We are nearing the end of our bathroom remodel...Yippie!!! Last items to purchase are new framed mirrors. Our initial plan to frame our current unframed mirrors, but learned that this was not the best path. New plan is to remove the old mirrors and purchase new framed mirrors and affix them to the walls. One of the challenges is that we do not have standard size mirrors. Fast forward to Lamps Plus which appeared to have different sized mirrors. While they have a good assortment of mirrors, they did not have any sizes that fit our dimensions. However, we now a listing of mirror businesses to choose from. Our three week remodel is now turning into likely a five week remodel. Anthony, our sales associate, was very helpful in showing us the mirrors he had available in various catalogs. I've been shopping with Lamps Plus for decades (literally) but this is my first time at this particular store. I've always been happy with Lamps Plus which is why they are my "go to" for lighting. We moved to TX to build a house and early on, we picked out all the lighting but realized later what a rookie mistake that was. We thought we knew what we wanted but as the house starting taking shape and we picked out flooring, cabinets and counters we discovered what we originally wanted picked for bathroom lighting, had changed. But the problem was we purchased these eight months ago. We had five boxes of lights and brought one box in figuring we were going to have to beg and plead to get them to take them back. We had never even opened the boxes so we had hopes we could work something out. As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted by a representative who took the box right out of our hands and began walking towards the return counter. I didn't even have a chance to let him know how long it had been since we ordered these and I was dreading the bad news. We followed this person to the counter and once there, we explained how long ago we had purchased and to my surprise, he said we have up to year to return! Delighted with this news, we let him know we had four more boxes of the same lights and he kindly came out to our car and helped bring in the remaining boxes and within minutes, we were given a full refund. This was one of the simplest returns I have ever been through. I've always been so satisfied with my purchases with Lamps Plus but this experience makes me feel there is no better place to shop for all of your lighting needs. read more

Good news, there is still great service in Austin! In these days of bad service almost everywhere, it's such a treat to experience great service. Sharon Conner is a master at it. Helpful, knowledgeable and what a great attitude. She even helped us get something that was on sale. I am looking forward to enjoying the beautiful fans. This experience was especially salient since we had just spent 20 mins at another lighting store on North Burnet, close to the Domain, where there were three different associates who saw us come in watched us look at fans and not one of them approached us to check in or help. I think I spent an hour in Lamps Plus in awe of how competitive their prices are with Lowe's and Pottery Barn. Their Edison vintage light bulbs are $4 cheaper than Lowe's and have a lifetime warranty. I'll be coming back for recessed lights, chandeliers, fan, bathroom vanity, and bathroom mirrors. A really nice experience today at Lamps Plus on Research Blvd. Mr. Vossoughi was patient and knowledgeable. These lights are final touches for the patio columns for our new house, and they perfectly complement the Spanish Revival style. Also the manager was more than generous including the bulbs for all 14 fixtures. And his adage of "the sale is not complete until the customer is happy" is a very good one. The other customer service ppl acted as if they had no clue...I know companies say we have a labor shortage I clearly get that but there were numerous employees just walking around not offering to help. Gas is expensive these days and for someone (Keegan) to blatantly lie to me is not cool at all. I purchased a 95 lb $1,500 chandelier (after discounted price for Thanks Giving sale). I do not recollect the name, but the salesperson was easy going, informative and I felt no pressure to buy. I ended up buying the chandelier as me and my wife liked it. However, I ended up returning it as the installation was going to be around $2,000+ (2 days required including assembling and renting a scaffold) to hook up on a 18 ft ceiling. It did not make sense in terms of economy for the total cost including service. There were folks offering installation for $700, but 90% of the servicemen quoted between $2000 to $3000. I returned the item in store. Again, the same salesperson was easy going, helped me unload the heavy chandelier from my truck and took care in a swift manner. My customer experience with Lamps Plus was pleasant in buying and returning. Though, I must admit I hated to return the chandelier as me and my wife liked it very much. Hands down one of my best buying experiences in recent months. First, if you think they're going to be super expensive just because they're in the arboretum, they're not. Sure, there are some really pricey options, but most of the stuff we looked at was middle of the road and comparable to other places. One of the Minka fans we bought, for example, was the same price it was at a big box store. But here's what a big box store won't give you: excellent customer service. I mean it - they go above and beyond, which is so refreshing. We had a couple of issues and they were resolved quickly and kindly. Their return policy is extremely liberal (I'll let them spell it out). Their sales people were attentive and patient. Unfortunately we couldn't find a dining room light fixture we both liked, so all we bought was five ceiling fans. Was our experience a fluke? I hope not. We were having the most difficult time finding the perfect light fixture for our dining room. We had been looking for MONTHS, searching numerous lighting stores because we not only needed a light that matched a very modern kitchen, but it also couldn't clash with the surrounding open spaces being rustic. It got tricky. The house is an investment home, so that made the search even more tricky, knowing we had to take prospects into consideration as well. We honestly didn't think Lamps Plus would meet our needs, just because we thought their lamps were abundant, but assumed their ceiling lighting would be pretty limited. We were wrong. As soon as we walked in, there were ceiling lights EVERYWHERE. We were quickly greeted by Eric Ramirez, and quickly assessed our needs. At first he showed us a few lights that we liked but wouldn't work perfectly, so when he excused himself to check some things for us, we honestly thought he was going to help another customer or something, but no, he took the time to get manufacturer information as well as comparable other options from competitor manufacturers and show us tons of options both online and in store. After HOURS of searching, Eric helped us find TWO great chandeliers! We purchased one, and the choice was difficult, which is a good thing! We also purchased another light we didn't plan on finding there, but it was just what we needed. This place just opened in the old Restoration Hardware space in the arboretum. I wanted outdoor lamps and found a large selection here of both traditional and slightly more modern (which is what I wanted). Really well staffed and Dick, who helped me, was informative and non-pressuring. While there I realized I had been needing some replacement lamp shades and specialty bulbs so I picked up the latter. We bought a floor lamp in June. We had great service, we were greeted and acknowledged by all the staff as we walked around the store. The lamp wasn't in stock and had it shipped to the house. Staff was super friendly! Fast forward to today. We took the lamp back due to one of the 3 lights wasn't working. We had the most amazing customer service experience ever!! The first person to greet us asked what we needed, he offered to get the lamp from the truck and brought it on. Another sales lady quickly checked to find another lamp to replace the non working one. She pulled up our order, having one sent to the house. We asked about 2 lower watt bulbs since the ones we originally bought were too bright. They gave us 2 new bulbs. We said we would pay for them. Because I am old and broken and live 50 miles from the Austin store, it's easier for me to just order online. My most recent purchase was a lamp that I totally love but it was manufactured incorrectly and would not fit together. I was unable to get it back in the box (it was packed really, really well) so I drove to the store for the return. They did not have one like it in the store so they took back the defective one and ordered a new one. I have to say the staff is so nice and helpful and patient... All 3 staff members came to the register to try to get the lamp together but we were not successful. I do appreciate their helpfulness and I look forward to receiving my new lamp.
