We decided to eat here with our family of 5 based on a family member's recommendation. Everything was delicious! Chicken Shawarma, Philly Cheesesteak, Greek Salad, etc. My daughter was in a bad mood and the owner could tell. He brought over some French fries on the house. It made her day. My family and I tried this place several years ago when we moved into the neighborhood and we weren't overly impressed and the service was mediocre. We opted not to go back. However, the other night it had been a long day, I didn't feel like cooking and Mediterranean food sounded good so I figured I would give it another shot and pick up something to go. I walked in, the place was completely empty. I believe the owner was sitting at a small table just to the left of the counter where you order. He was watching a video on his phone. I walked up to the counter, no one else was around, I stared up at the sign to figure out what I wanted to order figuring at some point, he would speak to me. He never did. I looked over at him a couple of times, stood there for a few minutes and finally just turned around and walked out of the restaurant and left. He never looked at me and he never spoke to me. I found this little gem working in the area. There is something about a family/veteran owned restaurant that really hits the spot. The food was awesome and the 2 owners were working the kitchen. My family has happily been getting food from Ammos since it opened, but we unfortunately will no longer be ordering from here due to the attitude of the owner. We ordered food this evening for our family of 4 and picked it up directly from the restaurant ourselves. However, when we got home with the order (in a tied closed bag), our gyros were not in it. I immediately contacted the store to let them know about the issue and the owner proceeded to lecture me about how he had put the gyros in the bag himself and it was a "one in a million" chance that they weren't there. He argued with me for two minutes before I finally hung up out of frustration, grabbed my keys, and went out again to get dinner for my kids. Very disappointing! read more

Life brought me to Ammos on Monday night. Ammo's is a "order at the counter" strip mall kind of joint. I walked in and approached the unattended counter. After a reasonable amount of time, a gentlemen (I assumed to be an owner) got up from his table and took my order. He might have said two words total. I ordered a Gyro, fries, and drink for about ten bucks. I picked a table and waited a bit for someone to bring it out. There were no words from the cook/food runner either. The pita was hot and fresh. The gyro meat was ample but not very warm. The Taziki sauce was super tasty. The fries were hot but unremarkable. For ten bucks I got a good gyro and fries but no conversation. It's a good value for a quick and tasty meal. Look for a smile and a friendly word elsewhere. read more

I've been to this place multiple times and really like the food. The only thing preventing a five star review is that they have their TV shoving Faux News down your throat. I was there at lunch and overheard someone else complaining about it and talking between tables, sort of arguing about politics. It's just not a good look and unnecessary. Put on the Food Channel or the Weather Channel. You are pissing off half your customers. read more

The old guy working is a complete A hole, absolutely no customer service. I ordered the gyro and the picture advertises it with fries. When I went to pick up the food, the man acted very bothered that I asked for my order. When I checked the order I asked if there were fries that came with it, he rudely replied thats only if you order the combo! I said oh okay, your picture online shows the gyro with fries for the item I choose. Again replied extremely rude. I was very caught off guard, took my food and left. When you order through yelp, it goes through door dash, I opted to leave a tip for the restaurant when I placed my order, even though I did take out. That was a mistake! Got home and ate, the gyro was horrible! Meat tasted fake, pita was soggy, tomatoes were not fresh and cut really thick, and I got there right as the app told me too and had a short drive home. Requested no onions and there was still an obvious onion taste. Probably put them on it and then took them off. Overall HORRIBLE experience, I chose this spot over a different Mediterranean restaurant, another lesson learned!. DONT waste your time and $! Bad food. And even worse service! read more

We entered at 7:15pm and closing time is 8:00 pm. Owner let us know we could only order takeout and could not eat in restaurant because they were closing. I said we would be out by 8:00 and he said no you cannot stay and eat because I need to clean. Then he locked the doors and started turning lights off at 7:40pm and told us we needed to leave. Amazing and fresh food with exceptional service! Popped in to grab a quick bite and was warmly greeted by the Owner who took our order. We grabbed gyros with fries and side salad, fatoosh salad, and a chicken shawarma plate with rice. While our food was being prepared, I noticed the military photos on the wall and recognized the gentleman in the photos was the Owner! I started up a conversation since my hubs is also prior military, and it was refreshing to see another immigrant who loves this country so much that he went to fight for us to keep our freedoms (thank you for your service!). And not only does he support our military, but first responders as well. Before I knew it, our order was ready, and we got to dig into some delicious food! The gyros were perfection; no other way to put it. Fries were crispy, hot, and not too greasy. The fatoosh salad -- oh my word -- let me just say that I've searched for almost 20 years to find a place that has an authentic fatoosh salad and finally found it! We ordered home delivery from this place and that was our first try here. We overall liked the food. Huge quantity and flavorful meat with fresh fluffy rice. Not the best we ever had in the Mediterranean but a place where we can go again too. No complaint as such. The prices are very reasonable too and the menu has a lot of variety to choose from. First off: I love the food here. It's fresh, they have tabouleh, and it's delicious. So, there's no question about that part. Second: We decided to head over from Surprise for dinner. When we arrived it was so hot inside and with 117° today we were going to eat there anyway because they had fans and we love the food. Lastly: We made sure we left the house on time because they close at 8 on a Saturday night. We go to the counter to order at 7:11. We are told they don't take orders (we were a party of two) after 7:30. We were told we could order something but we would have to take it to go. If they don't take orders after 7:30 and we can't order in at 7:10, then they really aren't open until 8. Very disappointing after the drive over, the fact that it's counter order service, and the uninviting atmosphere. read more

I ordered it tonight & it was the complete opposite.. starting with the Supreme Entree, I ordered one of each of the Kabob (1 chicken, 1 Kefta, & 1 Shish).. each Kabob was so dry that I had to drink water just to swallow it.. one of the two Gyro combos I ordered had literally one tomato on it & they forgot the onions.. my daughter had the kids chicken strips & she complained that it tasted like fish, I'm assuming because it was fried in the same oil that they do the fish & chips in.. huge disappointment especially considered it was $76 for all of this. read more
