Came here on a weekday around noon, and it wasn't busy at all! Ordering and waiting for my drink was super quick. The interior is very clean, modern, and bright, definitely gives off a nice "pick-me-up" vibe. There are a few limited tables, but still had a good amount of seating options. The staff were fast and friendly, which was great since there was no rush. For ordering, I recommend entering from the back, where you can easily order from the kiosk. Then, head to the other side to pick up your order at the window. Make sure to have your order number and receipt ready to show them! I ordered the King Guava Jasmine. It was pretty tasty and definitely lived up to the hype! As a big fan of guava, I enjoyed the flavor, though I would say it was more on the citrusy side than sweet, which I personally liked. The highlight of the drink was definitely the cream at the top - so good! My only minor notes are that it's slightly pricey, and they have limited non-dairy options. Stopped by to try their newest drink, the King Guava Jasmine, and it's my new favorite drink from Heytea! I don't know how they do it but it's a perfect balance between the two flavors. You'd think the guava would overpower the jasmine but it doesn't! It also has that signature creaminess that I love in their drinks. I have a sweet tooth and the default sweet level is perfect for me. Just like all the other locations, this spot is super busy but the staff are efficient and constantly pumping out drinks. They only had one kiosk open when I dropped by so I highly recommend ordering ahead on the app to save yourself some time. I was quite surprised by how much I liked it they offer lots of fruit tea, matcha, and milk teas. Wow I had seen lots of Boba places with long lines but have a smooth system for getting the drinks out quickly. This place has it down to a Science. This place was super busy it seemingly went fast. My friends and I stopped by Heytea today for the first time and I was truly impressed with the quality of their drinks. Like my other favorite spot -- Chicha San Chen, I feel like the quality of the tea really stands out in the drinks here. That said, quality does not come cheap, nor is it fast. Due to how busy Heytea was, our order took about 30 minutes to be prepared. Major props to the hard working staff here: during the time that we were sitting inside waiting for our drinks, not a single staff member dropped a beat making drinks, because orders were coming in non-stop both in-store, and from their online ordering system. I would definitely recommend ordering a drink with their cloud foam, like their cloud jasmine tea. Most boba places serve cheese foam these day, but the one here is especially thick and decadent. This is easily one of my favorite chains to pop up as of recent. The drinks are fire, from the creative drinks to the tea to the toppings. I'm glad they're starting to have a bigger presence in the bay~ My partner and I spotted this location while downtown and popped in for a drink. SUPER CROWDED, holy cow. So many students. Had a chance to try Heytea's new Cloud Longjing Latte with Buckwheat with my sister through their 2-for-1 deal. We ordered through the app at home and picked up the drink from the storefront not too long after. The place was popping when we arrived near closing time, and the staff were pushing out drinks with the quickness! The store is pretty minimal in decor, a lot of seating but very tight space and not ideal for large groups. For my drink, I switched out the matcha cloud (default) with cheese cloud, less ice, regular sweetness. I noticed my tea was VERY strong and less milky than my sister's cup. The strength was almost espresso level! Because mine was less milky, the strength of the tea felt very concentrated on the tongue instead of dispersing throughout my mouth. I wasn't too keen on that. Flavor-wise, it was very bitter, warm, roasted, and rich, almost like a dark dark chocolate or strong espresso! Personally, it's not my taste, but the quality was definitely above average. I've not seen any other cafes or boba spots serve longjing tea (it was my first time trying it!), so come and try it yourself before it's gone! read more

For the matcha lovers, this is the place for you! Heytea has been frequently recommended to me and they did not disappoint. Their matcha is of high quality. I don't normally order lattes, but the iced matcha cloud latte was amazing - frothy, earthy, and thick. Their mango drinks are also very delicious - my friend's favorite (and he barely craves boba drinks). 50% sugar or less is enough for it to not overtake the creamy and tartness of the mango. I'm hesitant to say it's quite a 3 star but maybe it was my specific experience this one time a few weeks ago when I ordered the Coconut Mango Boom and it was more watery than I had hoped. The place is nice for what it is, a meetup spot for many Cal students and plenty of foot traffic as well since it's right next to the BART station and on Shattuck. The drink itself was okay, and wasn't nearly as impressed as the hype made it up to be. At first maybe it was me but after a few friends also tried my drink they did note that comparative to theirs it was indeed more watery than either coconut or mango flavored. Personally I believe that a drink with fruits should already be sweet enough, I've been to other places where this has largely been true rather than the exception and have often enjoyed mango forward drinks because the natural sweetness is something that is refreshing In short, I would maybe consider adding some sugar to offset the lack of any sweetness but it felt more as if I was drinking an ice slushie with mango infused water despite the appearance seemingly appearing like a mango slushie. The mangos could have very well been out of season or unripe but still doesn't quite justify the drink being almost an ice smoothie. That said the last time I was here I did enjoy my drink, I do believe I got one of their cloud drinks but regardless this review is a reflection of the drink just being too watery to be even worth the $7 anyone would pay for I would come back mostly cause their selection is more unique but if the consistency isnt there it's something I'd prefer to warn others about read more

While I'm desperately wishing for a HEYTEA location in Contra Costa County (please bring it to Walnut Creek!), I'm glad there's at least one in the East Bay. However, they are on the pricy side so it's not something I would get often. I came by the Berkeley location on a Saturday morning right as soon as they opened at 11 am, and it wasn't crowded at all. This location is very long and narrow and a decent amount of seating for small groups. I wish their menu was a bit more descriptive of what their boom and cloud drinks are, as it's not clear to me. Since mulberries are in season, I tried the mulberry strawberry boom for $7.49. I got my drink 10 minutes later. I couldn't really taste the strawberries in the drink, but I could definitely taste the mulberries! There were a lot of them. Hey now, HeyTea is where it's at! I've heard great things about this tea chain from China and am so happy to have finally tried it! This is a newly beloved spot amongst Cal students. The shop is quite small and narrow with entrance/exit doors on both sides. The shop is bright, clean, and minimalistic with the smell of floral tea. The workers are efficient and there are a few areas to sit. I chose to order ahead on their mobile app to take out, which I encourage others to do! If there's one thing my friends know about me is that I go crazy over green grapes. I can eat an embarrassing amount in a sitting. So anytime I see grape offered I get excited. I had to try the Green Grape Boom which was delicious! I got it with less ice and less sweetness which allowed the grape flavor to shine. Loved how there were fresh grapes inside with a light and fragrant tea base. A very refreshing drink. HeyTea has a few locations in the Bay Area plus SoCal, Washington, and New York. This is one of their newer Bay Area spots. I look forward to coming back to try their offering of drinks! I am a BIG heytea fan, and I have to admit... this is not my favorite location. It's basically a super long narrow hallway, but there's a decent amount of seating. Definitely order on the app if you can. My friend and I tried their very hyped up matcha options. Grape drinks I hear are good too. In general, it's good! There's two doors to get in the business and it's pretty small. A line of seats along the wall with small tables and there are maybe 2 tables of 4. It's can feel packed easily. I love HeyTea and I'll definitely come back. It reminds me a lot of Zero&. Heard a new boba place opened up in downtown Berkeley, so my husband and I had to come check it out. Please do note there are two entrances and both ways you can actually order via a QR code. You can also order in person too if you would like that. The interior of this boba place is very nice. It has a nice white wall that just gives off a cozy ambiance vibe. There are seats lined up against that wall, but it does get pretty loud here since the space is pretty tiny. I did like that everything they make here is fresh and you can even watch them brew the tea and make your boba fresh. I will say that this place has some good choices with a lot of milk tea drinks and cheese foam drinks. You cannot add any toppings, at least I didn't see any ability to do that so if you like your toppings then maybe here is not the place for you. Overall, it's a nice place to check out, but unfortunately for me they didn't have very many just fruit tea drinks without the cheese foam so I was only able to order a hot jasmine tea, which was okay. read more

I thought Heytea was going to be overhyped, but it's actually so good. I love that they're so transparent about what goes into the drink -- if you download the app, they have a diagram of each drink component and the nutritional facts of each one. This place is a bit narrow, which makes it kinda odd since you can enter from two different sides. The interior is v nice but also v crowded. Once you order, they have a little display on the left with all their order numbers so you can monitor the progress of your drinks there! I always order the cloud mango or the matcha jasmine latte. Cloud mango is super refreshing, and the cheese cloud makes it so balanced and creamy. I prefer this over the other mango drinks (eg. grapefruit mango boom)! I also love to do their matcha jasmine latte (with sugar-free sweetener!) when I want something more heavy/caffeinated. I recently tried their new guava drink too and didn't regret it, but it's not my favorite as the flavor isn't that strong.
