My family and I stopped off at this restaurant on our way to the Musee Orsay. We had a phenomenal meal and the staff was extremely friendly. They walked us through the menu very patiently. I had duck confit for the first time and truly enjoyed it. The contrast in flavors and textures between the duck, salad and potatoes was pure harmony. My family also enjoyed other dishes like the fish and penne. I highly, highly recommend this place

After a 2 1/2 mile hike from Notre Dame to Le Louvre and on the way to the Eiffel Tower in the January cold, we happily enjoyed the lovely fish of the day, filet mignon, and an ocean salad at an unexpectedly reasonable cost.

Such a great deal in walking distance from the louvre. Mom and pop feel, everyone is warm and friendly. We enjoyed a bottle of rose, duck pate, roast duck with salad and potatoes, and dessert. Total came to €80! Great prices. The type of place no one is rushing you, good people watching inside and outside the cafe, and yummy food.

Nice staff, great food, definitely recommend. Stumbled across this place on our way home and stopped in for dinner. Dark cozy little pub, staff was extremely attentive and menu has something for everyone. Felt like we were in a neighborhood pub where you were treated like family.

Nearby Musee Orsay, this restaurant is very authentic French with reasonable price. The waiters are very kind.

Atmosphere: Cafe de l'Empire is a short walk from the Musée d'Orsay and has a good amount of seating inside. The inside was a bit stuffy from the Paris summer heat, but the vibe overall was lively and friendly. Service: When we arrived, we were told that there would be a 20-25 minute wait for a table, but we were seated in less than 10 minutes. Our waiter was friendly, and paying at the front was convenient and easy! Food: We first ordered a chocolate frappe and cappuccino. The chocolate frappe essentially tasted like powdered chocolate milk, but that wasn't a bad thing! The cappuccino was foamy and fresh. For our food, we ordered the grilled boneless rib steak with smoked wild thyme and homemade french fries, as well as the roast chicken with juice and homemade buttered mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked well but a bit bland, and the fries were pretty average. The chicken was juicy on the outside but drier closer to the bone, and the potatoes were on the saltier side. Nevertheless, it made for a filling meal. For dessert, we ordered the panna cotta, which was fruity and creamy, but we thought there was a bit too much berry coulis on top as the tarty taste was overpowering. Overall: Cafe de l'Empire did not impress nor disappoint us with their service or food. We appreciated it being conveniently located within walking distance of the Musée d'Orsay and being seated faster than expected, but we would probably look to explore other restaurant options in the area for lunch.

We found this little gem by Musee d' Orsay. It seems like a neighborhood spot. We were the only Americans in there and people kept coming in. They offer an English menu with the same prices as the French one..the service was very nice and quick. The duck confit was a good portion of thigh and leg, with crispy roasted potatoes. French Onion soup stayed hot in its little tureen almost the whole meal. One of our friends had the after dinner special of decaf espresso with little bites of pastry: a lemon macaron, mini creme brulee, a panda cotta with berry sauce and chocolate cake . The prices are extremely reasonable as compared to what you get in the US. Also, it was near the bus stop back to our Airbnb!

The vibes and atmosphere of the cafe were immaculate. The prices were incredibly reasonable with so many different dishes to try. Everything that came out was fresh and hot. Escargot was well seasoned and packed with flavor. The beef tartare was refreshing with fries to balance out the beef. The service was quick and friendly. Overall, I would love to come back to try their other dishes!

This is a great cozy spot to grab some good food and it's a mere five minute walk from the Musee D' Orsay. Perfect spot to escape the museum crowd and be amongst the locals. The cafe is nestled in a corner. Inside, the decor has great character. Got there for lunch and the place was rather empty. Sat down and was greeted quickly. Ordered a beer and it was quite cold, which was perfect because it was hot outside - Paulaner to the rescue... The Caesar salad was great, it went well with the penne pasta and a 2nd beer - of course. This was a good quick lunch spot - recommend it! Au revoir!
