This was my first time visiting the new location for Lawson Bakery in Morgan Hill, and I have to say they absolutely did not disappoint. We drove over 20 miles just to pick up a birthday cake for my son because we have been longtime customers ever since their older location on the other side of Morgan Hill. Their cakes have always been amazing, full of flavor, fresh, moist, and very reasonably priced for the quality you get. While we were there, I decided to try their coffee and I believe the espresso was Tilly brand, and wow it was excellent. I also had one of their cinnamon rolls and it was honestly to die for. Soft, fresh, full of flavor, and one of the best pastries I've had in a long time. What really made the experience even better was the staff. Everyone was super nice, polite, welcoming, and very professional. You can tell they truly care about their customers. Their boss should definitely give them a raise because great customer service like that is hard to find nowadays. Lawson's Bakery in Morgan Hill was definitely busy, which is expected for Mother's Day weekend. It was super loud inside and they told us the wait would be about 20 minutes, but we ended up waiting well over that. Besides the longer wait time, the experience was still good overall. The ladies working there were very nice and helpful. I ordered 8 breakfast burritos for my family and we sat outside on the patio. When we first sat down, the table was dirty and I accidentally got water on myself, but one of the girls quickly came outside and cleaned the table for us right away, which I appreciated. She even had the chef come sweep the area, so they definitely tried to make things right and were attentive to customer service. The patio area was actually really nice with plenty of seating and a family-friendly atmosphere. They even had games outside for kids like Connect 4 and Legos, which was a nice touch for families waiting or eating outside. The inside was packed, but the outdoor seating made it more enjoyable. We ordered the Breakfast Burrito with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, country potatoes, scallions, and cheddar cheese in a whole wheat tortilla. The food was delicious and the burritos were packed with ingredients and very filling. First time to this new location as I use to go to the other one years ago. Great spot and easy to get in and out. I had some time on my hands so figured I'd come by and glad I did. I was in the mood for pancakes and eggs but also love a good breakfast burrito. Figured I could order both and eat the burrito later. The pancake and eggs by far the best I've had in a while. The texture and taste were unbelievable. Maybe I've just never had good pancakes but this is my now favorite! The eggs also were great! Bravo to this place for making amazing pancakes! The breakfast burrito I was able to eat a bit and finished later in the day. Very well recommended but the pancakes for me are the star of the show! We stopped by for drinks after dinner now that Lawson's Bakery is open Thursday-Saturday 5pm-9pm. Their pastries look so delicious. I now know where I can buy cakes for parties. They have burnt almond cake and carrot cake. Our family favorites. I ordered the Spicy Mango Margarita which was just the right amount of spicy and refreshing. Hubby ordered the Honey Bee, which was just the richer amount of sweet and yummy. Our server was friendly and gave us good recommendations. The ambiance was inviting. I have been a long time customer, I have always had a good experience. I like their cookies and the food items. Most recently I had the veggie sandwich, very good. Coffee here is also good. I've had the cakes here, they are good. I just feel that the cakes are very sweet. I've had their pumpkin pie during Thanksgiving and I do enjoy that. Overall I'm glad we have this bakery in town and I like the new location even though parking is a little difficult. The bakery has a decent amount of seating and outdoor seating also. Wow, this was so disappointing. The chicken sandwich was $16 and was basically all lettuce. I honestly thought it was a joke when it came out. I even found a review from a couple years ago where the sandwich looked completely normal, so I'm not sure what happened, but this should not be served for that price. The avocado on the toast was unripe, and the portion itself felt pretty sad for what it cost. Not pictured is the banana cream latte made with their "house-made syrup," which tasted exactly like a banana laffy taffy. I have a hard time believing it was actually made in house. Was in Morgan Hill today and stopped in at Lawson's Bakery to try their beignets, which I'd heard were very good. The bakery is on Monterey Highway in front of a townhouse complex and easy to miss. I had no trouble finding a parking spot, but it was a quiet Saturday evening. Other reviews mention parking can be challenging during peak hours. There was only one person behind the counter. She was very nice and had things under control. I was concerned because there were no beignets in the glass case with the pastries, but she explained they make them fresh to order and they take about ten minutes. Each order consists of 10 small beignets. While I was waiting I ordered a pumpkin chocolate chip scone. The woman behind the counter (should have got her name) was kind enough to give me an extra scone for free. It was sweet and delicious. I waited until I got home to try the beignets (okay I had one in the car). They came with a little container of caramel for dipping. Yum, so good. They are very light and rolled in sugar. Lawson's Bakery also has coffee and savory items like breakfast burritos, veggie quiche, grilled artichokes, and more. Their sweets include cakes, cupcakes, cheesecake bars, bread pudding, scones, lemon bars, and much more. It's a cute bakery with indoor and outdoor seating. The good: I met up with friends here and we all brought our toddlers. It was so toddler friendly! There were coloring books and crayons, games, chalk on the wall, and lawn games outside in their large outdoor patio space. I loved their seasonal drink options and their pastries were stupendous. I got two cookies (s'mores cookie and a gingersnap) and the flavors were balanced and the texture was so chewy and nice. It was also very affordable! The interior is modern and casual with high ceilings, self-serve napkins/utensils and a lot of natural lighting. The bad: It smelled like cow manure outside. My coffee was too sweet. I recently visited Lawson's Bakery and ordered the iced lavender honey oatmilk latte and the tuxedo cheesecake. The latte was okay overall. The lavender honey flavor was pleasant and drinkable, but the cold foam and oat milk were separating from the coffee, which affected the presentation and texture. Unfortunately, the tuxedo cheesecake was disappointing. It tasted dry and stale, as if it had been sitting out for a while. There wasn't any standout flavor or richness that I would expect from a bakery cheesecake. It honestly tasted more like a store-bought cheesecake from Safeway than a fresh bakery dessert. My most searched food item is breakfast burrito. I am usually disappointed when I do order them but not this time. It was delicious to the point that we needed to go order another (2nd time was veggie burrito). The pancakes were perfectly fluffy with a nice crispy texture. Would have ordered more but didn't want to overeat. The veggie burrito had elevated tasting veggies in it. Definitely tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, egg whites, etc. Housemade salsa was in containers at the front. It is brilliant because you don't have people filling a small plastic container only to make a mess. Grab what you need. The new location is in a nice area off Monterey Road in Morgan Hill infront of a new townhomes area. Parking is accessible either in the small parking lot or street parking. There are plenty of outdoor tables and a few picnic tables in the nice patio area. The bakery looks inviting and nice inside. Simple modern decor with a few tables available for dine in. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There are displays of some delectable pastries and baked goods in the front counter area. We ordered fried mac and cheese bites, chicken wings, the wedge salad, the honey bee cocktail and a Chardonnay glass. The food was delicious and flavorful. Our drinks were refreshing. The only thing I was disappointed in was the fact it didnt seem to have a lot of bacon despite the fact I asked for all bacon and no sausage. Burnt almond cake! Been on a burnt almond cake kick. This place is bomb. I know "the king" of burnt almond is Peter's bakery in San Jose, and to be honest it wasn't the best I tried. It was good but it wasn't the best. Lawsons cakes, they tell you that you have to leave the cake out for at least 2 hours, and to be honest we left out the whole day and that's when it tasted the best! We did the 2 hour and the frosting was still too cold and didn't stick to the cake, but when we did the whole day it was perfect. The cake also was super fluffy and moist and not at all dry. The frosting and almonds... excellent. For a traditional burnt almond, this one was great! I honestly like it better than Peter's Bakery. read more

The service was great but i was a bit disappointed with the pastries from the lemon bars to the spinach feta.. The Spinach feta i bought for my mom and she said she could not stomach it as it had a strong taste of fish.. i tried it and she was totally right.. not sure what happened there! The coffee is definitely on the pricier side compared to other spots in the area, but the large venue, outdoor toys, and little crayon station inside make it a great place to bring kids. I want to tell a story about how a local business can really step up its service game. I've had three instances where DoorDash drivers picked up my order by mistake, but the staff and the owner corrected the issue without hesitation. Bravo to the fantastic staff for taking good care of the customers. They could've easily passed the buck to DoorDash, but they took initiative and really apologized. Met ups with local friends and my gosh the pancakes were some of the best I have ever had. They have a very limited menu and only a few vegan options so that would have made this place 5 stars. I had the breakfast sandwich with no cheese and I swear it tastes like they make the English muffins there. My husband loved their breakfast burrito on wheat tortilla and the red velvet latte. They have quick counter service but I could see this place getting packed. On a Saturday at lunch, it was steady but not packed. It's further north from the downtown district but in a new space. The restaurant has a fun chalk wall and two gender neutral restrooms. I didn't get to try their cakes and pastries but our friends highly recommend them. read more

Cute bakery shop hidden in the corner. There is plenty of room for indoor dining inside. They serve breakfast and take orders to make cake for parties. They also serve coffee, fresh bakery goods (beignets, fudge brownies, blondies etc.). The service is excellent. Everyone was kind and patient and gave accurate estimates in terms of how long it takes to make there freshly made beignets. I have to say, the freshly made beignets is the main attraction for me, especially with their homemade caramel sauce. It is absolutely amazing! I will definitely be coming back just for that. This is my second time at Lawson's Bakery! This has been on my to do list since they opened. My family and I recently moved to Gilroy and we have wanted to try Lawson's for a while! A couple weeks ago I met some friends and had coffee/breakfast. The store is so cute. They have both outside & inside seating. It's decorated beautifully for Christmas! It's very clean.The staff was incredible! So friendly, so caring, and so helpful. The coffee was yummy and the breakfast burritos were to die for. The salsa was yummy! I brought home some scones and cinnamon rolls for the family, they were a hit! Today, I went in with my sister in law and we had a breakfast burrito! We took it to go and it was so yummy! May even have been better the second time around. We also brought home goodies for the family: lemon bar, blondies, and a slice of cake. ALLL were highly talked about by the family.
