Karen and Jackie were an absolute joy to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process. From my engagement party cake to the bridal shower cake, and finally to our stunning wedding cake, everything they created was both beautiful and delicious. Our wedding cake featured layers of chocolate cake with truffle and raspberry, Swedish princess, and chocolate/vanilla cake with mocha buttercream. The flavor and texture of the cake was incredible--we received so many compliments from our guests! Thank you so much, Karen and Jackie, for bringing my dream wedding cake to life I highly recommend Le Gateau Elegant for any special occasion!
I have always wanted to try this cute little cake shop because I heard that they had princess cakes. Not only do they have princess cakes, but they have princess cake slices! When I went in the shop, it is so cute and the service is so nice! It said they were hiring and it made me wanna work there! Everything looks so good but let's get to the taste. I bought a slice of the green princess cake with the raspberry filling because that is classic. It was absolutely delicious! so yummy ! so perfectly made! I can't wait to go back and try the orange princess cake with an apricot filling! I've never heard of that. I don't think we do that in Sweden, but I've never met a princess cake that I didn't like and I love apricot filling so I'm excited to try it. I also love that the parking was easy. They are only open Tuesday through Saturday so be aware of that great place!!
Small, but mighty bakery with limited parking. I came here intrigued by their raving reviews for Swedish Princess Cake. They had two tables inside, but it seemed like a lot of their customers were doing takeout orders. They also don't have restrooms. We shared a slice of the princess cake, tiramisu, and the raspberry crumble. I asked if the raspberry crumble slice can be slightly heated since it was rock hard to grab piece it, but I guess that's not how you're supposed to eat it because they clearly don't do that haha. The tiramisu was everyone's favorite. The princess cake was good, just not as good as the one from SF. I think it was the ratio of the layers that was a miss for me. Their cakes look amazing and seem to be very popular. But I'm onto my next find for a comparable Swedish princess cake to the one I had from SF.
All their stuff looked yummy. I opted for a peanut butter cookie and a key lime macaron. Both were baked to perfection. The texture of each were just what I'd expect (chewy/soft). They had some cakes and basic cupcakes and mini pies too. Couple of seats in there, and had an easy transaction with the employee.
This is a cute little spot with great decor and a nice selection of treats for the size of the shop. There is even some indoor seating. I sampled some petit fours, macarons and cupcakes and everything was ok but the cake was a little dry for my taste and the petit fours had a thick coating, almost as if they had been frozen. They were not delicate and fresh tasting as I had hoped. We did enjoy our macarons and the girl who helped us was nice but when I asked for a restroom she said they did not have one for public use. Most establishments make a restroom available for paying customers at eateries so I was disappointed but overall I probably would not return here anyway. Parking was a nightmare and it seems more geared towards customized cakes orders than stop-ins for treats.
Le Gateau is my partner's go-to cake for all birthdays, every year! Their princess cake is a repeat request every year and everyone always asks about where the cake is from. The sponge cake is lightly sweet and fluffy and the marzipan isn't overly almond. I like their chocolate decadence - super rich and chocolately and pairs really well with ice cream or whipped cream. They're awesome here - we've called days in advance and hours in advance and they've accommodated us well every time.
The chocolate Kailua cake is to die for! I have had it for 3 different occasions now and it is perfect. Not too sweet. Different layers of deliciousness. It's a must buy if you like chocolate cake. I have also had the princess cake and can say it's the Best is the Bay! I was surprised to see the other day that they also have pies. I feel like pie is a great dish to bring to a family function. So the next time my parents have I get together. I will definitely be stopping in to buy a pie. I love how they have a variety of cookies and slices of cake.

We ordered a custom birthday cake and were disappointed by the quality of the decorations. It looked like someone rushed through the piping and the design on the top of the cake was off center. No apology from the bakery and no means to make amends. To top it all off, the cake was expensive and dry. Would not recommend. read more
Today, we picked up a princess cake for grandma's birthday. It is a very specific cake, but the woman knows what she likes. While we were in the bakery, we also picked up a strawberry cupcake, a strawberry macaron, and a Napoleon. The strawberry macaron had the perfect crunch to it on the outside and the inside the texture was just right, and it was very flavorful. The cream between the macaron shells had sweet little explosions of strawberry flavor, like the strawberries were dried, and then added to the cream without being chewy. It was very interesting and my son loved. The star of the show was a princess cake. My MIL loves princess cakes and she noted that this one was exceptionally moist and delicious which is perfect. I just wanted to make her day and I'm glad that we found le Gateau Elegant to help us make her day even more special. read more

My husband order the princess cake from here for my birthday. I'm usually not too crazy about princess cakes, but this one was absolutely delicious! It's a vanilla cake with custard and red raspberry filling. It was nice and fluffy and not too sweet. And it was wrapped in marzipan and was soo good! Overall, such a delicious cake and look forward to trying their other flavors. read more

This bakery has maintained its standards over the years as I dropped in after over a decade during the holidays, on a whim, and decided to take the Yule log and Princess cake slices to go. Service was warm and friendly topped only by the deliciousness of the confections. The cakes were top notch quality and very, very reasonably priced given today's inflationary environment. Give this bakery a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

First time I've had a St. Honore cake and it was hands down one of the best cakes I've had. Everyone raved about how good it was. If you like custard you MUST try it! read more
I came in on a Saturday morning in hopes they had a princess cake already made and they did! I purchased for my Grandma's 90th birthday and to say the cake was a hit at the party is an understatement. We had about 14 people and had barely anything left, everyone loved it. The employee's were very nice and the store is so cute! I can't wait to come back and try more of their desserts! read more
This is an updated review, as we have not been here in a while. My daughter is an avid foodie and we both love desserts. While in the area I stopped by for a few treats and picked up a slice of lemon cake, macarons & princess cake. Delicious! Our absolute fav was princess cake, it just hit different! The marzipan was not overly sweet, we loved it! She loved it so much she wanted it for her sweet 16th. Her wish was my command so I placed an order (give them at least a day notice for a larger size) the week of for a larger princess cake and paid over the phone. It was ready as promised and did not disappoint. She absolutely loved it. read more

When it comes to milestone birthdays, I have relied on Le Gateau Elegant for over 10 years. This time it was for my quilter wife's 60th and I wanted to honor the fabulous quilts she makes for friends and family. I asked if they can make a cake for a quilter, but they hadn't made one before so I found a picture online and forwarded it. Yes, they said they could make it. Long story short, they did an awesome job! My wife and her quilter friends were absolutely blown away. All I can say is if you don't see it, ask for it. They are absolute masters of their craft. Check out the picture of the cake and see for yourself. read more
Even though this business is great for wedding, birthdays, celebrations etc. cakes, they also have walk-in slices, cupcakes, cookies and pastries. Please note if ordering a cake, they ask for at least 48hrs. notice and they don't have every flavor by the slice for walk-ins. This place made my wedding cake and my in-laws' silver anniversary. We loved our wedding cake which was half apricot princess and the other lemon blueberry. I also enjoyed my in-laws' cake which was their Swedish Princess. When preparing for my wedding we were able to sample almost all of their cakes. Obviously along with the ones we choose for our wedding, we also loved their two most populars: Swedish Princess and Red Velvet. Also the Champagne, Carrot Cake and Heath Bar Crunch came close in the running. Oh and by the way, I love their apple bread pudding. Grab one for takeout, pop it in the microwave for a minute when you get home, and you'll be licking your lips. read more

Got my wedding cake from here and loved it! We had a 2 tier cake with the lemon blueberry flavor and a sheet cake with the frangelico mousse. Everyone enjoyed them and the decoration was also pretty! Karen was also friendly and was able to easily work with my preferences! I've also tried their chocolate croissant and coffee and they were yummy! And the cake tasting we did for the wedding cake included a lot of flavors - I think around 16 - it was great to have so many options! read more

We ordered the most amazing cake for a confirmation party. Not only was the Swedish Princess amazing, but it was beautifully decorated. All of the goodies we've tried at this bakery are next level to any other bakery I've tried. All the employees are very nice and very accommodating. Le Gateau Elegant is a class act! read more

Ordered a cake for my moms birthday and everyone loved it. We had two other cakes from somewhere else to compare to and this was hands down the crowd pleaser. The experience of picking up the cake was easy and fun thanks to the great customer service by the young woman who helped check me out. Definitely recommend and will revisit. read more

My son and his fiancé recently selected Le Gateau Elegant for their wedding cake on 4-24-2024. They selected the Swedish Princess cake and it was simply delicious! There was not a crumb left on guests plates. The combination of raspberry with custard filling was devine, it had a hint of almond which brought all the flavors together. The vanilla cake was so moist and the whipped cream frosting not too heavy-they opted for a "naked" cake finish. Perfect for a spring wedding! The cake was delivered to the Lafayette venue on time and they placed fresh flowers we provided ahead of time. read more

Cannot say enough great things about le gateau elegant! We have gotten many things from them over the years - including our wedding cake three years ago! And our son's baptism cake recently! They are a breeze to work with! Every guest raved about the cake both times! Swedish princess cake is amazing!! Also peanut and tree nut free which is great for some allergies in the family! read more
