Went today for the salmon plate. Had a glass of wine. Dirty glass. Disappointing since they charge so much for it. I had specifically asked the server to be sure they asked the kitchen not to overcook the salmon. Got it after a long wait, and it was so charred that the end pieces were crunchy. AND the bones! I mentioned it to the server, whose only response was, "That's weird, she gets it from the same place." Whatever. If it hadn't been for the caper butter, I wouldn't have been able to eat the salmon. Don't know when I may be back. I like the place but they need to step up their game. We need more cozy places in Sun City that respect the customer's wishes. read more

This is a cute little Mediterranean place in Sun City. It's very quiet with no background music. It's different. I'm not sure if I like all the quiet. But, I always enjoy a mature server. It's a Sun City thing! They seem to care more about what they're doing. They have daily specials here daily and they appear to showcase different types of foods. The day I was there, they had some German specials. I went for the Middle Eastern selections and picked the Chicken Kabob sandwich with the lentil soup. It was very good. We talked to some other customers who said that were regulars. They were regulars and were very pleased with their lunches. I will be back to try some different things. Lovely patio setup. The food was good, but not comparable to the Greek food that was all around me in Connecticut. I had a chicken gyro and tea, and that gyro was very generous of portion. Update May 2025: I like that they have specials each day, so I went on Liver and Onions Night. Hadn't had that in a long time and it was tasty especially since it had bacon strips as a topper (see pic). Next time I'll get the side salad instead though since the vegetables seemed to be those medleys from the frozen foods section but their side salads were always on target. read more

The chicken chimichanga was as good as I have ever had and my 50 plus years of eating Mexican food. I've also had two other excellent meals there on my trip back to Phoenix, and I'll be going back again before I leave to go home. And I'll make sure I eat here again when I come back. It's a simple small place offering great specials, every day it's different. Sometimes you may need to wait for a table it's that busy. But the staff works well as a team and will have you seated and set up as soon as possible. If there's a hiccup they will make it right. read more

Sunset Bistro is a Mediterranean Restaurant located in Sun City. This is a small restaurant and bar with a patio. prices are LOW and portions are extra large. This place gets packed with loud blue hairs that know each other early in the evening. We tried a Greek Sampler platter (Greek salad, hummus, falafel and more). It was very large and very typical of Greek restaurant style. For dinner we tried the Gyro Platter and the Friday Walleye Special. Both really were good and both were extra generous portions. I have paid twice as much for walleye from other restaurants that was much smaller and not prepared as well as it was from Sunset Bistro. Also the potato was perfectly prepared. For those reasons I feel that Sunset Bistro is deserving of 4 stars. read more

Great find! Loved my lunch today. Passing through visiting a friend near by, found this place for lunch. YUMMY! The chicken and rice were delicious, Well seasoned that doesn't overpower at all. Tender and cooked just right. The iced tea option is black and for my taste, could have been far less dark (more watered down). The space is not large and it was almost completely filled. My friend told me about Sunset Bistro having specials each day of the week. He said Tuesday's they have German food and they make a great schnitzel. My friend, brother and I all had the Jager Schnitzel (pork cutlet). It comes with 2 side dishes. I had the Potato pancakes ( a small side of apple sauce) and the Spätzle ( egg noodles). The Schnitzel comes with a small cup of mushroom gravy where you can liberally pour or dunk the Schnitzel. The Schnitzel in spots was a little tough but very good. I did use the mushroom gravy with Spatzle to cut the saltiness taste. The Potato pancakes with the apple sauce was delicious. Who would think a Mediterranean restaurant would have a different food theme each day and make great German food. Will give there other items a try in the future. read more

Went there since we were in the mood for Mediterranean food. We were surprised that the establishment allowed people to smoke outside in their patio area. Outdated atmosphere which is dark & small and had a weird smell which almost made us leave however we were hungry. Food was disappointing & not Mediterranean! The soup was salty, chicken kabobs was tasteless & tough, hard to cut and eat, left most of the chicken on the plate & still got charged. Mostly older folks dining there, maybe locals. This place, tucked away in a little strip mall in Sun City, cannot be beat - it has the most amazing food for the most amazing price - from the daily specials to the everyday menu - if you live anywhere within 10-15 miles of Sunset Bistro - you have got to make a visit here - you won't be disappointed. The servers are friendly and will always help you with tips on the menu and constantly smile. This is a small place, a unique little stop - while it's been so flipping hot this summer, too hot to sit outside, they have a nice outdoor patio and I look forward to going there when the temps cool down. It's a nice outdoor atmosphere by the golf course. Wine pours were good and the SW Salad was pretty good the lettuce was fresh and crisp. The chicken was moist snd it was filling. Ok folks here we go again! The Sunset Bistro in Sun City has amazing food, highly recommend the food, just be weary of eating there. You can eat and drink as long as don't say anything. The problem isn't the food, it's the management. Lisa, the manager, in her infinite wisdom makes poor decisions with customers. She can't handle any criticism. It's a sad reality of our society today I believe. Anyway, go if you're a church mouse and can sit and eat and drink quietly. Otherwise, go down Bell and find a better establishment! read more

I had a Gyro plate and a Greek Salad. The restaurant had an extensive menu with many different types of food. This restaurant is one of my favorites in the area, and is one that we ride bicycles to often. Usually the Waitress is working solo and she always performs exceptionally well. I have never been disappointed by the food, and everything I have ever had has just been incredible. Strickly on Tuesday German night. 4 tries and each one worse then the other. Its not that it isn't authentic but that it is bland. As in no flavor at all. Anyone knowing roulanden or stuffed cabbage knows it's about flavor. Even the sauerkraut and spaetzel lack salt. Roulanden had the onions, mustard and dill pickle but none of these items brought anything to the table. Gravy was not made from the braising liquid so fell flat. I know it's bad when I fork over good money ($15 for each of the forementioned plates) and leave the plate loaded with food. Service is spotty (lol as in not great) and waitress could care less about asking. How is the food? Need more water? Or for that matter welcoming you or even acknowledging your presence. Took well over 15 minutes to get a menu when place was slow. Will I be back? Yes for the pita or swarma items. read more
