I used to stop at this Goodwill regularly, but lately it feels like a complete waste of time and gas. Their new AI pricing system is wildly out of touch with reality. I'll walk the aisles and see donated items--things they literally received for free--priced the same as, or even higher than, what you can buy brand new at a retail store or online. The whole point of a thrift store used to be finding affordable secondhand items and giving donated goods a second life. Now it feels like they're trying to squeeze every last dollar out of things that were donated by the community in the first place. I often leave empty-handed after spending time and fuel to get there, because the prices just don't make sense. If this keeps up, I'll probably stop going altogether. A thrift store should feel like a place where the community benefits--not a place where shoppers feel like they're paying boutique prices for used goods. I came to bring something back and they didn't want to take it. Their receipt states a tag with the receipt I had that it doesn't state the stickers that are behind the plates that I came to bring back the have Lead! I will never shop at Goodwill again. This Goodwill in Cedar Park can be considered a full-sized store. All the knickknacks, glassware, pictures, and miscellaneous have their own aisles so that they are not sitting on top of the clothing racks. They have a vast selection of women's clothing and six dressing rooms to use. They have a decent amount of furniture and even appliances and electronics. They also sell new clothes, hats, socks, and shoes in case you don't want to buy used. All in all, this place is reasonably merchandised and orderly. If you are an avid thrifter, this would be a good stop, and the photos prove it. read more

Are the Goodwill employees working the drop off area at this location LAZY or is it REALLY Goodwill's policy preventing them from helping donors unload donated items? Yesterday, my wife and I loaded up her truck bed full of items we wanted to donate to Goodwill. She drove over to the Goodwill location on Whitestone in Cedar Park. Two men, employees, were working (standing) in the drop off area. She pulled up to where they were standing and asked if they could help her offload the donated items in the bed of her truck. The items were mainly bags of clothes, so the items weren't very heavy, just numerous bags. They told her that because of Goodwill's policy, they could not help her offload the items. Keep in mind, the items were being DONATED to Goodwill. Goodwill will take the FREE items and SALE the items for a 100% monetary profit! Also, she and I bagged up the clothes, loaded them into the bed of the truck, spent our gas money and time to drive over to Goodwill so we could donate/give that store FREE items to sale and profit from. Two men could not help her unload the items they were getting for FREE?? Goodwill, you just lost many future donations and customers from this family! We will be donating all our items to the Salvation Army going forward. read more

I encountered the most incredibly rude man when stopping to drop a small box of office supply. He began screaming at me to get back in my car as I opened my tailgate. There were two attendants and only one car in front of me. He instructed his partner to stay with him. I was not in a hurry but don't appreciate being screamed at. He is obviously mentally unstable and should not be allowed to assist in donations if dealing with the public. This is not a safe place for a single woman to donate. I left and found an expectedly pleasant attendant at another location. read more

This GW is out of touch. Their prices are more than what it would've been brand new. Just a few examples provided in the pictures. Nativity scene that each place was separate with the total cost of about $50, used mason jars for $3.50 & my personal favorite, little gumball machines priced at 12 bucks originally $3 new. Today, I went to this Goodwill in search of a few items for my daughter. I often come to this location as it is by far one of the most pristine Goodwill locations I have ever been to. In addition, the quality items of items found here is far superior to most locations. The only caveat about this location is that the "new" merchandise is over priced (even for a discount retailer). Some Goodwills are hit and miss, especially when it comes to there more upscale ones, since they carry the same stuff as the smaller ones but at a slightly higher price. However I do find cool stuff here every now and then. This is also the only store where I've seen an employee confront a customer who had their mask on their chin instead of their mouth. Also, there is a cashier there with a super thick southern accent, and she deserves a raise! She was the most friendly cashier I've had the pleasure to meet as far back as I can remember! A bright, clean, large Goodwill with helpful staff. Very cool, and a nice departure from some of their outlets. Particularly good selection of used clothes for sale. A bit lacking in cookware/appliances and used books, but of course YMMV. Pro Tip: This outlet is a bit hard to locate, as it's hard to see from the road. When you turn into Walmart off of Whitestone Blvd, bear to the left and you should be able to find it. read more

Talk about a clutter trashy store....this is it! Some of the staff are incredible I found and yet there are so many that aren't including management. I met the lady just recently and now I understand why the store is in the condition it is in. I literally watched her and listened to her.....and nope she's the wrong one for the job. Filthy cluttered and so overpriced compared to the other stores Goodwills and even.....Dillards? They overprice their items and for the most part, some of those items could or would have sold maybe more but then before long they are pulling them off the shelf, breaking most of the items in the process.....so instead of making a sale they would rather trash it. If they would only price accordingly they could sell more. Aisles are cluttered, everything is unorganized and old...broken items on the shelves. Just a dump and I blame the manager because she doesn't know what she is doing. Additionally...don't be fooled when they ask you to "round up" for education. There is no education programs in the Austin area. That's a fat lie and you can verify that with any employee. Now...they are being told there is one but there is not. Finally, the employees are working in such horrid conditions. There is no A/C in the warehouse so instead they put a large fan in the space instead of repairing or replacing the AC system. All the stores are all like that!!!!!!!! Upper management should be ashamed as they sit in A/C and draws a large paycheck. CROOKS! read more

There's a lot of women's clothing, though it's lacking in the men's department. Like any thrift store, this place has a lot of junk but some gems like brand-new designer purses and clothing. It's a great place for a bargain and I have been a regular customer for years, just don't go in the restrooms; they're disgusting. read more

I purchased a tripod. The picture showed all legs in working order, but when the item arrived the middle legs do not lock as they are broken. The purchase price was $7.99, shipping over $24! They offered to refund my $8 and let me keep the trash, or have me ship it back and take a %10 restock penalty. I feel they are dishonest and this feels like a trap. read more

They need to update their website. Driving around the Austin area is not just inconvenient it is very potentially dangerous especially in Cedar Park. I went a good distance to this establishment because of the information on their website. When I got there they would not accept my items due to policy changes that were contrary to the information on their website. read more

I went here for women's tops. The prices were high. It the store was clean and didn't smell bad. Tops start at $6.99. That was a pretty high price especially for used Walmart and Jc penny brands considering that you can buy new stuff at those stores for the same price. Despite what the dumbass poster before me would have you believe, this really is not a terrible Goodwill store. It's got a lot of crap, true, but it also has some really good deals on used but quality items. I myself found a pair of work boots in pretty good condition that would have sold for like 50 bucks, for 12 here. Not to mention that I almost always do my Halloween shopping at these stores. As for the rude staff, I personally have never had a serious problem with anyone here or at any other Goodwill. It is a possibility, though, since Goodwill Industries does make a point of putting people with criminal backgrounds or other barriers to employment to work. But at least these people are getting a job and an opportunity to better their lives. Unfortunately, that may translate to bad service at times, but let's be honest, this is a Goodwill. What do you expect, a valet and a butler? But for a Goodwill store, this place is perfectly fine. read more

My daughter was checking out with the cashier. The cashier asked if she would like to round up. My daughter said no thank you. The cashier then said thank you and rounded up and proceeded to keep the change. I confronted the cashier and said that my daughter said, "No thank you". The cashier just stared at me. I said it again to her. Again she stared. It was a small amount, 36 cents but it's about the principal. The lady probably does this all day this the amount at the end of the day is probably more than I make. So beware of the thief at the register. read more

I don't know what the bad reviews are about. This is the greatest Goodwill that I have seen! I have never seen so many brand names in one thrift store! I saw clothes from Hollister, GAP, and American Eagle. I also bought my prom dress here! And that was during prom season. I also saw some beautiful wedding dresses which were in great shape! On the day I bought my dress, while I was in the checkout line, there was a lady who bought a real Coach purse with very little signs of use. And recently, I bought a great pair of skinny jeans. I am five feet tall and have thick thighs so it's hard to find those even in regular stores! But the pair I found here did not even looked used and had an AWESOME shade and design. Regarding the employees, I am asumming that there are many since I have not seen one twice. I have found all to be kind and helpful. One even gave me another dress to try on when I went into the dressing room!! Just because one is having a bad day does not mean you should ditch this store. Also, do not walk out simply because of a first impression. I can assure you that if you look within the racks, you WILL find great things. Regardless of anything, GO HERE. read more

Goodwill Central Texas seems to have this odd cycle that it goes through every so often. It's as if some new bigwig comes in and has this bright idea to double the prices. So some days, like today, you'll see used sweaters with pulls or pills priced at $17.99. Uh, no thanks. Next comes the stage where there is so much stuff crammed onto the racks that it's physically cumbersome to even look through them. Then eventually, they remember that they're a thrift store, they come back to earth, and the prices come back down. For awhile, anyway, until the cycle starts again. Normal prices should be around 3.99-4.99 for tops, and 7.99-9.99 for dresses. Maybe a little more if they still have retail tags. If you see prices substantially higher, they're in "We think we're a boutique" mode. But it won't stay that way long, I've seen this cycle countless times. read more

I love Goodwill! I frequent them often and have nothing against a great deal. Although, this one I gave a 3/5 just because it's sorta unorganized compared to the other's I've been to around. Utterly OUTRAGEOUS prices! I picked up a horrible looking pig statue and it was $16.00!!! I pulled an ugly old coat off the rack and it was $20.00. Old pieces of plastic ware are priced higher than the exact same new item at the Dollar Tree further down the road. The ONLY things that are priced fairly are the books. When I refer friends to a Goodwill who are struggling financially and need to shop economically, I simply can't send them to this one. They are price gouging people who NEED to buy used items in order to live on a tight budget. I do not recommend this new Goodwill location. I really am done with Goodwill! Went here. MAYBE 8 shorts to pick from. Shorts with holes, and not the HIP holes. Actual holes and they want $5.99 for the shorts. I am a huge fan of all thrift stores. I buy the majority of my clothes and my kids' clothes at thrift stores. While I do feel like this Goodwill tends to overprice some things for used goods, it is very clean and it has some truly nice stuff. You will find expensive brand name clothes and household items here. I've never encountered any rude staff here, and I rarely have to wait beyond just 1 or 2 people in line in front of me. read more
