They have pretty tasty boba & milk tea!! Nice selection of drinks to order. They were nice and fast!! It was a cute and quiet atmosphere too!! read more

I'm not a boba kind of guy. I know I look it but no, I can live without chewy bubbles and not miss them. Luckily it's not a prerequisite when you order here. They offer a pretty wide selection of refreshments here...milk teas, fruit teas, plain teas, matchas, even BTS-inspired drinks...yeah, the boy band. Proof yet again that I'm probably not the target customer for this tea shop. Yet I was able to find genuine satisfaction in the $8 Pineapple Slushy I ordered (Photo 6). It was big, refreshing, thick enough, and not overly sweet. I even sipped it in the shop amid hyperactive young children and overindulgent parents. DRINKS - 4 stars...the fruity slushies deliver the goods AMBIANCE - 3 stars...spacious even though it felt like grammar school recess SERVICE - 3.5 stars...industrious crew, not much interaction TOTAL - 4 stars...go for the slushy, especially if you're a BTS fanboy RELATED - Exploring Solano Avenue? Nomi Tea - Bubble Tea Near Me - Albany, California

Food - 3 Service - 4 Value - 2 Not my first choice for boba, but serviceable if in the area. Interior is rather spartan but roomy. Prices are a little high for what you get, but I suppose that's to be expected given it's on Solano Ave. read more

I'm a boba fantatic and this is quite literally the worst boba place I've been to. I ordered the rose milk tea and there is no tea flavor and the little flavor it had tasted artifical. My son got the spritzer drink which was explained to us as sparkling/fizzy and instead what we got was a flat drink and the boba pearls were soggy and disgusting. Lastly, it was a hot day and they forgot to put any ice in any of our drinks. read more

My cousin and I enjoy trying different boba shops whenever we hang out. Nomi Tea is relatively close to my house, yet I never felt drawn to go. We decided to try it and though it's not my favorite, it's nice to know there's a spot in Albany for a decent boba fix! The tea shop is well sized with several tables to sip and talk at. The inside is spacious and modern with minimal decorations. I found the service to be fine but not anything special. You order at the counter, they prepare your drink, and you enjoy! Being a tea shop they offer a plethora of milk tea, fruit tea, slushies, and so forth. Ice and sugar levels can be adjusted and dairy alternatives are available. I had the Sakura Oolong Milk Tea with less sugar and ice. Even though I chose a non-dairy creamer I felt that it was pretty watered down. There wasn't much Sakura or oolong flavor to it which was quite disappointing. My cousin has the Peach Oolong Milk Tea and I enjoyed hers more. If you're walking around Albany and want to support local, Nomi Tea is a quaint spot to grab boba. Find them off Solano Ave. with street and neighborhood parking. I prefer going to Berkeley for my boba fix but I am glad to try a different spot. read more

Nomi has become my go to spot for boba or just to vibe. The first time I came in Louka helped me at the register, it was memorable because he was very rugged and muscular. He seemed to know a lot about the chewy balls they sell. He recommended the dark brown sugar boba!! It was delicious!! The one odd thing about Louka is that his cup always seemed to be filled halfway to the brim with these bobas?? I think I once saw him drink 5 cups in one day, but honestly I lost count. He really loves those chewy balls lol!! Anyways there's a cool pokemon machine and claw machine for the kids. Oh and I can't forget the best machine of all.. BTS STICKERS!!! The coolest part of the store is the wall of 67's near the register, it gave me a good laugh. My favorite employee that I see all the time is definitely the tall and very handsome guy named Julian AKA the beekeeper(pokemon binder easter egg ;). One of my go to drinks is taro milk tea and I am always hoping he is the one to make it because he always makes it super smoooooothhhh and creamy. There's a grandpa always at the back of the shop, but he still acts young and spry. He makes the best boba in town! For you cat lovers out there (like me), they are selling some really cute cat stickers at the counter for just $2! It turns out one of the employees drew them herself.. super cool!! I obviously had to buy a sticker for my water bottle. One of the girls has really cool dyed hair and some awesome piercings. You can also recognize her by looking for the worker that is always drinking a red bull. Allison is the k-pop connoisseur and the friendliest of all the nomi employees. If you have any questions related to BTS she's the one to ask! Interested in pokemon? Andrew is your guy! He is willing to trade his plethora of cards. I would highly recommend checking this store out if you have the chance. My ratings out of 5 Atmosphere: 4 Price: 3.5 Service: 5 Drinks: 4.5 Overall: 4.5 read more

The service was nice but the drink was weak taste and boba is very soft and almost melting outside layer of boba. We ordered Rose milk tea with boba and it tasted water down milk tea. It has very few rose aroma. It would be better if it has more rich taste. read more

Synthetic taste and artificial ingredients. Not that great. The ambience is good but quality not great. Over priced.

I found this place while walking down Solano Avenue and stopped by to try. I saw a unique "Sakura oolong milk tea" and was intrigued so I ordered it. It is comparable to a rose milk tea but more subtle taste and their boba was soft and chewy. The interior could use a little sprucing up, the store looked fairly new. I'd definitely recommend a good spot for a photo op or selfies! read more

Was craving iced tea + boba after a walk through of the lovely Berkeley Rose Garden, so we stoped here on the way back to the freeway toward home. The tea seems standard, but I'm giving this place 5 stars for customer service. They are still requiring online orders only and pickup at the door only, no entry to the restaurant (Covid precautions). Given that fact, we made a mistake when placing our order on the mobile website and didn't realize until we received our drinks. Despite the fact that the order error was our own fault, they offered to remake our drinks correctly, all for free. To top off the top notch experience, the my drink satisfied my craving perfectly. I love that this place offers dairy milk alternatives, as I'm lactose intolerant. Normally, tea shops make their standard 100% sugar drinks too sweet for my taste, and I order 50%. Nomi tea's menu is very clear that they suggest ordering 100% sweetness if it is your first time there. We ordered 50% and honestly it was 50% less sweet than what I was expecting. It was still delicious, but if you like your tea sweet, take the menu recommendation and don't order less than 100%! read more

Unfortunately I only came to know Nomi Tea after COVID rekt their community events. Bummer! Online order via QR code only. For COVID safety purposes, masks are required and their entire shop is pickup only. Quick service-- usually done in 10 min. Expect to congregate awkwardly on the corner of Solano with other customers (though I have pet many a dog during my waits here) Most drinks I've had here are alright. PRO: really sturdy, translucent cups. CON(s): Their teas do taste watered-down & the boba is gummy. Even without adjustments, their drinks have only the slightest hint of tea and just a Lot. Of. Sugar/Flavoring. Ack! Since I live so close, I keep wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt and trying different adjustments with my orders-- but I'm underwhelmed every time. Oh well. I wonder if their function as a small event venue previously absolved them of their boba shortcomings........ read more

Having heard about the great boba shortage of 2021, I was determined to go get some myself as I have not had a chance to indulge in any for almost 2 months. Since I live in an area devoid of good boba establishments, I was pleasantly surprised to find on Yelp a place just 10mins away from me, saving me my usual trip to Berkeley. I placed my order online through Nomi's website, and was pleasantly pleased by their diverse options to choose from. There are plenty of free parking spots directly on Solano Ave, as well as plenty of parking off into the residential areas nearby as well. Order was ready and waiting for me by the time I arrived. And I simply needed to flag down one of the employees in the back to grab it for me as they don't appear to park anyone at the entrance. Ordered my usual Passionfruit Green Tea w/ boba. It was very delicious, and not too sweet or watered down like I find in some other places. I especially like the nice re-usuable cup that the boba came in, which was definitely of a higher quality than many of the flimsy re-usuable cups I get at other places. read more

Let me say this first...... if you don't have internet access, you can't order at this time Due to the pandemic, they only accept online ordering. So you put in your order first, they send you a text message to confirm and you wait for another text so you can go pick up your order. I find it very convenient to order online which you can choose sweetness and how much ice. I believe some of the items you can even choose dairy or non-dairy creamer for your drinks. They also suggest that if this is your first time, try their regular sweetness first then make adjustment later. I also LOVE their cup. The stopper is so cute and there is a place where you can put it when you want to drink ...... look at my pictures and you will know what I am talking about . Yesssssss I enjoyed taking the picture so much. So much that after I started driving and drinking, I felt weird ..... how come this time I am drinking boba tea different then other times???!!!??? Oh my I forgot to grab a straw!!!! Distraction distraction......... Had to save the tea home so I could use a spoon to scoop the tapioca Forgot to mention rose tapioca milk tea tasted great and the tapioca didn't get hard after being refrigerate. Well it was huge so I couldn't finish it. read more

Online ordering only. They send you both a text and email after ordering to confirm your order. Unfortunately, they did not call or text (as stated in their email) when my drink was ready so be sure to check the table if you think you've been waiting too long. Pros: -I like that you can order online and everything is no contact -the drink itself was good (I ordered milk tea with half and half) -there's a bunch of 90 minute street parking from 8am-6pm Cons -it's interesting that they charge you an extra $0.50 even for whole milk. I had to pay an extra $0.75 for half an half -even though their email says that they will contact you when your order is ready, I did not get any texts or calls read more

One of my go to spots for boba tea, located on Solano Ave in Albany. There is always bustling of business. My fave has been thai boba. My kids ordered mango slushie with boba and taro milk tea with boba and non dairy creamer which is standard that it's made suggested by the order taker. My oldest who ordered the taro milk tea said momma, I can't even drink it with straw because it's too thick! I opened the lid to see what it was and it was the texture was like cottage cheese and yes it was too thick to drink. Little brother wanted to see what the issue was and took a zip and he ended up vomiting what he swallowed! Whoever's in charge, Please pay attention to what you are making and step up your quality control , you don't want to give people food poisoning, i hope! $8 just thrown in the street trash bin read more

I came to Nomi Tea with high expectations because I heard great things from friends and I saw good reviews on Yelp as well. It was hard to find parking - mostly street parking. When you first walk in to order, the staff is not as friendly and they kind of brush you off when you are trying to get their attention to ask a question. I opted for my usual - the jasmine milk tea with boba. I was hoping the drink was good, even though the service was poor. The drink itself took awhile, despite being one of the only ones there. The tea itself was strong, but it was not as creamy as a milk tea should be and it tasted a bit watered down. It probably was an off day and if I am in the area again, maybe I would give them another try. read more

I have been here a couple different times for beverages. My go to is the Mint Yoongi with popping boba. I have tried their Taro milk tea and did not like it. It's wayyy too thick which makes it a bit slimy. The description on their website is "Made with real taro root, not powder flavoring" which I guess might be the reason why the texture is so thick. Other drinks that I have tried are the slushies. We've had the pineapple, mango and passion fruit flavors. My little sister really enjoys their slushy and looks forward to me taking her here. There is a downside to this business: you cannot order when you get there. They only accept order ahead, which I find kinda silly LOL but anyways, you can only order on your phone and then pick it up at the window. Parking: this establishment is located on Solano Ave., which is very busy with a lot of traffic. Parking is definitely available. There's been a few times when I'm lucky enough to get a parking right out front and other times where I've had to park a bit rather. Staff: Being that it's order ahead and you can't go inside, there really isn't that much interaction with the staff aside from when they ask you what you're there to pick up. read more

Nomi is hands down my favorite boba place in the bay. I know those are big words but I seriously have tried everywhere - and this place CONSISTENTLY is great. I don't like super sweet boba drinks and this place is finally a spot that doesn't put what seems like a gallon of sugar (& artificial at that!) in everything. You can taste the tea, you can taste the flavor - it's perfect. My absolute favorites are the strawberry green tea, mango green tea, super fruit tea, and the mint sparkling one :) read more

This review is a few months late. I placed an online order for pickup (at the time, I believe they did not do face-to-face in-person ordering and were not allowing people to sit indoors), I ordered a crown cream oolong with 50% sweet and no ice, and my partner ordered a grapefruit green tea, 50% sweet and less ice. Both really weren't sweet at all, no wonder Nomi Tea's website suggests trying the drinks at 100% sweetness level the first time and then adjusting in the future if you still want less sweetness. So this place would be a good option if you prefer your tea on the less sweet side. The oolong was alright; since the cream is at the top of it, you should probably use a straw or else you'll probably get most of the cream in the beginning of drinking it and then it'll just be mostly plain tea for the rest. I also thought the grapefruit green tea was fine but didn't particularly stand out. They also had some BTS themed drinks on the menu - probably more of a marketing gimmick since I recall hearing that a long time ago they had some BTS special cups, but those seem to be predominantly non-caffeinated drinks. read more

I love this place because this is THE ONLY boba place that uses real fresh Taro, which I love and NOT the fake purple mix so there's actually bonded chunks of taro in it. They also really honor their level of sweetness, so I don't feel so guilty having boba with the fresh taro and almond milk with 25% sweetness. Thanks Nomi!! read more

This spot is a welcome addition to Solano where there are not many boba options. This rating is based off just the Peach oolong tea with boba and non dairy creamer I ordered on the weekend. DRINK: The tea flavor is pretty good and the normal sugar level was perfect for me and I usually get 50% sugar at most places. On their menu they suggest trying the recommended 100% if it is your first time and I completely agree. The boba was soft and chewy, but did not particularly stand out. Overall, the price is a bit high ($7 after tax and tip) but this is a very solid option. ORDERING AND PICK UP: As of August 2022 their indoor space is still not open to customers and you still have to order online. My drink was ready in about 10 minutes, but the site automatically gives you an estimate of 15 minutes. Plenty of parking on Solano as well as the side streets, though it can get a little busy on the weekends on a nice day. OVERALL: 4.5/5 This is a good spot to try if you're on Solano and have a boba craving, they have a variety of milk teas and fruit teas, I'll definitely try more in the future. read more

I'm not sure why I'm surprised that this is a pretty solid boba spot, but it is! My husband ordered a hot oolong milk tea, 0% sweet, and it was just to his liking (he ended up wanting a little sweetness in the end, but was appreciative of the tea in general). I got an oolong milk tea (iced) with boba, 25% sweet, and it was delicious! Highly recommend, they're really great about tinkering with sweetness levels. Service was quick and very friendly. I like that it was very clean inside, and they were polite with us and understanding of my crying baby :) read more

I ordered an oolong MT with less ice and 25% sweetness. I really liked the milk tea from this place that I forgot to take a picture of my drink! It has a strong tea flavor which I honestly love. I would come back here again to try other drinks as well as take pics of what I get! read more

It's okay. Not the best boba spot but not the worst. I got the purple milk which is just taro milk tea. They have a lot of specialty drinks but no descriptions and lack of photos to know what they are. I asked the cashier some questions and she didn't seems to know much on it but it was still good service. Inside seats are a little dated for how new they are. I think I got the banana milk last time and it was good. read more

Go-to place for boba. I like all the variety of milk teas, fruit teas, and slushies to choose from. It's great that you can customize them up the wazoo - grass jelly, popping boba, heart jelly, etc. and the amount of sugar/ice you'd like. Plus, they have special drinks for the BTS fan in you. Their drinks are good-sized and a real happiness treat. read more

Wahoo! Bubble tea in just a short walk from home! Rather dangerous though, since the kids will pass by this on their walk over to Marin elementary. Nomi Tea is still working on a few things, including their hours. They were closing at 7PM when we (husband, 2 kids, and I) went, so we were glad we were able to make it to try this place. We got 4 drinks, and the total was over $20, which is just a bit more than our usual total at other boba places. We got the following - Mango slush - the kids shared this, and both kids were a huge fan of it. The slush wasn't too sweet, which we parents felt so much better since we believe there isn't as much sugar as a mango slush elsewhere. Berry Berry Matcha - real berries, mixed in with the matcha. Not too sweet (the theme here), and can actually taste both the matcha and the berries. Not bad! Premium milk tea with dark brown sugar pearls (x2 - one for me and one to go for my bro) - their 100% sweet is around equivalent to 50% sweet elsewhere. The dark brown sugar pearls cost a bit more than the regular, and the premium uses fresh milk instead of non-dairy creamer. The tea flavor was great, but I was unimpressed by the pearls, as they didn't have the dark brown sugar flavor, and they were very soggy! Couldn't tell the difference between these pearls and the regular ones in the mango slush. First impression is that maybe they do better with the fruit drinks here. They have a watermelon green tea drink that looked very good, so maybe I'll try that one next. They make their own syrup for sweetness and it's less sweet than other boba shops, which is great (for me). I usually get my stuff 50% sugar, but I don't need to modify that here because it's not as sweet by default. Excited to try the fruit drinks and the various jellies they have here. Maybe the boba was just off when I went, but I usually do like the jellies a bit more! read more

It's so nice to finally have a place that serves some good bubble tea in Albany. This is a brand new boba shop so please do note that right now they are doing a soft opening. I recall that the time they are open currently is 12-7pm. Parking might be difficult since it is on Solano and it is street parking. If you can't find street parking you could always do side street parking. When you enter the shop, it has a nice warm welcoming vibe to it along with a lot of open space. While their seats are comfy, I wouldn't recommend coming here to study because they do not have outlets. The staff in general are nice and they do speak loud when orders are up. I ended up getting the mango green tea along with lychee jelly and my boyfriend got the passion fruit green tea. He first asked if he could get it less sweet and the cashier told us that their teas are home made and are less sweet than other boba shops. My boyfriend still opted for the less sweet on his drink and he was happy he did that. He said his drink was still sweet even with the "less sweet" option. My drink was overall pretty good and it wasn't as sweet compared to my boyfriend's drink. I will say that if you want toppings on your drinks they are an extra $0.50 for each topping so that makes the drinks a bit pricy. Overall though, I would come back to try out more drinks that they offer. read more

A great new choice for boba in the nice area of Solano. Be prepared to taste more of the tea here. There's no need for sugar customization because it's mildly sweet compared to other boba joints. I appreciate that you can actual taste your tea of choice rather than all the syrups. Very clean and sleek interior with about 12 very comfortable seating areas. You can bring back your cup or bring your own and get $.25 off your next drink. The cups are quite sturdy. Good on them for trying to be environmentally friendly. They still use plastic straws, but I appreciate the effort. We got the cream oolong and regular milk tea with boba. The boba had a nice chew and taste. Enjoyed both and it didn't give me a sugar rush. Will definitely be back with my reusable cup! read more

This was the fourth and last BTS cupsleeve we went to before flying back home to Hawaii. We came on 03/20/2022 and as of that date, the inside of the shop was not opened to the public. You have to order via their website or the QR code on the window. They have a table set up blocking entrance inside so order ahead of time if you can and pickup your drinks. Since it was a cupsleeve event we waited about 20 minutes to get our drinks. Their boba was definitely different than what I was used to. For example, a lot of the BTS fruit drinks we ordered tasted like it had club soda in it or carbonated water. If you're not used to that kind of taste, I can see how it's off-putting to have a sparkling fruit tea LOL. But I actually quite enjoyed. The fruit teas in Hawaii don't have a sparkling taste to it so for me it was nice! Overall, it was located on the main road so make sure to find street parking nearby or by Safeway (we parked by Safeway and quickly made our order and left). I thought the town it was located it was nice and quiet. I would definitely come back. The only reason why I gave it 4-stars is because it would have been nice if their dining area was open to sit and relax. The cupsleeve decorations were on the exterior which is fine, but would have been more enjoyable in person. read more
