Desserts ... incredible! Service .... leaves something to be desired. I just ran in for a couple of quick desserts this evening and the young lady helping me was not very welcoming nor helpful. Given this is an upscale bakery in an upscale part of town, I expect better service. She was more concerned about cleaning and closing up shop than customer service. Came here after hearing great things about Marvel Cake. I didn't find it right away and had to pay for metered parking in the shopping center beside it. Very fancy patisserie, clean with nice interior. Offers various quality drinks, savories, and sweets. Love that they have spa water too. Ordered the Royal Hazelnut, Pistachio Mousse Tart and Pink Rose Latte. I almost ate their "paper" logo topping, it sure fooled me for chocolate! Came here after lunch to get something sweet for dessert. Walked in and it was such a cute little spot. It was the Friday before Valentine's Day and they had so many cute cakes and desserts just for the holiday. There were a few people there having a Galentine's day and it was so cute. As for the desserts, there were so many to choose from. The lady who assisted us out was very helpful and offered us more insight on each dessert. But we opt out in getting a slice of the Napoleon and Serenity mouse dessert. To our surprise the desserts were really delicious, not too sweet or powerful in flavor. SUMMARY: Prices are a but steep but it's WC. I love that the employees are friendly and approachable. I will come again and try more of their pastries. FOOD: Ordered Napoleon and Mini Almond. The pastries here pretty to look at. Anyway back to the what I ordered. Napoleon is on the small size, perhaps it's more French (three layers) than Russian (at least 10 layers), which probably explains why it wasn't as moist as a traditional Napoleon. As for the mini almond, forget it, get something more interesting. It was rather flat, nothing exciting as I was trying hard to enjoy it. Also I found the sliver if almonds a tad burnt. But taste got better when I added cream from the Napoleon Coffee is good, but nothing outstanding, I mean basic right? Frothed milk stiffer on the latte but still sweet and not burnt. I have heard so many great things about Marvel Cake and finally got a chance to visit one night. I was mesmerized by the cakes under the glass cases. They look decadent and so tempting! This Marvel Cake location might be the most spacious and least crowded amongst the rest of the location in the Bay Area. I was very surprised to walk in and there were no customers, though it was like an hour before closing. And what is even more surprising was that they had plenty of spiral croissants! These spiral croissants are one of my favorite baked goods ever! It combines the flakiness and buttery texture and flavor of a perfect croissant with mousse or custard-like fillings. They have plenty of other dessert options - all are very beautifully designed! Apparently there is free parking inside the building but if you're facing the shop it's on the right side, so don't make the mistake we made and go to the left and backing out! Super cute location with an interior that feels upscale and cozy. There's a convenient parking lot next door. However, you do have to pay a minimum of one hour. I tried the Serenity, Strawberry Heart, and Crème Brûlée, and all three were absolutely delicious. I was hoping to try the Royal Hazelnut as well, but unfortunately, it was sold out. We also ordered their ham and cheese (jamon & beurre) sandwiches were substantial and served with a side of chips. It was a good size and they cut the nearly foot long sandwich in half so we split it between two ppl and it was the perfect share plate. We also ordered one of their rose flavored dessert cakes. It was beautiful and had a vanilla bean /rose flavored like mousse center. They had French music on so we closed our eyes and teleported ourselves back to Paris. This is such a beautiful store inside and out. The decoration and the tables are so lovely. The bad thing today was there was a screaming kid in the restaurant so that sort of messed up the ambience. The people that work there are really nice. Great service. They have such a wide selection of cakes and food items. I didn't realize they had food items and they look so delicious. The shop is under an apartment complex and have seatings inside and outside. All the pastries and cakes were displayed beautifully, and the interior is so pretty with a pink theme. The staff were really friendly and ordering was fast. We got the signature raspberry heart, passionfruit tart, sesame ube tart, and supreme croissant. The heart was a bit sour with a creamy mousse texture and raspberry filling. The passionfruit tart was unfortunately not my liking. It's way too sour, making me unable to taste other flavors besides the sourness. After the first two tarts, I weren't expecting anything from the sesame ube tart but it turns out to be my favorite one! It tasted like sesame roll with a hint of ube flavor which balanced the sweetness, making it not overwhelming. The croissant was ok. The pastry part of the croissant was delicious, but the caramel filling was a little too much/sweet to balance with the pastry. This place is definitely for a sweeter tooth and flavors vary a lot but the atmosphere is really nice. My first experience at this location was not great. I've been to the Campbell location and it was completely different than Walnut Creek. I arrived late in the afternoon so most of the pastries were already gone. The line quickly grew once I got in. My advice is to scope out what's left before you fall in line so you know what to order once you're up at the register. Take pictures if you have to. Also, seating is extremely limited. The girl at the register was very friendly. I ordered a lavender latte, 2 pastries and 1 to go. My husband was able to get a table for 2, but it needed bussing. Although all tables were taken and there were a lot of people working, they struggled bussing tables so we had to flag someone to clean our table. My latte arrived 15 minutes later and my pastries that didn't require anything special took another 30 minutes to get to my table. WHY?! On top of that, the girl who brought my order didn't even give napkins or utensils. How was I supposed to eat a cake or the Napolean without utensils? She seemed annoyed that we asked her for those. I know this establishment is new and getting into the rhythm of hospitality with new staff might take a while, but these are all common sense. I hope for a better experience given that Marvel is exactly that. You go there for the experience and the high quality of the food. read more

We got: chocolate croissant, almond croissant, spinach and feta croissant, lemon curd cake, and a pistachio macron. The worst thing? The macron. I took a bite and couldn't even bite through. It was very stale and harder than any macron should ever be. The best thing? Almond croissant. It was very mid, with a disappointing pastry flake and an almond paste that was too sweet. Everything else in between tasted too salty, artificial lemon flavoring, and the chocolate felt old and bloomed, not appropriate for baking. I wanted to update my review as I returned a couple times and unfortunately both visits the Lavender Latte was significantly different. On the second visit my latte tasted burned with almost no lavender flavoring - very different from my first cup. The lavender seeds were also sprinkled all over the top (not sparingly on one side like my first cup) and kept getting stuck in my mouth with each sip. My third visit, my latte tasted burned again and this time had absolutely no lavender flavoring and no lavender seeds. I would have thought they'd served me the wrong cup except the waitress confirmed what I'd ordered when she set it down. Both times I returned hoping to get a repeat of my first lavender latte, but sadly neither of my visits had a consistent experience, so I don't plan to return. read more

I also tried the Dubai chocolate slice and the cookie was soft and the toppings were rich. I think it could have been lighter with the pistachio topping but it wasn't an issue, just a personal preference. My daughter had their chocolate cupcake and it was moist. She really liked the frosting. I also ordered their rose vanilla latte and it was probably a little too sweet for me, but the rose flavor wasn't overpowering or overwhelming either. The staff was very friendly and informative. My friend has some allergies and they were able to answer her questions about their ingredients as well. I was doing a drive by and saw this place?! I had to do a double take cause it the same Bakery in Campbell and Palo Alto. They have those awesome Pinwheel Croissants. At the time of my visit is that they don't have them yet, but it will be here shortly by 2-3 weeks. I had gotten a Latte and a Creme Brulee pastry dessert for a taster. Gals who worked there said it is still in "soft opening" mode but will be fully opened and have their Ribbon cutting ceremony this upcoming Sunday. This review was actually written in May 2025, so prices may have changed. Food was very good. First time I had a rose latte. They make their own syrup. I also had a little almond flaky nut pastry thing. It was small but went perfectly with the latte. I came back the next day and got the lavender, honestly I didn't like it as much as the rose. I don't know if that's because I forgot to get a milk alternative with the rose and got almond milk with the lavender or what. I couldn't taste the lavender as well and it tasted like there was chocolate in it. I, personally, do not like chocolate in my coffee. Anyway I bought a cake - vanilla with strawberries. I took it to a birthday celebration and everyone loved it. I wish I had also gotten the chocolate, because not everyone liked strawberries and vanilla cake. I loved it. It was not very sweet, but the strawberries were sweet and very flavorful. The cake was dense and light at the same time, if that makes any sense. It would make a great tres leches cake or any cake you put a soak in. The ambience is tea house, ornate. Definitely a place I could bring a book, get a cup of coffee or tea and sit for hours and eat myself silly, go into a sugar coma, though I don't think the pastries are too sweet to cause that.
