Excellent duck (canard). Crispy skin. Tender meat that falls apart inside, but is crispy on the edges where it was fried. The plate was filling. It comes with a simple salad and a good handful of deep fried potatoes that are about 1-2 mm thick, giving them a nice randomness between crispy/crunchy/soft, but not too greasy. I have a feeling they fry the potatoes in duck fat. It's got an umami to it that just works. The duck and potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Kudos to the chef.
Service was also great. I walked in after a sudden flash downpour and was half wet. Not a blink, and the host asked me what I would like to eat. He knew I was a tourist because I was wearing dorky tourist clothes and a backpack from dressed like a tourist and definitely had an american accent after saying "bonsiour". He switched to English without a beat, and was friendly and helpful. Also, even though it was happy hour, he also chose a red wine for me that was apparently "better" than the happy hour wine, and was also cheaper.
I vouch for the duck dish and the wine he picked for me. I didn't try anything else, but if you are in the mood for duck and are in the area, come check out this place.
I got a tiramisu last minute. It was also good and a generous serving. You could share if you wanted to.
Win win all around. Try the duck.
