This location of Presotea is located near Downtown Berkeley. Small shop, but there was some seating. Not much service, as I ordered ahead. My drink was not ready yet, as the boba was not ready yet, but it was only about another 5-8 minutes. I had this chain before in Sacramento and SoCal before and it was okay, so my expectations were not that high. I ordered a jasmine milk tea at 70% sugar and less ice with their panda boba (half boba and half crystal boba) and grass jelly. The milk tea had a good creaminess to it, which I liked. read more

I love this place, their flavors are tasty and they're always running promotions. Today I stopped by and if you roll the dice the number you get gives you a certain discount how fun. There's claw machines inside, fun seating arrangements, and the workers are super friendly. I love the mango cream smoothie here. read more

Sorry but this is like one of those early 2000s era boba shops that are just made of artificial flavoring and syrups :'( I got a Lychee Mango Fruit Tea ($7.31). It was like two separate layers of tea + mango puree that could never fully mix together. The tea portion was alright, standard black tea with some lychee flavor that I asked for 0% sugar for. But the mango puree was just pure sugar that stayed put at the bottom of the cup no matter how much I tried to stir it and I kept getting mouthfuls of sugary goo. Extremely unenjoyable until the puree was all gone and only the lychee tea was left. The location seems to be run by nice people and they had some displays for cute free trinkets though! But I guess there's only so much they can do to improve the quality of a store that's part of a huge chain. read more

I came in evening so parking was easy to find. I ordered on the kiosk and got a strawberry milk tea with no sugar, and boba. The drink tasted like just strawberry milk so I asked the staff if she can add more tea. She did. It was good after that! There's a cute area where you can choose one freebie. I got a little keychain. Small spot but fun. You can tell they are being creative to make your experience memorable. read more

Convenient and refreshing tea in a cute setting! I ordered the osmanthus oolong iced tea, which was prepared quickly. It had good flavor, and there are many options to customize your drink. There are a few spots to sit and enjoy your drink inside Presotea, and the ambience is very cute and fun. They have a table of stickers and trinkets that you are free to take from, and they have a few claw machines. Like the setup and the staff. My disappointment is in the drinks. There's a whole row of containers in the back.. looks like they're for the fruit syrup? I was hoping for more natural flavors and texture because the strawberry peach felt really weird to drink. The milk tea option was fine though. Ordered no sugar, no ice, and with egg pudding. This place just opened and decided to give it a chance despite its very few reviews. i got a creme brulee brown sugar milk boba and my bf got the mango smoothie with sweet cream. i didn't like my drink all too much, but my bfs was much tastier. the creme brûlée came in a large, normal sized cup and the creme brûlée wasn't seared at the top like those drinks normally do? it was mixed throughout the drink which i thought was a little odd. the inside is cute and i love seeing new businesses pop up. they even laid out free little treats for customers. i would be back to try something else on the menu! read more

This new boba shop just opened and will probably be one of my favorites in the area! I stopped by on the opening weekend and was blown away by the quality of the drinks and the friendly of the staff. They have a menu with a huge selection I tried one of the milk tea and you can definitely taste the quality of the tea. You can adjust the sugar level, and unlike some boba places this place gets the levels just right and they have 5 levels of sweetness to choose from. The store is super cute and clean. The line moves very quick and the staff is super enthusiastic. If you are in this area you should definitely come check this place out! read more

Wow. Some of the best milk tea I've had in Berkeley. I ordered the White Peach Oolong Milk Tea with jelly boba. SO DELICIOUS. I normally don't crave milk tea but I miss that white peach oolong drink. Rich milk tea flavor balanced with the perfect hint of peach. The jelly boba paired super well with the drink. Great service and environment too! I love that their business allows you to pick up a free trinket with your drink. And our drinks were ready super fast despite it looking like a one woman show. Came here to try it and it was good! Parking was available around the corner in the residential area. I got a brûlée tea with pudding and it was delicious! They have a few tables inside and games to play. Overall very chill vibe, no one was sitting inside when I went. Overall drink was great, price point was okay, and portion is good. Brand new boba place in Berkeley that just opened in December 2024. I was worried the quality of the drinks would be poor since it's new, but surprisingly my expectations were exceeded and I loved my drinks! The Jasmine milk tea leans more on the tea side but it's still milky at 70% sweetness. I went back the next day to try a Coconut Milk Tea and I think the coconut is my new favorite! (I have to custom order it and the employees told me to just order a mango coconut milk tea but write down that I want coconut in the notes). The owners and employees are all very nice and helpful. Wow! Finally, this side of town gets a boba shop and it is high quality. They open at 8 am and my dream of breakfast boba has come true. I guess normal people can get coffee and whatnot if they don't want breakfast boba. My mom says this is the best boba she's had in her life--and she has had a LOT of boba for an elder--though I like mine a little more al dente. One unique feature of this boba is that it doesn't get hard after sitting around a while, which means you can appreciate it all day if you don't happen to wolf it down in the first 20 minutes like I do. Another unusual but appreciated feature is that they adjust the overall sweetness by taking into account the mix-ins or toppings. I am used to doing this myself (like if I know a sweet syrup or puree is going to be added, I adjust the sweetness accordingly) but they do it for you, which is atypical and thoughtful. They also brew the tea on demand so they don't have vats of tea sitting around all day waiting to be purchased. I haven't seen this anywhere else. Hojicha with wintermelon was something I hadn't seen before and had actual chunks of the melon, which I had never had in all my boba-eating life, which is about 25 years. The champagne milk tea doesn't have dairy even though the kiosk says it does, and it is great with oat milk. It has a floral, fruity element though it is a malty black tea. My aforementioned mother loves the peach oolong. The proprietor says this is a Taiwanese chain that uses its own tea. My mom tried to buy straight tea leaves from them but they don't sell them at the store and I can't figure out how to buy from them online so I will poke around online after I post this review. read more

Stopped by for their BOGO special, tried the following: Thai Milk Tea + boba | 70% sweet | less ice Jasmine Milk Tea + boba | 70% sweet | less ice | oatmilk Boba was ... unique? Not the expected chewiness, tastes like it was carved out of dense black jelly. If you enjoy grass/black pudding, you may like. Possibly was just really old. Boba also lacked flavor. Drinks tasted watered down, as if 30% water was added to the drinks to acheive the 70% sweetness. Strong green tea taste! Might be safer to get 100% sweetness. Friendly and welcoming vibes, on University Ave in downtown Berkeley, so parking can be tough to find. Pretty sure they are still working on the interior as they recently opened. Would recommend they reconsider their boba options and milk tea recipes if they hope to compete with the already established shops in the area. read more

The place is really cute and the workers are nice but I got a brown sugar milk tea with boba for 7.50 and it literally tastes like watery earl grey tea and I can count the amount of boba on one hand. I'm looking at the other reviews who got like the same thing I did and am a bit confused... making me think they gave me a drink that's been sitting and the ice melted into it bc that's the way it tastes and the boba is soggy.... (If that makes sense) the drink is supposed to be milk tea with syrup, but as u can see it looks nothing like it should or what the picture showed. My bf and I had a thai tea and wintermelon hojicha tea and they both tasted like water with barely any flavor. We also ordered only pudding in the wintermelon tea but it came with little brown bits at the bottom that were not pleasant to eat. The boba in the thai tea was powdery, not chewy.
