I was speed walking to Sheng Kee Bakery before they closed when an ad posted near the entrance of the plaza for Le Dessert Lab caught my eye. It showed the top 3 drinks and a bunch of other special drinks but the Taro Coconut Milk Latte got my attention. The taro creme on the sides perfectly complimented the coconut milk and the boba was nice and chewy. I want to try the matcha cream next time. read more

There are a TON of boba spots in this area, but when this place opened up, I was curious to check it out. They've done a good job decorating the place and the shopping center is going through this positive transformation of adding new venues. My BIGGEST complaint is how long it takes to make a drink. We were there on a random Tuesday midday, ordered one drink, and it took 25 minutes to get. There were 2 employees working, not THAT many people there, and just took way too long. They also were a perfect portion size, I felt like I could try several flavors and not feel guilty. Clearly they're made custom and in small batches. After Le Dessert Lab opened up, I came by to see how it was since I had gone to its predecessors since I was in middle school. The venue was changed to include a better aesthetic than the businesses that occupied the space before it, so that was good. My sister came along and we ordered drinks and dessert, finding that that they were a bit on the more expensive end compared to other milk tea shops. When we drank them, we were unimpressed. I was especially disappointed by the blandness of the strawberry matcha latte, which kind of shocked me. I think I'll just stick to getting my milk tea at other places in the area like Berkeley or T4 or Tocotea in San Pablo/Richmond. read more

Really good drink, had a strawberry milk latte with matcha crème, thoroughly enjoyed it on my way home from richmond to sacramento. The place was also amazingly lit with a cool ring light to take pictures with. If I could I would award this shop with a 4 out of 5 stars for their matcha latte. Unfortunately I found a critter in my drink, buried at the bottom, about an hour after leaving the shop. I drank said critter, and spat it out because it felt harder than any of the seeds that the strawberry bits had and was definitely crispier than the boba in my drink. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it was a dead bug! For this, I unfortunately cannot give any higher than a 1 star review. I hope that the shop understands, and will now go wash out my mouth with mouthwash and thoroughly brush my teeth. update: I've been contacted by them as they do an inspection, and they were really focused on improving the experience for all customers, bumping up the review to 3 stars for quality of the drink (before the discovery of the added protein) read more

This place is pretty cute and elegant in a Asian sort of way with the pastels and hues painted to represent someone's living room. There is also a photo ready "studio" where you can take cute selfies with your special someone off to the side. The drinks are also very good. The taro and my favorite , ice peach tea, is refreshing with or without the pearls. I haven't tried their pastries or snacks yet, but plan to in a future visit. The young staff is fairly efficient, once you can get their attention away long enough from their smart phones. Overall it is a decent replacement from Bubble Loca that used to occupy this space. read more

We have lived in this area for over a year and this is the first time we've visited. Honestly wish we would have discovered it sooner because my family and I love it! As soon as we entered, our kiddo was taken in by the cute decor and overall ambiance. We spent time just taking pictures of her by the different walls/photo op sites. Bad service! Tried to order an avocado smoothie, the response was "no avocado" then walked away?Then I tried to order a different drink, she just pretended not to hear it from inside the shop. Also the very same reception woman kept coughing and sneezing without a mask or covering herself while making other drinks! OMG, I missed the old Tea place, not this POS of attitude and service. The other customer in line looked at me, said that she might have just come from China struggling with language problems. I laughed, trying to get her name but they didn't wear name tags.
