I have a degree in Interior Design and way back when...not long out of art school at all, IKEA was…read moremy first design-related job. I got hired to work at the Pittsburgh location which is actually in Robinson Township very close to the Pittsburgh International Airport. My room sections were bedrooms, in which I was responsible for the design and layout, executing it all myself. So now, let's talk about IKEA. I am a huge fan and have been since prior to their expansion into the U.S. market. As a student, I had access to materials for furniture and decor from all over the world. And of course, when I was just starting out with my first apartment, everything was IKEA from top to bottom. All of the stores pretty much have the same setup (there may be one or two small differences). What it boils down to for me is the availability of items, i.e., do they have what I want in stock? These days, I am more of an accessories shopper or having lunch at the cafe, and stocking up on those sweet, sweet Swedish goodies. This location has everything I need and want anytime I swing by. The value and pricing IKEA has always been known for are still there, though they too have seen increases over the years. And even though it is a self-service concept, employees are always available to assist and are happy to do so. IKEA & this location get an A+ from me.

LOVE IKEA, such a great place. Popped in to specifically get new kitchen towels, 4 for $5.99 and…read morethey finally got a new pattern in stock. I use the frequently and they are very sustainable, reusable and hold up great. I just washed them and the black/white ones were the only ones to shrink up a bit. Otherwise, all look great. Service was pretty basic as it was only during check out when having them oversee the purchase.

Thank goodness for this home depot close to me. There are so…read moremany things you can only get from this store its just so convenient. Salt fir the water softener, paint made and m8x specially for your tone of wall, small and big things, you name it, you get it here. I had always have a very good experience every time I've been here. It's my neighborhood store for years to come.

I had a very disappointing experience with an assistant manager at the Georgetown, Texas Home Depot…read morewhile trying to resolve an issue regarding a washer and dryer purchase totaling over $1,000 that I had been told would be delivered that day. When I called for clarification, the assistant manager was dismissive and unhelpful. She insisted that my sister -- who lives in Chicago -- would need to come into the Georgetown store in person to resolve the issue. That is not realistic and certainly not reasonable for a delivery issue involving a $1,000+ major appliance purchase. She also suggested there may have been an issue because my sister's bank is "out of state." This explanation does not make sense. Many customers use banks or credit unions headquartered outside of Texas. Modern banking does not require a financial institution to be locally based in order to process a transaction. The comment felt inaccurate and dismissive. Additionally, she indicated that speaking with another manager would not change the outcome and suggested there was no avenue for further review or escalation. The message was clear that no one at the store level was willing to step in to reassess or attempt to resolve the situation. Instead of working toward a solution, there was no meaningful effort to clarify the delivery issue or provide assistance. For a $1,000+ appliance purchase, customers deserve clear communication, professionalism, and problem-solving -- especially when delivery is involved. Customers should never feel like a burden when attempting to spend significant money at a store. If this level of service is standard practice, I would encourage others to consider taking their business to a retailer that values and supports its customers.
