It also has a discount section in the back, a vintage clothing area, and an area for all kinds of books having to do with cats. If you are shopping for books in the Austin area or going on the Austin Book Trail, do not miss this shop.

They even have a large discounted book area towards the back of the store where you can easily find some gems from even $1.50. I've gotten a copy of The Secret History for only $4 in wonderful condition And hardback from that bookcase. There are plenty of places for you to take a seat and relax, try out your new potential book or wait for others in your party to shop. If you want/need information or have questions they are more than happy to help and love to have conversations about books with you. I love the creak of the floorboards while walking around and it is always a comfortable, cool temperature. There is also a selection of fun smaller items in store to purchase like posters, puzzles, DVDs, VHS tapes, postcards, and trinkets. They also hold events like a book club, workshop events like embroidery, and host authors for book discussions. They update the events frequently on their social media pages on Facebook and Instagram.

We were not welcomed with friendly faces, and the employees definitely had a watchful eye on us as we approached items on display. They kept glancing our way, expecting us to STEAL when in all actuality we were interested in buying a few of their items. My friend wanted to buy a blue jean jacket, under 10 dollars, but they left their wallet in the car. They made it known that they were going back to obtain it and handed the item to my other friend as I found my way to the restroom. As they walked out with their OWN Adidas jacket on their arm, the owner, Stefanie, shouted to a man in the store, "Andrew, call the cops!" Instead of assessing the situation, she sprung wildly into action. She chased after my friend to our car, GRABBING my friend's arm and then proceeded to dig through their bag and searched them to make sure they didn't steal from her thrift store. As she realized her accusation was, indeed, false, she proceeded to profusely say how sorry she was. Well, I'm sorry, too. I'm sorry that my friend had to be embarrassed and endure this harsh, crude treatment. Regardless of race and age, people should be treated like people. This was unacceptable.

Had a bad experience with Good Neighbor Lawn Care. I'd read the rave reviews and decided to give…read morethem a shot. We have less than a quarter acre in a subdivision, but paid them for mulch, a grass cut, and lawn treatment (you get three treatments) to get rid of some problem areas. This first visit totaled over $500 (most of the cost going to the lawn treatment) The first service was amazing. The mulch looked great, I know it was hard work for those guys. Two weeks had passed and I wondered when they were coming back, they said that they were doing the rotation every three weeks. The next week comes, and I hadn't heard anything, so I inquired and they said I was on the schedule the next day. After that cut, I noticed that they didn't apply any lawn treatment, and they had missed large parts of my lawn. Travis apologized about missing the areas, but then said that the grass was too dry to apply the treatment. Understandable, but when were they going to tell me that? So I paid $48 and had to do the remaining edging and flat areas. Three weeks later, I get another cut and a lawn treatment. This time the service was spot on. ($48 all said for the cut. Lawn treatment was paid for up front) Three weeks later, due for my next cut, absolutely nothing from them. At this rate, I cut the lawn myself. I pay the $50 precisely so I DON'T have to worry and babysit I let it ride for another week until the Friday after Labor Day, I don't hear anything so I texted Travis. He said that they were closed over the labor day holiday for four days, and they were playing catchup, but they "had me for this week." At this point, it has been FOUR WEEKS with no correspondence. I'm in over $600 to this company, I've only had 2/3 lawn treatments completed, and one of the scheduled cuts I had to finish myself, and I guess I'm just out of the extra $100 or so for the services they didn't complete. Tons of other options for a lower price. I'd heard from another friend that had the service that a similar thing happened, but at that time it was a "family emergency" but no correspondence was left and they just stopped showing up. All that said, this company would be fantastic if they just kept their customers up to date and had the appropriate backoffice talent to schedule appointments, track services rendered and keep things moving.
