Napoleon
Rosie M.

Today, we picked up a princess cake for grandma's birthday. It is a very specific cake, but the woman knows what she likes. While we were in the bakery, we also picked up a strawberry cupcake, a strawberry macaron, and a Napoleon. The strawberry macaron had the perfect crunch to it on the outside and the inside the texture was just right, and it was very flavorful. The cream between the macaron shells had sweet little explosions of strawberry flavor, like the strawberries were dried, and then added to the cream without being chewy. It was very interesting and my son loved. The star of the show was a princess cake. My MIL loves princess cakes and she noted that this one was exceptionally moist and delicious which is perfect. I just wanted to make her day and I'm glad that we found le Gateau Elegant to help us make her day even more special.

I have always wanted to try this cute little cake shop because I heard that they had princess cakes. Not only do they have princess cakes, but they have princess cake slices! When I went in the shop, it is so cute and the service is so nice! It said they were hiring and it made me wanna work there! Everything looks so good but let's get to the taste. I bought a slice of the green princess cake with the raspberry filling because that is classic. It was absolutely delicious! so yummy ! so perfectly made! I can't wait to go back and try the orange princess cake with an apricot filling! I've never heard of that. I don't think we do that in Sweden, but I've never met a princess cake that I didn't like and I love apricot filling so I'm excited to try it. I also love that the parking was easy. They are only open Tuesday through Saturday so be aware of that great place!!

Small, but mighty bakery with limited parking. I came here intrigued by their raving reviews for Swedish Princess Cake. They had two tables inside, but it seemed like a lot of their customers were doing takeout orders. They also don't have restrooms. We shared a slice of the princess cake, tiramisu, and the raspberry crumble. I asked if the raspberry crumble slice can be slightly heated since it was rock hard to grab piece it, but I guess that's not how you're supposed to eat it because they clearly don't do that haha. The tiramisu was everyone's favorite. The princess cake was good, just not as good as the one from SF. I think it was the ratio of the layers that was a miss for me. Their cakes look amazing and seem to be very popular. But I'm onto my next find for a comparable Swedish princess cake to the one I had from SF.

Peanut butter cookie & key lime macaron. Both baked to perfection!

All their stuff looked yummy. I opted for a peanut butter cookie and a key lime macaron. Both were baked to perfection. The texture of each were just what I'd expect (chewy/soft). They had some cakes and basic cupcakes and mini pies too. Couple of seats in there, and had an easy transaction with the employee.

This is the bread pudding that I bought with mold on it

Found mold on my food. Quite a bit of it. The girl in the front was very nice but mold is inexcusable

This is a cute little spot with great decor and a nice selection of treats for the size of the shop. There is even some indoor seating. I sampled some petit fours, macarons and cupcakes and everything was ok but the cake was a little dry for my taste and the petit fours had a thick coating, almost as if they had been frozen. They were not delicate and fresh tasting as I had hoped. We did enjoy our macarons and the girl who helped us was nice but when I asked for a restroom she said they did not have one for public use. Most establishments make a restroom available for paying customers at eateries so I was disappointed but overall I probably would not return here anyway. Parking was a nightmare and it seems more geared towards customized cakes orders than stop-ins for treats.

Le Gateau is my partner's go-to cake for all birthdays, every year! Their princess cake is a repeat request every year and everyone always asks about where the cake is from. The sponge cake is lightly sweet and fluffy and the marzipan isn't overly almond. I like their chocolate decadence - super rich and chocolately and pairs really well with ice cream or whipped cream. They're awesome here - we've called days in advance and hours in advance and they've accommodated us well every time.

The large chocolate cake is the Kahlúa chocolate. It is to die for.

The chocolate Kailua cake is to die for! I have had it for 3 different occasions now and it is perfect. Not too sweet. Different layers of deliciousness. It's a must buy if you like chocolate cake. I have also had the princess cake and can say it's the Best is the Bay! I was surprised to see the other day that they also have pies. I feel like pie is a great dish to bring to a family function. So the next time my parents have I get together. I will definitely be stopping in to buy a pie. I love how they have a variety of cookies and slices of cake.

Bridal shower cake

Karen and Jackie were an absolute joy to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process. From my engagement party cake to the bridal shower cake, and finally to our stunning wedding cake, everything they created was both beautiful and delicious. Our wedding cake featured layers of chocolate cake with truffle and raspberry, Swedish princess, and chocolate/vanilla cake with mocha buttercream. The flavor and texture of the cake was incredible--we received so many compliments from our guests! Thank you so much, Karen and Jackie, for bringing my dream wedding cake to life I highly recommend Le Gateau Elegant for any special occasion!

Swedish Princess Cake

My husband order the princess cake from here for my birthday. I'm usually not too crazy about princess cakes, but this one was absolutely delicious! It's a vanilla cake with custard and red raspberry filling. It was nice and fluffy and not too sweet. And it was wrapped in marzipan and was soo good! Overall, such a delicious cake and look forward to trying their other flavors.

Slices of Yule Log and Princess cake

This bakery has maintained its standards over the years as I dropped in after over a decade during the holidays, on a whim, and decided to take the Yule log and Princess cake slices to go. Service was warm and friendly topped only by the deliciousness of the confections. The cakes were top notch quality and very, very reasonably priced given today's inflationary environment. Give this bakery a try. You won't be disappointed.

St. Honore cake

First time I've had a St. Honore cake and it was hands down one of the best cakes I've had. Everyone raved about how good it was. If you like custard you MUST try it!

Princess Cake

I came in on a Saturday morning in hopes they had a princess cake already made and they did! I purchased for my Grandma's 90th birthday and to say the cake was a hit at the party is an understatement. We had about 14 people and had barely anything left, everyone loved it. The employee's were very nice and the store is so cute! I can't wait to come back and try more of their desserts!

Beautiful setting for a bridal shower tea party!…read more The woodland room was so cute, whimsical, and fun! The room was so earthy and pretty. When my friends and I were deep in conversations, I forgot we were in a closed room and it felt like we were sitting at a table in a forest instead! We loved all the fun and pretty details in the woodland room. We loved the other rooms too and appreciate how we were able to walk through all of them, take pics, and play around! We loved all of the food and drinks that were served. We had blueberry scones, tea, lemonade, various finger sandwiches, salad, cheesecake, and sparkling cider. We were able to take home the leftover food and we had plenty to eat between the 6 of us. Denise is friendly and easy to communicate with both via email and in person. I'm so glad I reserved her woodland room for my bridal shower. She made the day feel so special and fun! I would recommend Pretty Tea Parties for anyone interested in doing an unforgettable get together! I hope to book with Denise again for future celebrations! :)

That said, they do offer gluten-free options, and their gluten-free scone was fabulous!

She makes you feel like you have known her for years. Clear and concise with what she wants, prompt responses, and a whole lot of fun. But after seeing her the event come to life, it was like we were transported into another universe. She has vision and drive. Hopefully this will not be the last time we work together!

I recently had the absolute pleasure of working alongside Andrea for an extravagant, Wicked-themed birthday celebration at the Grand Bay Hotel in San Francisco. As a DJ, I've been part of my fair share of complex productions--but this event? This one had layers. We're talking immersive design, multiple performances, theatrical moments, choreographed timing, lighting cues, and the kind of attention to detail that would make Broadway stage managers sweat. And yet--through every twist, change, last-minute curveball, and behind-the-scenes chaos--Andrea stayed calm, composed, and genuinely joyful. That smile never left her face. It wasn't just impressive; it was inspiring. What struck me most was Andrea's emotional intelligence and natural leadership. She wasn't just checking off a list--she was reading the room, checking in on vendors, comforting the family, and still had the foresight to ensure every beat of the evening landed with intention. For us as DJs, a successful event relies heavily on the planner's clarity, timing, and communication. Andrea excelled at all three. Her cues were crystal clear, her flexibility never compromised the bigger picture, and her collaboration felt seamless. It's rare to find someone who can hold both the creative and logistical sides of event production in perfect harmony. Andrea is that rare gem. And beyond the work, there's a real human connection there--a warmth that draws people in, makes vendors want to go above and beyond, and creates the kind of synergy that guests can feel, even if they don't see it. After this event, I'm not only grateful--I'm inspired. I genuinely hope to work with Andrea and Mia Emma Love Events more in the future. I believe that if we continue to collaborate, we could create experiences that are unforgettable, meaningful, and consistently next-level. Andrea, thank you for the trust, the kindness, the professionalism, and for being exactly the kind of event partner every creative hopes for. I'm honored to have been a part of this one--and I'm already looking forward to the next. With deep appreciation, DJ Brandon Beach

Ann Saavedra was our day-of wedding coordinator. Our wedding was a great success. I felt that Ann…read morewas not adequately detail oriented for the size and complexity of our event, although ultimately everything turned out great. Pluses: 1. Ann is friendly and professional. She made me feel special during the planning process. 2. We technically had not paid her for wedding planning- only for the day of coordination - but she was happy to meet with me at length before the wedding and also met with the florist and my sister who was involved in the planning. She made a special site visit and made helpful suggestions to my sister. 3. Ann appears to be very experienced. She thought of issues to consider during the wedding planning which I never would have thought of including considering how to position readers in the ceremony seating arrangement, where parents most likely should sit, etc. She similarly gave helpful suggestions for the order of the procession. She recommended making lists of people to pick up centerpieces, leftover cake, and other equipment from the wedding so that the day of went more smoothly. I felt that her suggestions helped us feel more relaxed on the day of the event because many things were "taken care of." 4. When my sister discovered at the last minute that the chairs that arrived were incorrect, Ann spent time with the vendors and helped correct the problem. Behind the scenes, she took care of everything and I didn't even know about it. Minuses: 1. During the pre-wedding preparation periods, I started to notice that she failed to read most of the emails I sent her or CC'ed her on to update her on changes in plans. 2. At the rehearsal I was shocked to find that she had a beautiful timeline and outline of all the details of the wedding which she didn't seem familiar with (I heard her daughter puts the packet together for her). She was inefficient in conducting the rehearsal due to lack of familiarity with the details. 3. The day of the wedding she was often not present or readily available, even when we called her cell phone. 4. She failed to make sure corsages and bouquets were available for the photos even though we followed her timeline so she should have known when to bring them. 5. I heard afterward that she snapped at a family member who came to kindly ask why the candles for the ceremony had been removed. 6. When the time of the bouquet toss came I realized that she had not made the toss bouquet available to me and she was unavailable at that time. I ended up using my real bouquet which luckily i was ok with parting with. Overall, I will say this- my wedding turned out beautifully. I didn't feel that this was really because of Ann, but I think that she may have done some behind the scenes work that helped. There weren't any major disasters, but I wondered if she would have been able to handle it if there had been. A simpler and smaller wedding may make for a different story. In addition, her strengths may be more in helping with the planning process than in the hectic day of coordination.
