Great vibes and good food. There can be a line and there's limited seating. Menu can be hard to read on the chalk board so ask if you're confused. Wine was great, beef tartare wasn't my favourite but there's a mushroom dish I really liked. Small plates so if you want to be full, get the dish or more bread.

Best place for wine in SLU!! Servers are great & super helpful. They have created an excellent vibe here, would highly recommend for a girls night!

So this is a very delayed review. Due to the holidays and life getting in the way but I wanted to make sure I write this because I had such a great experience here that I'm still thinking about it. My partner and I are just in the beginning stages of wine education and we absolutely loved this place. The selection of reds are amazing and yes the cursive on the chalk board is hard to focus on at a distance but you just have to read. Not too hard. Laura was an amazing guide and I could not get enough of her, she took really good care of us. She was knowledgeable, effervescent, with just a touch of sassiness; which my partner and I live for!!!! She really made our night. Great vibes all around and I feel like I really learned something about French wines and just wine overall. When I come back to downtown I will be sure to frequent this wine bar because, honey. I'm a fan!!!!!

Some friends and I came here for a happy hour/early dinner on a Thursday evening. It was quite busy already perhaps due to it being a really nice day out, so almost every table was taken. They have a lot of outside seating which is great when it's warm out. The service is super helpful and has a rather French attitude. For example we asked for some sharing plates and the waiter said no. We thought he was joking but apparently he was not All the food is served with bread and you eat it picnic style. The food was delicious! We got some of the specials including the cheese of the day which was super creamy and tasty, the beef tartare, crab rillets, and the duck confit. We also got a whole basket of bread to eat everything with. We all enjoyed a couple glasses of wine, with recommendations from the waitresses. I had an organic Riesling that was delicious. I loved it so much we got a bottle to take home. Overall I am excited to return here soon for more yummy food and wine!

Had a wonderful time at Le Caviste Wine Bar! We ended up meeting another couple from Texas, which made the evening even more fun. Our server, Avery, was fantastic and very attentive. We enjoyed a couple glasses of red wine (each one delicious!). The atmosphere is cozy and inviting--highly recommend this spot for a nightcap.

Solid wine bar with great selection of wine and food! Loved the charcuterie board and will come back and try more things from the food menu

Le Caviste is by far my favorite wine bar in downtown. We have lots but I'll always bias towards Le caviste. The staff is outstanding and remember all the neighborhood locals by name. In addition, you'll always get the fun energy one loves while being in Paris - feels like I've been transported from the amazing curated wine to the phenomenal snacks but the best butter ever (get the butter)! It's cozy, chic, and amazing vibes. Also, if you're hungry, while Le caviste doesn't have a full on traditional menu, you can always count on the team to have a delightful parchment steamed white fish and seasonal veggie to enjoy! Always a crowd pleaser

Le Caviste is one if my favorite wine bars in the country, let alone Seattle. Its an awesome place for a small group of friends or coworkers or even a solo dining experience, which I find myself doing often when traveling on business. Their hours are very generous for most places in the area, and you know you can always get a good meal and great service. Their staff are incredibly kind, knowledgable, and helpful. They will spend as much time as you need helping pick out a wine or describing the menu items and are happy to make recommendations. The wine list is quite expertly curated and has a nice selection of glasses and bottles very reasonably priced. They also have some great happy hour bottle deals. The food menu is small but in a good way. Their dishes are very thoughtful and well executed. There's plenty of unique items including my favorite, the smoked scallops. The beef tartare, smoked duck, and cheeses are also superb. I'll keep coming to Le Caviste as long as they keep offering the same wine, food, and friendly service that I have come to rely on when stopping in for an intimate dining experience.

Le Caviste feels like a little slice of France right in the heart of Seattle. The selection of French wines is truly the best in the city, thoughtfully curated and expertly served. The beef tartare was absolutely outstanding -- fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Cozy, authentic, and full of charm -- a perfect spot for anyone who appreciates good wine, great food, and a true French atmosphere.

Steak tartar, cheese, and bread. Perfect.

After a long day at work, Le Caviste was exactly the refuge I needed. This cozy French wine bar offers an intimate atmosphere perfect for unwinding solo. I arrived feeling drained but left feeling rejuvenated. The wine selection is curated with care, and the staff's knowledge made it easy to find a glass that suited my mood. I opted for a crisp white that was both refreshing and complex. For a meal, I chose a cheese selection and the steak tartare for dinner - both were prepared with care and were nice with the wine. The ambiance is warm and unpretentious, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of good food and wine. I was solo for this trip and enjoyed reading and relaxing while at the restaurant.

12/10 would recommend. Stopped in here with a group of 6 for a quick pre-dinner bite to eat and wine and our expectations were exceeded. Delicious wine selections along with charcuterie and bread/butter. Service was great, very accommodating. Small place so you do have to squeeze around a table or the bar, but worth it for a smaller group for sure. Most white wines were dry, could consider adding a mid sweet option - but would definitely come back!

Stopped by for some wine and food to unwind after an afternoon around town. The vibes are perfect for a date night (to our left), a solo hang (to our right, a guy with a book and a bottle to himself), or a bigger group. We tried a variety of reds alongside the fish special, beef tartare, goat cheese salad, mushrooms, crab toast, and a basket of bread and butter. Wrapped it all up with some champagne, which was the perfect palate cleanser.

We loved this place. We had the steak tartare (amazing) and the fish in paper (also amazing). The wine pairings made everything even better!

Ask the Community - Le Caviste

Is this place 21+ to eat there?

All ages are permitted at Caviste. However, we don't offer anything special for children (high-chairs, booster seats, kids menu, soda pop, or other NA beverages).

Is this a natural wine bar?

Not to my knowledge. David might carry natural wines but not necessarily advertised as a full natural wine bar. That being said, Le caviste is an amazing wine bar with the most fantastic wine offerings + snacks! If you're only seeking natural wine…

What time to what time is HH?

Do you serve leprechauns?

No. They are not in season, at the moment.

Do you accept proof of negative covid test to enjoy?

Sorry, no. Proof of Vaccination is our requirement.

Everything was delicious. Especially the lamb chops - super fresh and delicious. We also ordered the lemon blueberry cake. I typically don't prefer lemon desserts but this was SO GOOD! Light and fluffy, almost like a light cheesecake. Service was outstanding. Our server coursed out our food perfectly. He checked on us consistently but was also aware that we were catching up, so he didn't interrupt unless needed. The location is right in the middle downtown and had a great vibe. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Seattle.

Purple Café and Wine Bar has an amazing amount of character and class and with their large entry…read moredoor the restaurant makes that proclamation immediately. Their bold, if impractical, architecture is stunning. I appreciate how they designed the front desk to integrate seamlessly with the wall. I sympathized with the employees who had a one way exit that opened right into where everyone gathered. The grand central wine tower is incredible but I'm clueless how / if they. access the top shelves or if it is mostly decorative. The food is amazing! The wine flights are also incredible! I love a wine flight with a meal and Purple delivers! I tried the "Adventurous Reds Duo" which introduced me to kindzmarauli and I was hooked. I appreciated that Purple offered something different. Now, Purple offers to sell bottles to go. This is a fabulous way to support Purple if you have the means to do so since the markup is up to 100% from what you find at a local wine store. If paying a 100% markup stings then take it from me, have yourself a quick internet search on prices before committing. The service here was an utter delight. Our waitress was engaging and knowledgeable about wine. She effortless described flavors and their histories. I greatly recommend Purple!
