I was sad that the ice cream bar I seen on yelp is not here anymore, it's an actual bar now. But nonetheless it's super cute here and I'm still glad we came today. I had the avocado toast and my daughter got the nutella french toast with banana and strawberry. I was impressed because the french toast was actual french toast fried first then nutella. My daughters Nutella french toast was really good (I tried hers) and my toast was very tasty from first bite to last bite. Our coffee and food was served on the cutest dishes, and the silverware was gold/ also I loved that:) the waitress was so good she paid attention to details and I liked that ... I went on a date with my boyfriend, and honestly, everything they serve has flowers on it. The food looks nothing like the photos, and when my plate arrived, I was so disappointed that I had to order a second dish. My boyfriend tried to eat my first plate and couldn't finish it either. When the second plate came, I regretted not leaving after the first one. Le Coco is a very cute brunch spot! I did not have their mimosa towers but I did see someone order it and it was huge! I had the Nutella French toast and the le coco cafe, the first drink is a latte with a little design and after the first drink, you can still get coffee refills. When it comes to water, they only offer water bottles. Additionally we had reservations and were told to let the hostess know when our whole party was there, when we went back inside one of the teammates told us to wait outside and then placed a sign on the window stating, "we are short staffed, please be patient." Not the flavor they were expecting but the adults enjoyed them. And yes, they do taste healthy by adult opinion as well. Raisins are in the French Toast and the syrup is honey based. (Just an fyi for your picky eaters because the menu doesn't indicate this and our French toast loving picky eaters weren't happy with the taste at all). Our French toasts were all burnt around the edges, so our kids only ate the middle, after removing those unexpected raisins. The Lox plate was tasty. The cheesecake is oddly salty, which was the overpowering flavor. The food is unique with a few unexpected/non-traditional flavors here and there. Music isn't very diverse and can be a bit loud. We had to shout to hear one another at our table, and we were the only patrons at the time. Mostly Latin music playing. This was my second time visiting this cute little cafe. Both times I've been impressed with the taste of the food. Despite the intense decor that would make you think the food will be short of good. The food I got was pretty good, I wasnt clear what drinks they had that were non alcoholic so they only gave me bottled water which they charged, why not free water in a cup! There was a big fiasco because they didn't let us split the check and were only able to split it in half which doesn't make sense. The owner said it was because of their system or something. I took my two young daughters here after school and homework was completed at around 5PM on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. I definitely see this as a meetup place for a sweet treat with friends! ENVIRONMENT Lé Coco sits on the corner of a plaza across from the Downey Landing shopping center on Lakewood Boulevard. It's a grey building on the outside, but when you walk inside you're almost transported to a new world of everything pink and everything fancy. SERVICE The staff members are very nice, but it's a bit frustrating to wait as long as we did for menus and eventually to order. To their defense, there was a large group that was finishing up. The small children in their group blew through the entire dining room like the cartoon Tasmanian Devil. Can we say sugar rush? Lol. MY FAVORITE PART... The vibe inside... Think Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's with pink walls. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... Our wobbly high top table. And the menu. It's a bit confusing and lacks a lot of information. THE GRUB You can request ice cream to go or grab a table in the small dining room. There are high top tables and a few low tables for groups. Single scoop in a disposable cup $3.99 (x's 2). One of my kiddos chose the Oreo cookies and cream ice cream which was good. The other kiddo chose the ice cream with Ferrero Rocher chocolate (hazelnut) in it. This one was really good. "A tu gusto" smoothie (banana, mango, cantaloupe, papaya, coconut, & strawberry) $6.99... good. Service fee for credit card swipe (3.99%) $0.56. Wasn't told about this nor did I see a sign. Tax $1.40 Also, they have a cotton candy maker near the register plus macarons and cakes in the display case, but there was no other info (flavor, price, etc.) about any of it anywhere. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB While ice cream was on the menu, kid sizes or smaller portions are not explicitly stated. What I ended up doing was asking for a bowl of a single scoop of ice cream. Because we ordered from a table, we didn't even remember to add toppings. PARKING There is ample parking in a plaza lot. I would love to said good things about this place but it fell apart my expectations first of all they don't have dairy free milk, oat or almond soy milk sad, I am lactose free. That was the reason i didn't order my self a coffee. The chilaquiles were tasty I just feel that something was missing some beans would it be great next to it instead of the meat. The service was ok. I felt they could've do better. My sisters and my mom would decided to grab the bottle of champagne instead of that just by the glass highly recommend that on that.
