Part luxury, part gourmet meal and part magic show (but in a very classy way)... it was a stunning evening[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. For those familiar with Kevin Binkley's former projects, there are hints of what we used to experience at his restaurants but this takes it over the top. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The evening was full of surprises, culinary theater and the gorgeous view makes it unforgettable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We used to eat at Christopher's at the Biltmore and it was wonderful to see this playful and stylish iteration. The food was phenomenal, interesting, well-excuted and so very enjoyable. There were a few service hiccups. We were served the same course twice (which was promptly removed when we notified our server). There was a significant gap between two of the courses (maybe 20 minutes or so) and it felt odd. The kitchen knew that I am pescetarian and they beautifully accommodated me except when a plate of lamb appeared in front of me (it was quickly rectified). The ultimate experience! It was the best evening of incredible bites, immaculate service, and stunning views! My husband and I had this on our list for the longest time and I wish we would have come sooner. The tasting menu with wine pairing is the way to go. The pacing is completely to you and I found a lot of comfort in courses coming out once we were ready - it didn't feel rushed! All the food was beautifully plated and flavor profiles with textures were through the roof! It was a beautiful blend of seasonal flavors! The wine selection was also a wow-factor and complemented the courses nicely. What a wonderful and amazing experience. I made reservations online, which requires you to pay for your meal upfront (which also includes gratuity) Once we got to the mansion, we hiked up (highly recommend the valet since it is quite a hike, and it knocked the air out of us) Once we got inside, the wonderful woman led us to the restaurant, which sits on the back of the mansion. Once we got inside, we were sat near the entrance. There is no bad place to sit here. The food was absolutely incredible. We started with bread, which was delicious. I also ordered the moscato wine and the Thai lime - both of which were divine. Then we had smoked salmon and goat salad for starter. For entrees, I had the wagyu ribeye and my partner the duck, both of which were incredible. We also ordered the potato au gratin, but after seeing someone with fries, I asked our waiter if I could have fries, too, and he made it happen. They were sooo good. For dessert, I had the cheesecake and my partner had the chocolate mouse, both of which were very good. The staff, who were all incredibly warm and friendly, gave us mini desserts as an extra treat. Our bill ended up being $500 (which included another tip.) Our waiter was really amazing. Overall, we had the most incredible dining experience. We wanted to have show my sister and her husband the mansion, have drinks at Jamie's wine bar and enjoy the sunset however we couldn't due to a private event so we had some appetizers at the couch of the patio at Christopher's instead. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is not the comfortable place to eat as you have to constantly reach forward to get the food at a very low coffee table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You are better off having reservations so you can sit at a table. Service was very professional and precise although the drinks took way too long to come out. When they finally did they were all well crafted. The duck fat fries were outrageously tasty, the only problem was that the aioli was rancid. We should have said something - at first I thought it was the flavor of saffron giving it the off note, my sister was correct it really was rancid. The tiny and I mean tiny (maybe 1" long!) tartare tacos were very flavorful with just enough seasoning (Dijon mustard etc) to accent the flavor of the beef. the tiny taco shells were very delicate. The sliders had really good beefy flavor anda nice roasted tomato topping. The best dish (aside from the amazing duck fat fries!) were the tenderloin skewers. If Michelin was to give out stars in Arizona (they don't), this would be 3-star ... has to be all around one of finest complete dining experiences in the country. I rate it up there with French Laundry in Napa for attention to detail in every element of the experience. It starts with the drive up to Christophers. They greeted me by name and directed me up to the waiting maitre'd who seated us at on outside table with plenty of room around it for Luna. We did the 8-course chef's tasting menu paired with wines. All I can say is every course was just a delight for the senses in terms of its artistic beauty, taste, and uniqueness of presentation. My head is still reeling from the experience. The pace of service is just right ... no one is rushing you to finish so they can get another party in your seat. Every dish is presented by the servers with complete knowledge about its ingredients and preparation. Our sommelier was brilliant and and her knowledge was extensive. She had paired stunning wines with each course ... some of the best I've ever had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even the physical table has been curated for maximum diner enjoyment. Each outside table has a light with a heater built into the center of it. Perfect lighting for an evening meal in a temp controlled environment that delivered nice even heat around the table[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Each diners spot has a small drawer just to the right of the seat that includes all utensils for the meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And OMG, the view is breathtaking. Get a reservation about 15-20 minutes before sunset. It'll almost have you crying[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I'm definitely going back and siting inside, which I've heard is a stunning experience as well. This is as special an event as you want to make it, but should be on every Yelp Elite's bucket list. Was looking for a bougie dinner while I was in Pheonix for a conference and this place definitely hit the spot. I found it on Yelp and since it was only a 6 minute ride away, I made a reservation and headed over here. Reservation was not difficult to get, which was nice. As I walked in I was greated quickly by the staff and taken to the counter (which was what I reserved). They offered to take my coat and have me a stool for my purse. I was also offered still or sparkling water, which is always a nice touch. Waitress came over quickly and gave me some delicious food suggestions. I tried the escargot, the tacos, the lamb skewers, fries and the chocolate tower. I also ordered a lovers lane to drink. Wow, I was so impressed by this restaurant. I have been to other comparable really nice restaurants in the area and this was my favorite. I came here with some friends for my birthday. The first thing I noticed was the view - the reviews were not wrong when they mention that this restaurant has a great view! It is located on a hill, so there is a good view of the mountains and city below. There are a lot of windows in the restaurant (and in the bathroom too!). We went for an early dinner (5:30), which was the perfect time to appreciate the sunset. What I loved is that there were so many little unexpected surprises that made the meal special. Our waitress made us a welcome cocktail when the meal started. We ordered the prix fixe menu without wine pairing and were even given a welcome glass of champagne at the beginning of the meal! There is a secret drawer built into the tables where you will find the silverware for the meal. The first course (amuse bouche) came out very artistically presented. We were given small sculptures that were models of the chef's hand. In the palm of the hand was a beignet. The surprise was that if you lifted up the hand, there was a bed of caviar on top of a silky uni-infused panna cotta. The rest of the meal was equally amazing. It included lobster, foie gras, melt in your mouth wagyu, etc. The meal finished with a beautiful passion fruit geometric cube tart and they lit a sparkler instead of a candle for me. This place was incredible from the point I pulled up to the point I was walking out of the door to go home. My wife was out of town for a girls weekend so I decided last minute to squeeze into their last slot for their tasting menu as a "treat yo self" !! Parking- there is no real parking lot since you drive up a steep hill but there is complimentary valet. As this was a solo man date i decided to take my motorcycle out and since people dont valet motorcycles the guy at the valet was totally cool with me parking right in front. now ill be honest, im not usually the one to go to dinner by myself let alone an 8 course meal! LOLLL but when i walked in they instantly greeted me and asked if i was the 1 top. attention to who is on the reservations is not as common as most think. the whole staff made me feel super welcomed and not rushed. everyone was so attentive and knowledgable about every ingredient in every dish. The menu constantly changes from my understanding. The food was so freaking bomb! Not only the taste, the presentation and thought that went behind every dish. The night was full of surprises! I would tell more about these surprises but I don't want to ruin it for your visit!! I was given a welcome cocktail when I sat down, wasn't my fave but I'm a tequila and whiskey guy tbh. The server asked about any allergies prior to the meal. My wife has a dairy sensitivity so I wonder if that's the case, they may adjust the menu to help with allergies. I've seen this be the common practice at other tastings I've been to. The view is beautiful and that night it was lightening in the distance and it was beautiful sitting by the window. If I could give Christopher's more than five stars I would, in a heartbeat. I truly believe this to be the best restaurant I have ever visited, and not just because of the outstanding and incredibly creative food, but because of the phenomenal service. Our table was taking longer than expected to prepare and so we received complementary waygu tacos while we waited. And as we snacked on these little bites of pure deliciousness, chef Christopher took the time to speak with us. He was very kind and down to earth! And the great service did not stop once we were seated. Our server was beyond amazing. It was obvious, not only through the impeccable service, but through the food that everyone who works in this establishment truly loves what they do. You could taste the love and passion behind every beautiful dish. And I'm not ashamed at the fact that I was certainly stuffing my face the whole time. And by the time we were finished, we were the last ones in the restaurant and they were kind enough to give us extra bread and butter that they had leftover. They even gifted us with a poster that had been signed by all the staff! Truly making this experience unforgettable. We also returned for brunch two days later and happened to run into our server from Christopher's, he recognized us and took the time to show us some of the upstairs area in the mansion. It doesn't get any nicer than this. The moment I stepped into Christopher's I was taken aback by the breathtaking views from the mountain. The restaurant is fully enclosed in glass which allows for really dramatic scenery when you're here. Every little detail has been thought over carefully for this restaurant, from the exterior and interior decor to the tables, which have a hidden flatware drawer for your dishes. I knew this was a cool place when I saw the specially made plates with a pirate rabbit on it. While they do accept walk ins, reservations are typically made online and is prix fixe. Your prepaid reservation includes tax and tip and there are add ons such as caviar and fois gras you can either include at the time of the reservation or add when you are at your table. As for parking, unless you want to hoof it up a steep-ish hill that has no sidewalk, valet parking is recommended. Unfortunately, when we got here for lunch there was no valet available. The host was able to accommodate us regarding the parking situation though. The staff here are all excellent and on top of their game. From the host, the chefs, and our server we were treated with the best service. Chef Christopher Gross, the Man Himself, even came out to say hi! What a nice guy! While there aren't really any menus online to browse through (Perhaps due to the changing nature of what's available at the moment to prepare) we had a good selection of items to choose from for our 3 course meal. Each course had 3 items we could choose from. I went for the mussels, fish of the day (Kampachi) and chocolate mousse. Our server asked if we wanted any extra dishes to share such as the au gratin potatoes or fois gras and we figured sure let's splurge and fois it! The mussels were SO GOOD. They are probably the best mussels I can remember eating. You know how your typical mussel is all rubbery chewy because it's already come to you precooked? These mussels were so fantastically tender with a rich broth and small bites of cubed chorizo. I wanted to eat all that broth with some of their house made bread but I knew I had other courses to conquer! The fois was perfectly done with a browned caramelized crust and so buttery soft on the inside. The kampachi was a generous portion and all the elements in it combined well together. The chocolate mousse was rich decadence. While I think this restaurant is probably more well known for their dinners, by all means don't discount their superb lunch menu! I'm not sure if it's due to lack of awareness, it being a weekday, or because a lot of people either have the summer blahs or have escaped to cooler locales but it was not busy at all here for lunch. Whether you're touring the Wrigley Mansion and want a fine dining experience before or afterwards, or simply want an amazing meal with equally amazing views, Christopher's is the place to be! My wife took me here for my birthday this year. It was easily one of the best dining experiences of my life. The venue itself is incredible. The restaurant sits on the Wrigley mansion grounds atop a hill that provides breathtaking views of the entire city from all directions. The views and the grounds themselves are breathtakingly beautiful. The views continue once you enter the restaurant and are seated thanks to the glass-walled construction that provides nearly 360 degree views of the city. There's not a bad seat in the house. And I mean that literally -- even the bathroom has amazing views. Once we were seated, we were treated to a near endless parade of beautiful, delicious food that were equal parts artistry and sustenance. We started off with a few bite sized starters that were whetted our appetites with a medley of flavors and textures. A masterfully made caviar egg kicked off the main courses. It was beautifully presented, with the dim lighting dancing daintily across the glassy caviar and gold leaf. The taste was rich, creamly and perfectly salty - an elegant balance of flavors and a perfect way to get things started. Next came the Spanish turbot which was cooked to absolute perfection. It was amazingly moist and flaky on the inside which provided a beautiful textural contast for the slightly crisp chorizo sitting atop the filet. The petite vegetables were also a nice touch. The saffron and potato pasta was another perfectly balanced dish that provided a potent combination of flavors. The sauce from this dish is something I wish I could bottle and eat with a good sourdough every day for the rest of my life. It's that good. Then came the heavy hitters - the wagyu which was served with a rich and velvety bernaise sauce, which you mix with egg yolk yourself tableside. The wagyu was tender and flavorful on its own - but was even further enhanced by the expertly crafted bernaise sauce. I was sure I had just tasted the the most amazing thing on the menu, but I was surprised to find that was yet to come. The best dish of the evening by far was the dry aged duck breast. Everything about this dish was absolute perfection. The duck was, of course cooked perfectly - providing a tender, yet satisfying and substantial chew with every bite. The skin on the duck was scored and crisped flawlessly - providing a delightful textural contrast to the expertly cooked meat. The sauces that accompanied the dish enhanced the flavors even further. It was all I could do to refrain from licking my plate. Then came the parade of desserts which were all delightful and beautifully made. Our server, Chris was amazingly knowledgeable and attentive. My wife asked for three separate wine pairing recommendations and he knocked them all out of the park. He clearly knew the menu well and was consultative in his approach to determing what would resonate with my wife's palette. The rest of the staff was warm, kind, responsive and attentive. Our glasses never ran dry and not once in the nearly three hour dining experience did we feel like we were waiting for service. As we left for the evening, we were giving a parting gift - a small loaf of french bread, some chocolates and a bottle of water for the road.
