Had another great experience with Tri-City Appliance. Our oven kept giving an error code. The manufacturer's website suggested unplugging for 30 seconds. Didn't help. Called Tri-City, they looked up the model, suggested we try again for 30 minutes before scheduling a service call. They also gave us estimated costs of likely repair parts and labor just in case. I bought a washer & dryer from this business about 4 years ago & here I am now leaving a review. The owner(I don't remember his name) was VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE about so much concerning W&Der''s. He definitely didn't recommend the foreign manufactured products. I told him about our purchase of a new Samsung refrigerator in September, '09 & the fact the ice maker quit working in January, '10! We were given a brand new fridge cause neither Conn's, where we purchased it, nor the manufacturers rep could get it fixed. Mr.Owner said that was fairly indicative of the poor quality of foreign manufactured products of any sort. Too bad Sears closed....that's where we bought our Kenmore products for years as our parents before us. I've not had the need for an appliance purchase since my W&D & hope I don't for a very long time! When I do need a new appliance I'll definitely go to Tri-City Appliance. After many hours of online researching for a new washer I discovered two things: First it all boils down to personal preference and Second there is no perfect model or manufacturer. Reliability, which is number one for me, doesn't exist. So I decided that the one controllable choice was where to make our purchase. We decided to check out Tri-City because they are a small business with amazing recommendations and reviews. Rodney explained the differences between several potentials and answered all our questions, he is very knowledgeable. There was 0 pressure to make a purchase. It was our fastest appliance purchase ever. Delivery was in less than 24 hours and Brycen was on time ( early) completely set up and removed our old machine and completely reviewed all of the washer features. He also started the machine to check proper operation. Much better than previous drop and run deliveries from big box stores. The entire process from purchase to ready to use was painless. And, if I ever need repairs I know who I will call. Unless you have your heart set on a brand they don't carry, don't waste your time at the big box stores. Each time the team was incredibly helpful from aiding in finding the model number and working through what part to order on the hood to discussing model options on a replacement washer. My refrigerator stopped running and I was in deep trouble, since I had just filled it with a couple hundred bucks worth of groceries. I called these folks who correctly diagnosed the problem as a worn-out thermostat over the phone. They walked me through a temporary fix, until their technician came out the following day. The technician installed a new thermostat which fixed the problem. The guy was polite and professional, as was the woman I dealt with on the phone. During the service call, I mentioned that the kick plate on my fridge had been broken for years, and asked how much a new one would cost. He advised that it would be 42 bucks, but said he might have a used one at the office that he would give me for free. To my surprise, he called a short time later, and said he had a used kick plate that would fit my unit. As promised, he gave it to me at no charge. I'm a customer for life now! read more

I called first thing on a Saturday morning to see if I could get my oven serviced. I told them it was a Samsung, and he responded that only Sears would work on it. So I called Sears. Long story short, the truth is that Sears is the only place that will work on a Samsung oven that's UNDER WARRANTY. Mine isn't. He never asked. So I went over a week waiting for a Sears repairman, who cancelled my appointment twice, before calling someone else to repair my Samsung oven with no problem. If you have never used Tri-City Appliance, you need to start, now. These are the absolute best folks, ever! We have been using Tri-City Appliance for, now, going on 12 years, and I really don't know what our family would do without them. That is, we live very much in the country, where very few appliance repair services will travel. (And, even then, you wouldn't want some of these folks in your home, let alone anywhere near your appliances.) But, while Tri-City Appliance does not service our area, they, typically have the parts we need; they will expedite in any parts they do not have -- and without any ridiculous fees; and, then, they offer expert advice and instructions. I'm not kidding ... As they're handing you the part, they describe exactly what you're going to see, when it comes time for you to replace it. It's like they're right there with you. :) There's simply no better example of a local, small business with its priorities in the right place! I just updated my review today, 08/08/2020, after our 12-year old Maytag clothes dryer appeared to have died. With a large family and one income, we simply do not have $900-$1,100 to recklessly toss toward an all-new unit. (And, too, I cannot in good conscience toss out an entire unit, when just one component may be "bad.") So, it was back to Tri-City Appliance, where Melissa tested all of my parts. In the end, we determined it was a "bad" Dryer Control Board -- and the board is no longer available. BUT, in addition to their true customer-first attitude, these folks offered up that we could, now, try FixYourBoard.com as one final, last-ditch effort. Absolutely amazing. My grandparents and, later my father ran a furniture and appliance store in East Texas for decades, until big box retailers, as well as a "all things disposable" society, made it near-impossible to keep the doors open. If Tri-City Appliance does not have what you want in stock, they can get it; their prices really are not too much different than those are the big box retailers; and, their service is impeccable. So thankful I went here when my dryer stopped working !! Such helpful, honest people are so hard to find these days!! I thought it was my thermal fuse that had been blown on my dryer and I brought it in to buy the right part. They tested the fuse and determined that it was actually working just fine, and gave me several recommendations of things to test to determine the cause of the problem! I was able to use their recommendations to figure out the problem, and never had to call a repairman. They could have easily sold me the parts I was looking for, but instead they chose to help me figure out the real problem. Tri-City ALWAYS does their absolute best to brainstorm and diagnose an issue over the phone before sending a tech out for a potentially costly visit ! Multiple times they have been able to tell us what is wrong with an appliance, even going so far as to describe how to order and install a part. Today they could have made money sending a tech to our home for a refrigerator repair when our ice and water dispenser quit working. Peggy told me to try unplugging it for at least 15 minutes. I did not buy any product here. I called in, very upset with my Kitchen Aid dishwasher not working well after 15 months (just out of warranty of course) that I bought elsewhere. I absolutely love these guys. I've used them a few times over the years, both for parts and repairs. What really sets them apart is that, even though they do service calls and sell new appliances, they really go out of their way to diagnose your problem and sell you only what you need -- even if that means selling you a $20 part instead of a $600 appliance. Being able to trust somebody to do that is priceless. They are extremely helpful over the phone at trying to pinpoint the exact problem, and they explain all of your options and provide all of the suggestions and information you need to make an informed decision, without any kind of sales pressure. Their service tech was similarly courteous, professional, and had the same great communication, and the sales folks in the shop are every bit as good. When I've bought parts, they took the time to explain what I needed to do to install them and make sure I was comfortable. My gas dryer was not heating properly, so I replaced several items to get it working again. However, the dryer still did not operate correctly. So I called Tri-City on 1/17/2015 and spoke with Melissa. I walked her through what I had replaced and she told me to try looking at the seal since I had already replaced the parts that usually cause the dryer to not heat properly. After finding the seal was okay, I called back and spoke with Rodney. He listened to what I had already done and told me it can only be a venting issue. While I had already cleaned the vent, I followed his instructions and sure enough, he was right. While the dryer was venting, it wasn't venting enough. After thoroughly cleaning the vent again, the dryer worked perfectly. Rodney and Melissa where very helpful and were more concerned with helping me with my dryer than the almighty dollar. Very refreshing - helpful, honest and trustworthy. In doing so, they will always get my business in the future and anybody else that I refer their way. Thanks again for your help!! read more

I left a message for a service call after close on Friday night and they returned my call within ten minutes of opening Saturday morning, had someone out in less than 30 minutes and my dryer was fixed within an hour of when I hung up the phone. This might seem pretty great, but the fact that I had originally set an appointment for Monday morning and was able to call them back and squeeze into their one opening on Saturday (that was less than 20 minutes after I called to reschedule) AND they showed up 10 minutes early -- this is beyond great. I called to have them come and fix my ice maker on the fridge. The gentleman that answered the phone told me he was about 90% sure it was a piece of ice stuck and nothing wrong with the ice maker. He told me how to open it up and check and VOILA! there it was! I removed the ice cube and it has worked perfectly ever since.
