Some friends and I came here for a happy hour/early dinner on a Thursday evening. It was quite busy already perhaps due to it being a really nice day out, so almost every table was taken. They have a lot of outside seating which is great when it's warm out. The service is super helpful and has a rather French attitude. For example we asked for some sharing plates and the waiter said no. We thought he was joking but apparently he was not All the food is served with bread and you eat it picnic style. The food was delicious! We got some of the specials including the cheese of the day which was super creamy and tasty, the beef tartare, crab rillets, and the duck confit. We also got a whole basket of bread to eat everything with. We all enjoyed a couple glasses of wine, with recommendations from the waitresses. I had an organic Riesling that was delicious. I loved it so much we got a bottle to take home. Overall I am excited to return here soon for more yummy food and wine!

Best place for wine in SLU!! Servers are great & super helpful. They have created an excellent vibe here, would highly recommend for a girls night!

Had a wonderful time at Le Caviste Wine Bar! We ended up meeting another couple from Texas, which made the evening even more fun. Our server, Avery, was fantastic and very attentive. We enjoyed a couple glasses of red wine (each one delicious!). The atmosphere is cozy and inviting--highly recommend this spot for a nightcap.

Solid wine bar with great selection of wine and food! Loved the charcuterie board and will come back and try more things from the food menu

Le Caviste is by far my favorite wine bar in downtown. We have lots but I'll always bias towards Le caviste. The staff is outstanding and remember all the neighborhood locals by name. In addition, you'll always get the fun energy one loves while being in Paris - feels like I've been transported from the amazing curated wine to the phenomenal snacks but the best butter ever (get the butter)! It's cozy, chic, and amazing vibes. Also, if you're hungry, while Le caviste doesn't have a full on traditional menu, you can always count on the team to have a delightful parchment steamed white fish and seasonal veggie to enjoy! Always a crowd pleaser

Le Caviste is one if my favorite wine bars in the country, let alone Seattle. Its an awesome place for a small group of friends or coworkers or even a solo dining experience, which I find myself doing often when traveling on business. Their hours are very generous for most places in the area, and you know you can always get a good meal and great service. Their staff are incredibly kind, knowledgable, and helpful. They will spend as much time as you need helping pick out a wine or describing the menu items and are happy to make recommendations. The wine list is quite expertly curated and has a nice selection of glasses and bottles very reasonably priced. They also have some great happy hour bottle deals. The food menu is small but in a good way. Their dishes are very thoughtful and well executed. There's plenty of unique items including my favorite, the smoked scallops. The beef tartare, smoked duck, and cheeses are also superb. I'll keep coming to Le Caviste as long as they keep offering the same wine, food, and friendly service that I have come to rely on when stopping in for an intimate dining experience.

Le Caviste feels like a little slice of France right in the heart of Seattle. The selection of French wines is truly the best in the city, thoughtfully curated and expertly served. The beef tartare was absolutely outstanding -- fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Cozy, authentic, and full of charm -- a perfect spot for anyone who appreciates good wine, great food, and a true French atmosphere.

12/10 would recommend. Stopped in here with a group of 6 for a quick pre-dinner bite to eat and wine and our expectations were exceeded. Delicious wine selections along with charcuterie and bread/butter. Service was great, very accommodating. Small place so you do have to squeeze around a table or the bar, but worth it for a smaller group for sure. Most white wines were dry, could consider adding a mid sweet option - but would definitely come back!

Steak tartar, cheese, and bread. Perfect.

After a long day at work, Le Caviste was exactly the refuge I needed. This cozy French wine bar offers an intimate atmosphere perfect for unwinding solo. I arrived feeling drained but left feeling rejuvenated. The wine selection is curated with care, and the staff's knowledge made it easy to find a glass that suited my mood. I opted for a crisp white that was both refreshing and complex. For a meal, I chose a cheese selection and the steak tartare for dinner - both were prepared with care and were nice with the wine. The ambiance is warm and unpretentious, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of good food and wine. I was solo for this trip and enjoyed reading and relaxing while at the restaurant.

Stopped by for some wine and food to unwind after an afternoon around town. The vibes are perfect for a date night (to our left), a solo hang (to our right, a guy with a book and a bottle to himself), or a bigger group. We tried a variety of reds alongside the fish special, beef tartare, goat cheese salad, mushrooms, crab toast, and a basket of bread and butter. Wrapped it all up with some champagne, which was the perfect palate cleanser.

this Gerard Raphet Morey St Denis burgundy was epic (and about half the price in a restaurant).

Wow, and I mean wow! This is the wine bar a 30 year sommelier like myself dreams about coming across when visiting Seattle. There's several high points, the nosh is outstanding and reminiscent of my recent trip to France. An amazing selection of French wines by appellation, and the coupe de grâce: a dedicated side list of outstanding Beaujolais by the cru villages. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, this is hands down a must experience in downtown. Now if I can just convince them to open a location in the SF Bay Area...

A real gem, if you love cured meats and red wine. It is a bit small, but friendly atmosphere and good service.

Is this place 21+ to eat there?

All ages are permitted at Caviste. However, we don't offer anything special for children (high-chairs, booster seats, kids menu, soda pop, or other NA beverages).

Is this a natural wine bar?

Not to my knowledge. David might carry natural wines but not necessarily advertised as a full natural wine bar. That being said, Le caviste is an amazing wine bar with the most fantastic wine offerings + snacks! If you're only seeking natural wine… Read more

She recommended a Mezcal cocktail that was a great start! Surprising because it wasn't smoky typical to Mezcal, just perfectly balanced. Exactly what I wanted. For my main, I went with the short rib pappardelle. It was incredibly rich, and the meat was cooked to perfection. Hailee was attentive and made me feel welcome at the table, which isn't always the case when you're a party of one. Incredible service and an all-around top-tier meal. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Seattle!

A puzzling experience. When we arrived the place was 25% full. When asked if we wanted bar or…read morerestaurant, I answered restaurant. The hostess walked us through the entire restaurant to the dark back wall, behind the bar. With tall bar chairs. Explained we didn't want that, she walked us back through the entire restaurant to a nice table up front by the windows. Tried a Malbec duo. One was delicious and didn't like the other at all; oddly tannic. The grilled mortadella should have been more grilled. Sitting in a generous portion of burratta-like cheese, olive oil and pistachio butter, it was delicious. But desperately needed some bread. How do eat this without any bread? Once the mortadella is gone, you are just eating spoonfuls of cheese, oil and butter? We hadn't seen our waitress since the app arrived. Having finished the mortadella we finally flagged down someone and asked if we could get a little bread. He said he would handle it right away. Another 10 minutes goes by and our waitress came by. Apologized for not being around and went to see about the bread. Finally got the bread, and it was delicious. But sooooo oily! Like a sponge it dozed oil every time I tried to break off a piece. Was dying to wash my hands. Our entrées were ok. The fried chicken with fusilli was pretty good, but difficult to eat in the deep bowl. Hard to cut. The crispy tofu wrap wasn't crispy and wasn't made well. I have absolutely no idea what flavor profile it was meant to be. Just muddy. I tried to eat the first half. It was stuffed so full it was impossible to eat. I took out more than half the filling before I could manage it. When I got to the second half I understood the issue. There was almost no crispy tofu, but lots of lettuce and other fillings. Maybe it would have eaten better if it had been constructed better. The fries were fine. Pleasant server, but perhaps had too many tables as we didn't get the service expected. It's been a long time since dining at the downtown Purple. Likely wouldn't go back.

Amazing wines, creative cocktails, solid snacks, great service and even games. You could wander in "for one flight" and somehow emerge six hours later wondering where the time went (in the best way.) On the wine side, they offer several thoughtfully curated flights, or you can build your own adventure. Which I highly recommend. The dessert wines alone are incredible, and the selection of aromatic whites is seriously impressive. No matter your palate, there's something here that will make you pause, sip again, and nod approvingly. And then there are the wine-based cocktails that deserve their own standing ovation. A wine tasting room doing cocktails this well is rare. We tried the Espresso Martini, the French 125, and the Lavender Lemon Martini, and every single one was better than I expected grape-based cocktails to be. Like, pleasantly shocked. Bottom line: if you're anywhere near Pike Place and enjoy wine (or cocktails, or fun, or all of the above) this place is a must. I can almost guarantee it'll become your new favorite spot.

This used to be one of my favorite spots at Pike Market. For years, I made it a tradition to bring out-of-town guests here. Over time, I have brought more than 100 people here. It had a charming, warm, and welcoming feel--like a hidden gem in the city. It oozed with kindness and fun. Unfortunately, that has completely flipped! Since the new manager, Anthony, took over, the entire atmosphere has shocked me. What was once inviting now is rigid, cold, and unwelcoming. The biggest issue, however, was the way I was treated. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, which was both surprising and disappointing given my long history with this place. Great establishments are built not just on food or ambiance, but on how people are treated--and that piece is clearly missing now. It's especially unfortunate because the rest of the team still shows glimpses of what this place used to be. Jordon, was genuinely kind and pleasant, but one positive interaction couldn't outweigh the manager's miserable attitude. It's hard to see a place that once felt so special lose its charm like this. I know the winemaker Paul is a great person - so it is hard to leave such a terrible review, but at the same time, if this was my place -- I would want to know what was happening behind the scenes at my establishment. I truly hope leadership reflects on how customer experience is being handled moving forward. Don't give money to places that have toxic attitudes and are joy crushers! Life is too short and far too precious! In the meantime, there are many nearby spots that consistently deliver both quality and incredible hospitality. Skip this place, and instead go to Browne Family Vineyards Tasting Room, The Lonely Siren, The Pink Door, Place Pigalle, or Maximilien. Those places are working very hard to create an exceptional experience!
