TLDR: A lot of good deals here -- great way to stock up on kids' stuff without breaking the bank. Streamlined selling process with a high purchase rate. Payout depends on resale value. Store is small so bulky items like cribs are not accepted. If you have a large item, call ahead to gauge interest. Bring your driver's license. This was my first time selling with them (any location) but the process was fairly straightforward. The employees could have been a bit more helpful (especially since I was struggling to drag multiple large items into the doorway) but they were easy to interact with and mostly pleasant. HOW IT WORKS: You bring your stuff. If it's in bags or bins of clothes/toys -- they limit it to two items per selling session. You scan the QR code on the counter and fill out the online form to register. They call your name and check you in. They give you a time estimate and you can either leave or stay in the store. You get a text message when your stuff has been reviewed. Note: they can only hold your stuff for about a day (24 hours, I believe) so plan accordingly. You come back and they tell you what they would like to buy and how much they will offer you for it. You can accept either cash or credit (same amount, you don't get more for choosing credit, like at Buffalo Exchange). Credit only makes sense if you're buying something else on the spot. They also return anything they don't want. Note: if you want to be in and out as fast as possible, get there 10-15 minutes before they open and wait outside the door so you can be first in line to sell. I've come several times at 10am and there's always someone there already. PURCHASE RATE: They took most of what I brought. I brought 2 large containers of clothes and toys and they took about 90% of it. I had already filtered to try to pull out anything damaged but I'm still very pleased with how much they bought. It also depends on their current inventory. I noticed they had a few baby carriers in stock -- assuming they will pay less or reject them altogether. PAYOUT: For used clothes, it won't be that high. Obviously, depends on brand and condition too. Same for other items. For instance, I brought a Baby Bjorn Bouncer (Bliss) in a discontinued color (clean, great condition, toy bar included). About $300 value originally. They offered me about $30. Not as much as I could get if I really invested effort in selling it online but not bad. Regarding my two aforementioned containers of clothes and toys, they paid $50. I had a few brand new (with tags) items so I feel like the payout was higher than usual. BULKY ITEMS: Please note that this store is pretty cramped and stuffed full of items for sale. They put their strollers outside but the inside doesn't leave much room for bulky items. As a result, they don't accept cribs. They might accept other large items depending on brand, whether it folds, condition, and what they currently have in stock. I saw a pack and play there but they may only have room for one at a time. It doesn't hurt to call and ask if you've got a large item and don't want to lug it in unnecessarily. They did accept a Regalo playpen I brought in (it did fold up though). PARKING: It's in a strip mall so parking is easy. Ultimately, I'm just happy to pass on my stuff (and keep it out of the landfill) and make a few bucks in the process. read more

I had previously gone to Once Upon a Child in Round Rock, but when I went to resell some of my kids' items, I realized that the Georgetown location was the closest one to me (I believe the RR location has since rebranded). This was a 30-minute drive for me from Pflugerville. I can only speak to the selling process at this location, which I think could be helpful for other people in my position. The store did not explain the process to me. I brought in a handful of items, and I was asked to provide my driver's license. They put my items in a bin and I was told that the store had a 2-hour backlog of items to go through. No problem; I drove back home and received a voice mail later that day that they were finished and I could come pick up my items. I returned the phone call and found out that I HAD to physically come back to the store within 24 hours to pick up any items they didn't want and to receive my credit for the items they wanted to keep. There is no other option. I explained that I was 30 minutes away (and I actually had to be out of town that day) and could they just let me know how much they were buying? No, they would not offer that information over the phone. So I rearranged my work trip schedule to add an extra hour on the road to drive to Georgetown and back, only to find out they were only offering to buy ONE item, at less than $2. So that likely didn't even cover my gas to drive there and back twice. If I had known, I wouldn't have even bothered to go back and pick up my items, which ended up going in the convenient clothes donation bin located behind the store in the parking lot. read more

LOVE this store and their amazing deals! We have taken advantage of so many of their weekend deals and are so thankful to have such affordable baby clothes in Georgetown! The staff are friendly, helpful, and efficient. I love that you can even sell items to them. I have been here four times now since they opened last week but my most recent visit was to sell items and WOW! This has been the best resell experience I've had. I've been to ALL of the other children's resell/consignment shops in central Texas and this location had the best payout and acceptance rate. I brought in two very packed buckets full of my son's old clothes. They took nearly 90% of it and dished out a nice chuck of cash for it all. It took about two days for them to go through everything cause they were packed but that was no problem for me. I'm really disappointed with how this store handled a recent situation. They posted some toys on sale, and since I live an hour away, I called to ask if they could hold them so I could come pick them up. I was told they have a policy where they can't hold anything posted on social media within 24 hours, which I've never heard of--especially not at other Once Upon a Child locations. The Southwest Austin store, for example, has always been understanding and happy to hold items when you're driving from far away. What made this worse is that I told them my husband could be there in 20 minutes, and they said, "Oh yeah, they most likely will be here." So my husband left work, drove over--and they had already sold the toy when he got there. No heads-up, no apology. Really upsetting experience. I understand "store policies", but you should at least write them down on your social media posts--especially for families going out of their way to support your store. You just opened your store--this is the time to build trust and attract loyal customers, not push them away with unclear or surprising policies. First impressions matter, and setting the tone with flexibility and good communication will go much further than rigid rules no one's heard of. Safe yourself a really bad experience and visit the southwest Austin location. Always a win! read more

I love buying clothes on resale, and Once Upon a Child has a great inventory with a massive amount of clothes. I've been several times and able to find stuff, but lately their store is so terribly disorganized and the sections poorly labeled. It's very difficult to find anything, and when you finally find something good it's not even worth the effort. They're selling old Cat and Jack shorts for $5 - that's how much they cost brand new at Target. Also this morning when I went they were playing very loud Christian worship music, which to someone with religious trauma is very unpleasant and made me want to leave and never come back. You're going to alienate pretty big demographics of shoppers if you try and make clothes shopping feel like a church service. I do not think I'll be back. read more

I have been here twice since they opened. The first time I came I was able to purchase 5 pairs of pants for my daughter for under $40. I was pleased with the quality of the clothing I purchased. When I got home I rounded up a handful of things to sell back (less than 10). They took it all and I feel the pay was fair. Of note, they don't have dressing rooms, but allowed us to go into the bathroom to try on clothes. read more

This location was a mess! Also, don't bother consigning with them because you will not get much as they pay out so little for anything, even name brand items! This store is also overpriced for what they offer. Nothing should be more than $5 in the entire store for used clothing and accessories items. You're better off spending the extra $1 on something new. read more

Been to many locations in three different sates and this one is OK at best. The store is super claustrophobic, more than other stores. They are over ran with over priced baby gear. Most of it's up on the top of the clothing racks so you can't even really look at it without getting someone to get the stuff down. The pieces that are on the floor weren't much less than a good sale at Target or Walmart. I couldn't tell you any prices for things outside because ALL of the strollers price stickers were sun faded. There was pretty much nothing in the toy area, which was small. Which was priced high, an Our Generation (Target 18" doll brand) toy set is $12 new with all pieces. You could have gotten it there for the low price of $10 and was missing some things. Most of the books were over priced if you could get them out of the shelf that was stuffed to full, it shook when I tried looking at a book. When looking at the clothing they seemed to separate pieces, a muslin set(Same color, size, and print) was $4.50 each piece each. Then there was a set of Disney overalls I got at Walmart last year for $12, with a shirt under the overalls. They are selling just the overalls for $10 missing the shirt. For employees the only time one talked to me was when I was at the check out. I was standing to check out while the employee was talking to another employee trying to look up something on the computer then said "Oh you want to check out?" Don't know if I'll be back at this one, even though its closer to me. It was very underwhelming. I've gotten better deals at the one in Round Rock. read more

Has amazing promotions and great customer service! My newborn grew out of her 0-3 quicker than anticipated and the 20 onesies for $10 promo was clutch! I also traded in some clothes for a $27 store credit. Altogether, baby got a new wardrobe for $60! This place is life changing, especially as a FTM. Have been to this location several times. It was great when it first opened but has gone downhill. EVERYTIME I come in I am never greeted, but that's fine, just a little awkward when no one else is in there. While I was shopping last time, two of the employees were talking SO loudly about burping and how they spray body spray everywhere when they burp in the store. A bit unprofessional. When you go to check out they treat you like an inconvenience for interrupting their conversation. I'm waiting at the counter to check out and they ignore you standing there and turn around and keep going with their conversation that wasn't business related, could understand if it was. I have worked both retail and service industry in the past and wouldn't treat customers like this. I also didn't get my free pajamas for my 6 month old that I'm in the club for. They probably forgot while being too focused on their conversation. I always spend over $100 when I come in. I have 3 kids under 3 so this is a place I really wanted to like and spend money at regularly. I appreciate the good deals and good brands that I find here, I was so excited for this store to open a little closer to home but now I don't think I will be back. The store was a disaster and lot of retail needed to be put out. Wasn't much to choose from recently. There were tags that were not matching the size of the clothing, and if I hadn't double checked I would've bought the wrong sizes due to being mistagged. I found a ton of baby onesies and other items that were covered in stains, literally looked like food all over them. I even accidentally bought a couple pairs of baby pajamas last time with poop stains on them. Most of the toddler t-shirts were way over priced. I highly recommend looking over your clothes really well before making a purchase. Spent $32 for TWO items. The outfit was 2 different sizes and the jacket had a huge hole in the front. Upon reaching out to the store was told to message them on instagram as it would be easier. The owner admitted that they missed it and apologized as they are new and learning. Was told to bring it back by no later than the Friday after Thanksgiving..couldn't make it until Saturday and was told it's too late and doesn't follow their business standards. Stated my frustration as I spent a good amount of money twice in their opening week. Got left on read...noted that this business must not care too much to take care of their customers. read more
