Today my daughter and I came in from the heat for lunch and ordered: - Fanta Glass Soda Bottle - Bottled Pure Leaf Green Tea with Cane Sugar - Lentil Soup (to share) with warm Pita triangles. This Lentil Soup is excellent. My daughter agrees. - Chicken Shawarma Plate with Original Hummus & Salad. The salad is fresh and delicious. I love the vinaigrette it comes with. I requested Toom garlic sauce on the side instead of pink garlic sauce. I was so full at the end of this meal. It's such good, authentic fresh food. - Chicken Shawarma Plate with Cilantro Jalapeño Hummus & Salad. The lovely gentleman helping us at the counter gave us each a fork and a sample of the Cilantro Jalapeño Hummus. It's really good! My daughter chose it and said she wanted a whole tub to take home. It's a little spicy but even I could handle it. We sat at a booth inside the air conditioned restaurant today. Food is brought to you with reusable silverware. This is my first time visiting this restaurant, which is in a strip mall near a grocery store in Glendale. It's a fast casual restaurant with a lot of choices and friendly staff. I don't venture too far outside of my normal ordering when I go to a Greek restaurant, therefore I got a euro plate with rice and some salad and pitas. There is nothing fancy about the presentation but it was a full plate of food and it was full of flavor. I brought some of it home and my wife tried it the next morning and was blown away at how good it was. Generous portions. Especially the side of fries! I love my fries and the fries here at Pita Kitchen are AMAZING! Crunchy exterior and potatoey fluff on the inside! Quite possibly my favorite fries. I'm definitely coming back for more! Service: We ordered for takeout on a Wednesday afternoon. There was only one family eating inside when we arrived. It was about $25 for my wife and I. She wasn't particularly hungry so that's why she ordered the kids meal. But food came out within 5 minutes with napkins, utensils and packaged up nicely with solid meal-prep containers; not just cheap styrofoam. Ambiance: The entire place has a good vibe. Clean for the most part. I did notice, while waiting for my food, there was some dusty wires hanging from the display screens overhead. I've eaten at plenty of gyros places here, and the quality of gyros meat here is the WORST I've ever had. Ever! Bought two, threw them out after eating half of one. Also, I found just a half tablespoon of diced tomato in it and some chopped onion. Hardly any tzatziki, also. The hummus was just meh. The,pita was good, but they don't make the pita. Terrible customer service, period, and I'll never visit again. I ordered a salad with salmon and was still waiting after 30 minutes. When I asked about the status of my order, the response I received was shocking. The manager harshly responded that fresh food takes time. As an inquiring customer waiting, I simply wanted an update. I felt like he was giving me a justification of why they were taking too long. I requested crispy salmon and was told that's why it took longer and because it was fresh. After looking at the salmon, it was certainly not crispy. I ended up waiting over 35 minutes for a raw salad with a piece of salmon (not crispy). More than anything, the attitude of the manager is what stood out in a most negative way and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone that is used to good customer service. We have been eating at this location since it opened!! We LOVE the food!!!! However, prices have increased far surpassing what is justified in my opinion. In addition, the portion sizes had decreased a lot. I used to get several meals out of one plate order (I don't eat a lot at one sitting) and now I have just a small portion leftover. There is not a lot of overhead nor many employees. It is a smaller sized location, so I compare the overhead costs of a large restaurant with dozens of employees whose food prices are similar when trying to justify the higher cost AND the smaller portions! One or the other would be expected, but not both. I do realize that most of this type of restaurant is charging more, but I would rather go to a sit-down restaurant and enjoy the experience AND the food for about the same cost. read more

First problem is the prices on the menu online have not caught up to the prices in the store. The $6.99 pita is now $8.49 and to make it a combo adds $4 now. My falafel was a hot, watery mess. I was recently in the area and read the reviews for Pita Kitchen. I ordered a Gyro and Lentil Soup. The Gyro had a good portion of meat. The Gyro was large with adequate seasoning. The lentil soup was the star of the meal. It was tasteful with a little tang. It was one of the best lentil soups I have ever had. It is work returning for the soup. Today was my second time trying Pita Kitchen. Last time I ordered a chicken shawarma pita which was pretty good and today I ordered a gyro with extra tatziki and a side or Greek fries. Gyro was good! Had a really fresh pita and the gyro meat was tender and delicious. I was not a big fan of the Greek fries. Will not order again.
