Throughout that time, because of location convenience, I tolerated their standards of stained linens, holes in chair coverings, gum covered tables and wooden chairs, broken themed items, and terrible customer service. Our business relationship ended when I called to re rent table linens and was accused of not returning them after my prior rental. Why would I call back to rent the exact linens if I had kept them?!? Business with this company is not worth my time or sanity. ETA in response to owner's comment: Actions speak louder than words. I had asked for the owner to contact me directly regarding our fall out, and I never heard from him. If I could give C&M 10 stars I would. The owners are so nice and polite, the furniture/equipment we rented was exactly as expected, and we were blown away by the affordability. We drove the items up to Tahoe for a long weekend wedding celebration, and they did not charge us extra for multiple days. No appointment time for pick-up or drop-off, a crew of loaders and unloaders was ready for us when we arrived, everything was just so extremely simple and smooth. C & M helped us with our daughter's Wedding 8/18/18. I had an opportunity to speak with the Owner, Andy and he is absolutely a delightful man. I discussed a minor issue with him and he was on it right away and made the correction. Unfortunately when it was time to return some equipment we rented, an Umbrella Base was broken. I really should not lend any credence to the owner's comment by responding to it. But I am so infuriated by it that I decide to waste some of my time writing this. First and foremost, it is very tacky of the owner to repeatedly mention my name and my planner's name here. I do not appreciate such violation of my internet anonymity. And I suggest other potential customers beware of this risk if you happen to be another dissatisfied customer. Next let me expose the falsehood of the owner's comment, one by one: Owner claims: their staff visited the site twice and I, or my planner, was difficult to work with, because neither of us could be there, as if it was our fault. Note the site is a private home, and C&M staff wouldn't have been allowed on the property, unless we had coordinated an advance appointment with the homeowner. In fact, we coordinated all the vendors to visit the site on the same day, and none of them requested us to be there. We were very clear that we only need C&M staff to go and take measurement of the space so that we know the number and size of the tables we should rent. And they were very clear with my planner and I when we were in their office, that we would not be needed onsite on the day of site visit. Owner claimed: "[their staff] made more than one attempt to communicate with the client/event planner in order to meet at the venue site to discuss the site measurement and requirements for the actual wedding they were planning." Not true. Please provide your communication record to support your claim. Owner claimed: "we promised to provide a site visit in order to create the data required for the quantities of rental equipment etc. needed for the actual wedding. We never promised a schematic design layout for their event as... on the day the client visited C&M Party, our customer service associate offered a site measurement." At least the owner recognized that their staff was there to offer a site measurement, which was exactly what we needed but did not receive. We did not ask C&M to plan the tables for us. We asked them to measure the space independently. They gave us the homeowner's hand drawing and told us that was what they drew. It is this simple and clear. So please stop making the tasteless insinuation that my planner was being unprofessional. Regarding the charge and the refund, the owner's comment was again missing the point of the matter here. Fact: after receiving poor service, I called the store and complained about it. Whoever on the phone on that day told me that they would not charge me since I was not satisfied. But they charged me after I took my business elsewhere. I appreciate the fact that they at least return that amount to me. But I do not agree to owner's characterization of the event. read more

I have ordered from C&M Party two times now and both times have been excellent! The most recent experience was exceptionally good, which compelled me to write this review. It's clear that they make customer satisfaction a priority. I had ordered chairs, tables, and linens for a baby shower. When the linens arrived (on Thursdays ahead of our Saturday party), they weren't quite the color I had envisioned. This was completely my fault because Michelle had offered me the opportunity to come check out colors ahead of time in person to get a good sense of the true color (hard to tell online sometimes), which I just didn't get around to doing. After getting the linens and being not fully satisfied with the colors, I emailed Michelle to ask if there was any way we could change the linens to a different color last minute. She is very prompt with email and yes, she could help us swap them out :-) yay! I went the next day to the warehouse to pick up the new linens - but unfortunately there was just a miscommunication and the linents weren't at the warehouse yet. Again, Michelle and Andy were committed to making us happy, so they offered to hand deliver them to our house later that day - phew! I will continue to order party supplies from C&M because even though our experience wasn't *perfectly smooth* from the get go, they clearly work very hard to be attentive to their customers and go above and beyond to find solutions and make people happy. We came in here to inquire about chairs, an arch and some other items for my daughter's sweet 16 and we came to the counter to ask for prices and Simone Atondo, the sales rep was incredibly rude and told us she didn't know the prices and that the prices were in the pamphlet. At this point, this woman is acting as if we were inconveniencing her and I ask to speak with her manager. At this point she flips out and starts yelling at me and my minor daughter. She is absolutely insane! She starts throwing things around and slamming things down. Another employee comes to try and help the situation and Simone continues to yell. It was unbelievable. I end up calling the owner, Andy Chose, and he drives back to the store and before even letting me tell him how we have been treated he immediately states that he knows Simone and knows she would never act that way. We went back in the store where Simone started yelling at us once again in front of the owner. Then she has the nerve to yell at my daughter "I hope you don't turn out like your mom!" All this in front of the owner of this business! That is crazy. I am in shock at the way we were treated and the slap in the face is Andy tells us "We're done here, this is over with" as he escorts us out. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!! read more

I rented an aisle runner and a cake stand from C&M for my wedding. When I went to pick up the aisle runner they didn't have the length I ordered in stock. They had no explanation of where the aisle runner was that I ordered and told me I can take a longer one and "just tape it under". I declined that option, I wasn't going to rig an aisle runner for my wedding. The lady at the front was frustrated about the situation and took it out on me, the customer. After about 10 minutes of not knowing what was going on I asked her if I needed to go somewhere else and she snapped in a nasty voice , "if you would just give me a minute". I went in a little over a week before my wedding (which was on Wednesday, June 27th, 2012) and rented 100 white wooden padded chairs for the ceremony ($1.75 ea) they were delivered to the gazebo at Civic Park in Walnut Creek on time at 12pm (ceremony was at 2:30pm) and picked up on time at 4pm. Most notably, Paul was extremely helpful taking down our order and very patient throughout all the order changes up until the event. The things we ordered arrived when stated and were removed professionally. Although the folding chairs were a tad worn when you got up-close, the linens and dishes were all in great shape. Warning: they shrink wrap the utensils, and it was very challenging to get them loose - especially when you're under a time crunch. Their pricing is competitive.
