Eaten here several times and it has been good until today. It was obvious they did not clean the grill, as I had onion flavor in my pancakes. A pretty distinct taste, right? I told the server and he said I was mistaken because they have several grills. I am sure they never get backed up in the kitchen, or would share the grill. Anyway, too bad. My boyfriend and I have been to Le Peep before and have had a great experience. This time was different. We put in our names like everyone else to be seated, waited for our named called out, and finally seated outside (due to preference). After being given our menus we waited 10 minutes and during that time the older couple next to us ( who had just gotten there) already had their server come, ask for their drinks and already taken their orders. The couple to the left of us (who just sat there to wait as availability opened up) were asked if they needed drinks. When I asked for assistance to serve us he said he'll get our waiter. I watched as he went inside and continued doing his job without talking to anyone. After giving them a few more minutes to come serve us (since we understood they were busy) no one came out. We understand Sundays are busy but no acknowledgement of loyal customers is UNACCEPTABLE. Being a young and interracial couple in a all white restaurant; we felt extremely discriminated. First time I was charmed and enjoyed my breakfast with my family. Had a chicken fried steak and eggs that time. While the steak was not on par with restaurants that specialize in it, it was okay. So fast forward a few months later, I ate there again with my mother. Totally different experience. Male server haughty and the vibe seemed very pretentious. Came in for brunch with some friends last Friday. Ordered the baby tacos with chorizo. Not bad, not great. Wasn't greasy but didn't really have much flavor at all. The salsa was subpar and the "guac" appeared to just be mashed up avocados -- zero flavor. I added salt/pepper and squeezed some lemon from my water into it. I visited Le Peep a few weeks ago on a Sunday. I got there around 12:30 and they were packed...good sign. The wait was about 15 min. Because I was starving, I previewed the menu before I got there and decided on the Lumberjack breakfast- 2 large pancakes, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and potatoes. The pancakes were delicious; I'd come back just for them. The eggs and potatoes were good too but nothing spectacular. The turkey sausage wasn't good at all, they tasted rubbery and lacked any real taste. I also ordered a mango iced tea which was good but lacked the sweetness I'm used to. In Atlanta, we love some sweet tea so the more sugar the better. Service was efficient. No complaints there. The location offers indoor and outdoor seating which is great but it was scorching outside, so I opted to sit indoors. I would definite visit again and try some of there other options. read more

Pancakes was to airy for me. Eggs Benedict was too watery and the chicken fried steak lacked flavor. First time coming couldn't figure out why it was popping. Guess it was our food that wasn't made right. But based on the other meals we saw the waffles and French toast looks to be the most popular. Yeah, I'm here once a week, more or less. I know exactly what I'm getting: friendly service, consistent food, reasonable prices, and the satisfaction of dining at a place that doesn't feel chain-like (even though it is.) I will say that every time I have deviated from my favorite dish (huevos rancheros with chorizo, salsa, and over-easy eggs) I've had diner's remorse. If you haven't been here yet, it's worth stumbling into on a weekend morning or when you're craving breakfast for lunch. I had high hopes in coming here, but there's nothing particularly special at Le Peep. We came for brunch on a Saturday and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The restaurant did not look full, but there were quite a few un-bussed tables. We used the waiting time to look at the menu. Once seated, we ordered right away (Eggs Benedict and The Desperado). Food was fine, but not memorable, similar to food at a Denny's or IHOP. Le Peep is kind of out of the way, so I probably would not be returning anytime soon. read more

I ordered the spinach crepe and found it to be stuffed with broccoli and a few spinach leaves. I did not want a lumpy broccoli crepe and found it to be underwhelming. Yum! The food here is delicious if you want your breakfast fix! It's only open for breakfast and lunch hours. The restaurant was full when we arrived so we had a bit of a wait. For me, that's always a positive sign of a great place to eat. We weren't in a hurry, but Le Peep probably isn't a good stop if you're pressed for time. This is my 17 month olds favorite place to eat. During the football season we take her there every Sunday in her jersey and we get 10% off. For Mother's day, I took my mom and family there. I think I my mom would have preferred something more upscale, but with a squid you only have 45 mins before she explodes. In 45 mins here, you can order, eat and pay the bill; all the while eating fresh, tasty food. The food is consistently excellent. I've never had bad food or service here. I think I preferred the one on Forest that closed years ago, but this will do. Where I come from (the far, frozen north), breakfast is more of a thing than it is here in Texas. Down here a lot of folks consider a "great" place to get breakfast an IHOP or Waffle House, places that serve the same homogeneous, flavorless piles of pancakes, eggs etc. So if you're looking for something a bit more interesting, more about quality than sheer quantity, your options are limited in the Irving area. The saving grace is Le Peep. A long menu that covers everything from your standard plate of eggs, to more imaginative fare like granola pancakes, creative skillets, and a genuinely delicious "lite" selection mean there's something for everyone. I've been to Le Peep on several occasions now and have had the following: *French Toast - coated in custard and fried these are sweet, creamy and delicious just as they are. Only gave them a kiss of syrup. *Migas the "Lite" Way - Tortillas, egg whites, a bit of salsa and a mix of fresh veggies. Bright, fresh flavor that didn't leave me feeling bloated. *Spanish Omelet - Fresh tomatoes, chroizo, onions folded into a tasty omelet with sour cream *Blueberry Granola Pancakes - This was a risk. I wasn't sure how granola and pancakes would go together, but somehow they managed it. The blueberries gave a nice tartness while the granola gave a sweet crunch. Also worth mentioning are their "Peasant Potatoes", which are their breakfast potatoes. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. If you're looking for something beyond the IHOP mountain of blah, definitely check Le Peep out. read more
