It's really easy to give someone 5 stars when everything goes "perfectly." But sometimes it's when things don't go exactly as expected that one finds out who really stands out, and in this case it's Erin. To give some context, we recently celebrated our son's first birthday (which is a huge event in our culture) and the initial meetings with Erin were spot on. Her ideas, taste and vision were aligned with mine and I was so excited to work with her. After our initial "idea board" meeting I couldn't stop smiling because the details she had said she would bring to the party were so cute and unique and I couldn't wait to see them brought to life on the big day. Throughout the planning process she was extremely responsive, detail oriented, kind and just awesome in all ways. We also threw her the curveball of working with the schedule of two small children with their naps and she approached it with calm and flexibility. I should also mention that I'm an extremely picky and detail oriented person and lets say I put the "A" in type A personality and am a perfectionist so my expectations are always high. Having said this, on the day of the event the party's timeline, vendors, organizational details, logistics went smoothly. However there were a couple of items that we had discussed at the initial "idea board" that didn't happen and unfortunately they were related to significant cultural and family tradition aspects of the event so suffice to say I was saddened and frankly a bit shocked on what had happened. Mind you that the guests had an awesome time and it was a magical party and no one else noticed except mama bear. Usually at this point it would go downhill with most vendors, but I'm someone who likes to ask people "what happened" when things don't go according to expectations so I contacted Erin. First off, I could tell she was deeply affected and saddened and took it to heart that the event had not met my expectations. What I found impressive was her passion and heart in this party was genuine and she took it personally that I wasn't completely happy. Additionally, at no time was she defensive or coming up with excuses. She listened and asked without prompting "what can I do" and understood where I was coming from. We ended up doing a redo of the missing elements and while not a replacement for what I had wished happened at the party, it ended up being perfect. Additionally her professional conduct, authenticity as an overall sweetheart of a person and personal investment in her events speaks volumes. So would I use Erin again? In a heartbeat yes! If it wasn't clear, she has the most amazing style and taste that really is unique and personal. My husband is the rustic, natural type and I'm the whimsical, styled, elegent type and she was able to combine both. I also know that we ALL make "boo boos" for one reason or another and sometimes things happen and I know I wouldn't want to be defined by something that didn't go quite right. I know that Erin has been in this business since 2008 and based on her other reviews and what I did experience from her she is stellar at what she does but as with all things, sometimes something just falls through the crack and in this case it was some elements from our event. And honestly, I think we were that 1 in a million and any and all future events with Erin would be pefect :) But what defines someone to me is how they react/respond when confronted with it and Erin's response couldn't have been better. Oh where to begin...I'm fortunate enough to be able to say that I had a perfect wedding day. It would not have been possible without Erin. She is truly amazing. We threw a lot of curveballs at Erin. Wedding date change, venue change, then another venue change. Erin took all of this in stride and was such a calming force in the entire planning process. Her poise and composure are exactly what you need from a planner leading up to your wedding and on your big day. Erin is one of those people that makes everything beautiful. For our wedding, I showed her a few photos of tables and flowers that I liked, gave her some incredibly vague guidelines like "outdoor rustic, but not too rustic," and "I like big bouquets, but not too big," and she created a day that was even more beautiful than I could have imagined. During the craziness of our wedding I remember one very distinct moment before I walked down the aisle. Erin had wrangled my niece and nephew, (a 9 month old and a two year old), had them walking down the aisle, (hello, miracle), my mother was FINALLY standing where she should be, (hello, miracle number two), and Erin was calmly and perfectly sending our wedding party down the aisle. She knows how to work with vendors, she knows the culture and etiquette, and has an easy and calming way of handling things for you. Erin has helped me put the finishing touches on a couple of events I have hosted, most importantly my daughter's first birthday party. It was a cowgirl themed bbq, held at a park, and I never knew it was possible for picnic tables to look so good! My husband and I got married at Vintage House in Yountville, but were planning our wedding from New York and we could not have pulled it off to perfection without her. Brittney answered every questions (some even before I had a chance to ask!) in a prompt manner and always made me feel better (even after our planner at the site was let go just weeks before the wedding!). Brittney anticipated every move the night of the wedding and handled any bumps along the road so that I could truly enjoy the wedding. Your Event by Erin was absolutely incredible to work with. From day one, Erin was responsive, detailed, thoughtful, and so helpful with ideas. Your Event by Erin did our day of coordination plus our table linens and the decor for our Sonoma wedding. She communicated so quickly and effectively with all the vendors leading up to the wedding, everyone knew exactly what to do and came ready and prepared. I didn't get to the venue myself until the other guests did just because I knew Erin would have it all handled perfectly and she did. Everything looked gorgeous. We used Erin as our coordinator for our wedding and were overwhelmingly impressed with her service. Erin was extremely helpful in the months leading up to our wedding, we could not have done it without her. She had great vendor recommendations and worked very well with vendors that we chose to work with on our own. When we felt nervous or had concerns during the planning she had the right answers and was very patient and caring. In the week leading up to our outdoor wedding the weather looked to be taking a turn for the worst. We knew we could be rolling the dice with an outdoor wedding in wine country and were extremely nervous especially with close to 200 guest coming. On our wedding day in poured. Our venue required we have a Wedding Planner and it was the best thing that could happen to us! As a diligent planner with a touch of OCD, I was not a fan of being required to hire someone. I could not have been more wrong. Getting married in Napa Valley, CA and residing in New Jersey presented a host of issues, both logistically and mentally. Erin answered questions with sure confidence and a professional demeanor that quickly quelled any fears. She was super responsive, super knowledgeable, and the real MVP of our wedding. Every detail was planned, thoroughly vetted, and executed. From the small details of lavatory decor, to ensuring the chef plated dinner according to our specifications, to vendor management. Erin even coordinated for one of her staff members to look after my 2 year old daughter. Her presence alone on our wedding day really allowed my wife and I to be stress free! If I could give Erin ten stars, I'd do it in a heartbeat. From day one when we first met, I felt at ease and supported when it came to my wedding. She has a way of making the daunting process of planning and preparing for the wedding of your dreams seem like a simple task. I had already hashed out some of the details related to vendors and contracts before we'd met, but knew I'd need someone along the way and particularly day-of to coordinate with those vendors and make sure everything was in place. I could not possibly be happier with my choice to hire Erin, and am so fortunate to have found her when I did. She is incredibly organized, introduced me to an unbelievable florist, and knows how to run the show when it comes time for the event.
