Highly recommend! Husband is Irish so we've been looking for flavors (Eastern European) you can find over in Ireland for a while. This place hits the mark. It's by far the closest thing we've found to "kebabs" in Arizona. They have chicken and lamb options for the shawarma. Their food portions are enormous, but my husband's greedy and eats the whole thing so I have to order my own. Can't complain with the amount of leftovers I have and it's still delicious when I heat it up. The owner and all the staff we've interacted with are lovely. Service is fast and the food is always top notch! Can't say enough about this place. Try the chicken wrap or chicken shawarma plate. Both are delicious. I came to Shawarmania in Glendale because of the excellent reviews and photos online, but my experience was extremely disappointing. The food I received looked nothing like the pictures being advertised. Instead of fresh, juicy shawarma sliced from the spit, most of the meat appeared to be burnt scraps and overcooked pieces. The chicken and lamb were extremely dry, lacked flavor, and tasted like they had been sitting for a long time rather than being freshly carved. Moreover, the portions were extremely small for the price we paid. The fries were ok- the fries they came with the wrap seemed freshly fried while the fries on the plate weren't crispy at all. The vegetables seem fresh but just fell off the fork as you tried to pick it up. For the price of $23 for the plate, it was an extremely underwhelming and disappointing plate of food. As for the wrap, it was just as bad. As you go to pick it up, everything from the meat and lettuce just fell out because they were chopped so small. For a restaurant that markets itself as serving authentic, high-quality shawarma, this was far below expectations. I understand that photos can sometimes differ from reality, but the difference here was significant. Based on the reviews, I expected fresh, flavorful shawarma. What I got was a tray of dry meat scraps with very little resemblance to the advertised product. After eating at more than a dozen different restaurants in the past year that serves shawarma and kabobs, this was the most disappointing one. I hope management takes a closer look at food quality and consistency because this experience did not live up to the reputation reflected in the reviews. read more

Early 2026 I shopped for groceries at a large supermarket across the parking lot from Shawarmania. I saw and Yelped this joint and decided to try a Romanian version of a shawarma wrap. I ordered a Lamb Shawarma Wrap for takeout and took the shop's advice and had them add garlic and spicy seasonings. At home I saw what a big meal I had; it's fully enough for two adults. My partner never had a lamb shawarma before, but loved the flavors in this wrap! I did not taste the garlic and spiciness, but I enjoyed the overall flavors of this wrap so much that I didn't miss the absence of the "added seasonings." We decided to try something different and were pleasantly surprised. I had a chicken donner kabob and it was very tasty. There is a pita bread with shaved chicken, French fries, cabbage, pickles and a ranch sauce. Wife had a shawarma plate which was like a kabob without the bread. The meals are huge!!!!!!!!! The best shawarma I've had! If you see this food truck just go. This shawarma is so good! It's fresh, huge servings and has plenty of sauce. They even mixed it all up for me so each bite was perfect. Followed the owner's suggestion and got the kid's meal this time (plus veg)- worked great! Food is made fresh, fries were nice and hot. Fries on top are crispier, fries farther down were more soft/had chew- which I personally like. Just don't go in expecting crunchy McDonald's fries. In addition to the yummy food, what really makes this place stand out is how friendly the people are. My cashier/server took a detour when bringing my food to grab utensils for me, and as there was a bit of a language barrier took extra steps to make sure my order was exactly what I wanted. The lamb was lamb but the other ingredients had no flavor. It was just salty chicken. The falafel was so so, and the dip was just watery sour cream. The wraps are huge and there really is a lot of food stuffed into it. However, it comes out on a little napkin on the serving tray. This is the first time I can remember where we took perhaps 5 bites each, and decided we wouldn't be eating anymore. I was really sad that we didn't like it. read more

Saw this new gem pop up next to my local grocery store and was super excited to try it! To be honest, I walked in and saw the prices and thought they were on the higher end but, I ordered anyway and I am so happy I did. The food was absolutely delicious and a HUGE serving! This shawarma wrap was way bigger than my head and just so flavorful. I loved all of the sauces inside. The service staff was very kind, efficient, and just genuine nice people. I have tried to eat here @ Shawarmania AZ for about 3 months now... finally found it when open! This is the Romanian version of shawarma (aka shaorma or saorma), that is prepared & cooked by the Romanian owners, the Romanian way, w/ Romanian ingredients. Romanian shawarma often features a more robust, savory, and maybe slightly tangy flavor profile, while Middle Eastern shawarma tends to be slightly more subtle and can vary regionally. Instead of a blend of cumin, coriander, turmeric, or other Middle Eastern spices, Romanian shawarma might also include ingredients like paprika or smoked paprika, garlic, and other old world Romanian seasonings & blends. We were skeptical about the taste of the lamb (no beef), but they let me try a piece, and man was it good... tasted like flavorful beef, w/ zero gamey taste found in other lamb dishes made cheaply. We go both the chicken and the lamb - holy cow they were ridiculously delicious!! Met another customer there while waiting who said he was from Romania, and noted excitedly he has eaten maybe hundreds here as it reminds him of the street-style shawarma back in his home country of Romania. We got the XXL which ends up being a GIANT gyro-like dish which had the cabbage, pickles, onion, and fries all mixed together, which my wife did not like as she wanted a plate, not a wrap, but apparently the plate is only available in regular size, but she still found it very tasty! I was greeted warmly by a young man who was running the whole front of the restaurant, taking calls, retrieving orders, seating customers he was doing it all with an upbeat attitude, and accommodating style of interaction. The space was extra large lots of tables, moderately, clean and bright (it's an older building so definitely signs of wear and tear) did not attract from the overall experience. I ordered takeout. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Standell was the hummus and quantity of euro meat in the sandwich was satisfying. Chicken kebab was grilled nicely. Rice was flavorful, Greek salad little small could've used a little bit more lettuce, but very tasty as well. One note is that the pita bread was thin and kind of cardboard. I prefer a softer thicker, smaller pita. They also have a buffet which I will definitely have to try because it looked really good. Would highly recommend especially for those who enjoy Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisines. read more

My husband just picked this up for us for dinner. The service he said was very nice and it's really pretty inside. We were really looking forward to this tasty dinner but I had 2 bites and decided I couldn't eat any more. Absolutely no taste whatsoever other than some pickles and so so much SALT! So much salt that my husband couldn't eat anymore either. We will not be going back, and definitely not recommending! We were quite bummed since we live down the street, the reviews were good and we are always looking forward to supporting a local restaurant. We always pass by this food truck on our way home and was curious because of the packed crowd it attracts. We took a chance this time around and this was a gem for sure! I ordered the lamb shawarma while the rest of my family had the chicken shawarma. The shawarmas were HUGE. The lamb meat was tender, flavorful, and wasn't gamey at all. It was packed with fresh, shredded veggies and the pickles were a nice touch, the fries were delicious (fried in tallow), and it was all wrapped in a thin, warm flatbread. It had two sauces that I could tell: a red sauce that had a nice kick to it and a white, creamy sauce (yoghurt based?). The shawarma was so flavorful, creamy, garlicky, salty, and crispy in all the right places. This was so deceptively light -- until halfway through and it was so satisfying and so filling. This is my family's first time eating Romanian Shawarma. Our only experience with Eastern European food had only ever been Russian-Georgian and this place makes me want to try more Romanian offerings. The restaurant is exceptionally clean with good seating and staff.-I ordered the Shawarma sandwich and it was huge, really enough for two people, but it should be as it was $15 per sandwich, 1499 to be specific. The sandwich was tasty but was swimming in a sweet sauce, so all the ingredients within the tasty and well prepared with the exception of the sauce. And I'm a saucy person I like sauce I like wet sandwiches, but this was way too rich and sweet sweet almost like mayonnaise with horseradish and sugar. It was very sweet. It overwhelmed the sandwich. The chicken with him was good and tasty a little dry but tasty. I personally probably would not return because for the price point it's not worth the price. It's tasty if I had to eat there, I would ask them to give me the socks on the side. My husband had a burger that had beef and pork within the burger. It was chewed again, but not worth the price.
