We celebrated a birthday dinner and the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. First impressions were great. The lobby is beautiful, upscale, and valet was smooth with no issues. We had reservations and still waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Not a dealbreaker, but not ideal either. Drinks were where things got bumpy. We ordered simple cocktails (rosé, old fashioned, and a dirty martini). The martini came back more filthy than dirty, but we said nothing. On the second round, an Aperol-based drink came out tasting like a lemon drop. This time we said something, and after a pretty long wait, the correct (and totally different) drink arrived. Food, everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the filet with peppercorn gravy, flavorful and cooked well. Oysters and bread service were also good. Dessert was a highlight IMO... the chocolate tarte and birthday plate were both delicious and beautifully presented. After dinner, we moved to the bar area, which looked promising. It took a while for anyone to approach us, but when someone finally did, she was super sweet and helpful. Another bartender came over and told us they were closed after we'd already placed our orders... luckily, we'd already been taken care of. Final thoughts on the evening... The food was good, not amazing. For the price point, the service felt inconsistent and cocktails missed the mark more than once. The space itself is lovely, but execution matters. This is the best restaurant in Phoenix. I can't believe this is my first time here. Unfortunately I only have one photo because my boyfriend and I inhaled our food and drinks. Beautiful restaurant -- deeply disappointing treatment. As a woman from the South visiting the great Western state of Arizona, I was genuinely appalled by the mockery of my culture from both the hostess and the manager. My mother and I were wearing formal dress cowgirl hats, an important and respectful part of our attire. We were told to remove them due to the restaurant's dress code, which we politely declined. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the manager approached us and asked--in a clearly mocking tone--whether we were "in theme." Wearing a formal dress hat as a woman is neither a theme nor a novelty; it is part of our cultural identity. What made the situation even more disappointing was the inconsistency. My hat was apparently an issue, yet several guests were wearing outfits with completely exposed breasts or bottom halves, which seems far more in conflict with the restaurant's own posted dress code regarding exposed skin. I suppose it was easier to target women wearing traditional Western formal attire. I think it was $10. We made a reservation so we were able to get in pretty quickly. It was nice because everyone was dressed up nicely (there was a dress code); Which I very much appreciate. We went on a Saturday night and there was a live band playing in the bar just adjacent to the restaurant. Also, because it was our anniversary, they gave us a small card that said happy anniversary to us from the restaurant, an amuse-bouche which had several different flavors in it, including prosciutto, dates, honey, and a balsamic glaze, but it really worked together, and a gelato for dessert that was so creamy and delicious. I really enjoyed the baguette, something about a Brie cheese in a warm baguette makes me so happy. The pork belly dumplings wasn't anything to rave, I didn't think the pork belly was seasoned enough. For one main, my friend got the steak with all the fixings on top. I opted for the Ora king salmon. She liked her steak and I thought the salmon was decent. What I really enjoyed were the roasted sweet potatoes. I liked how unique this side was. It had the sweet and spicy because of the hot honey, and the pomegranate was an interesting touch. For my drink I got the flowers for the samurai. It was a great selection because it wasn't really refreshing without being too sweet. My friend loved how she could get two pours out of her wine order. She always says, I order wine because the taste will always be the same. I have to say their service is great. Came back here to celebrate my parent's 32nd anniversary and we had a great time! Since the weather was nice they had the door/ windows open to the outdoor patio and it was a beautiful view at sunset. The food was delicious here, we started with the tuna crudo (my favorite), the truffle Brie baguette, and the pork belly potstickers. Everything was great but the truffle Brie baguette was a little too overpowering and sweet for our liking, and a little messy but it was definitely still unique. I got an espresso martini and requested it with baileys, and when they brought it out, they had forgotten the baileys but remade it easily. I had the salmon for dinner which was perfectly buttery, and melted in your mouth, it was crispy on the outside and delicious. I'm not a huge oyster fan, but I always want to give dishes a try and they did not disappoint. My husband and I opted for the king crab bucatini and Dover sole with a side of the truffle baked potato and grilled asparagus. Honestly everything was so delicious and our service was fantastic. We didn't feel rushed and really got to sit and enjoy each other's company. One of the other awesome parts about eating here was that afterwards we were able to walk upstairs and check out the Ambassador's rooftop bar, which is a total vibe. Went to le Ame to celebrate my birthday with brunch. Really impressed with the food here. I took a picture of my prime rib dip but oddly it disappeared. Great service, everything was good but specifically these pancrepes are texturally and taste wise some of the best pancake category things I've had. The crème brule was the size of a football very good, but what I found most interesting was the French onion soup. It is not thyme heavy and I could not figure out what they use in it but it was very different. They use the same blend in the au jus for the dip which is spread with a horseradish blend and a butter bun. Second only to blue hound that I've had but CHEAPER. Really expensive for dinner by the way so I suggest brunch to try this place. Oh the valet is free if under 2 hours I think. read more

Such an amazing dining experience at a beautiful venue! The food here was delicious, great service, and overall a wonderful dinner. There was live music playing in the hotel lobby, and a terrace bar in the same building with great views. Highly recommend the truffled Brie baguette appetizer. read more

I don't usually write reviews but I'm genuinely confused by all these 5-star ratings. Picked this place for my birthday dinner based on the glowing reviews. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived, pushing back our 8:15 reservation by another 20 minutes. Seemed fine at the time. Once seated, it took forever for our server to come over, then literally 30 minutes just to get our bottle of wine. The server was kind of cold and off putting, and our entrees didn't come out until well after 10pm. Almost two hours of sitting there starving. We were about ready to walk out. Honestly, I could've forgiven the wait if the food had been incredible, but after that longgg buildup everything was just bland. Really bland. I love French food and was so excited, but nothing had any flavor. The filet was fine but it's a filet, you know? Everything else was forgettable. They comped our entrees because of the wait, which was commendable, but we're used to great service at these prices. It was still super pricey and my birthday dinner became a disappointment. At no point did they offer us anything from the kitchen to hold us over, another glass of wine, or even an explanation of what was taking so long. Super surprised as Ive heard nothing but good things about this place. The only positive is the ambiance, it really did feel like we were in France. Beautiful space. Just wish everything else matched it. Maybe it was an off night? But I definitely can't recommend based on our experience, ESPECIALLY if its for a special occasion. read more
