This one hurts. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because the customer service is still good. I've been a fan for over 30 years. Back when this place was on Monterey road north of cochrane. I realize they've changed owners since then, not sure when. Came in the night before the 4th of July and ordered a cheese enchilada and it was the worst I've ever had. Then a week ago ordered chili verde and it tasteless. Tasted like nothing. Margarita review only! House margaritas were some of the worst we've ever had (and I have a room with ~400 bottles of tequila at my house). Rot gut Torada tequila that's $13 a liter, but a 7-8 oz margarita is $15?? On the tequilamatchmaker app, it gets 32/100! The worst rating I've ever seen!! At least get Hornitos or something.... Great Mexican restaurant right in the heart of Morgan Hill's downtown area. The staff is super friendly and helpful. There are both inside and outside dining, as well as a full bar with great drinks. I am a 40+ year veteran of this restaurant and I have so many great memories there. The food is still good and frankly could be great, but I do have one issue and it's been consistent over the last year or so... The food is warm at best, never hot. In the old days, the plates would come out sizzling, and the beans would be bubbling... The margaritas are still top-notch! Great atmosphere and great people working there. I just can't believe more people haven't pointed out that the food comes out warm. We were there a couple of weeks ago with a group of 10 and not one person had a truly hot plate. I've been here several times and most of the time the food is good, but typical. But not today. I ordered the combination salad and it was SO GOOD! One of the best salads I've had in a long time. Although expensive, the prawns were cooked perfectly with just a perfect amount of "blackening". The asparagus we're grilled to perfection. The greens were crispy and fluffy and fresh. Our waitress came to refill my water and her arm hit the straw of my margarita and knocked my margarita over and onto the table leaving me with maybe two drinks left in the drink. We keep trying other Mexican restaurants, but are usually disappointed. Sinaloa never disappoints. We started going to them in their old location (before it burned down) and were so glad it reopened. I was not sure what to expect. I like to try new places so we gave it a shot. OMGSH. I had the mole enchiladas and lemme tell you. That mole was so darn delicious. It's hard to make mole. I always ask if it's made there in the restaurant. When I asked the waiter he said yes so I took his word lol. Also had the chile relleno. Really poor service, we came in, sat down promptly, busser was lovely (older lady) bought us chips/salsa right away, then no trace of server for 15 mins! We had no water, I went to the bar, and a very gracious bar tender apologized and bought us water, he even offered to take our order. I saw a female waitress who had ONE table only in our section and asked if she could take our order as I had a three year old hungry, she said ' i am not your server'. Wow! What happened to just helping a customer out. Our server was no where to be found, it was only after I flagged him down through the gracious and nice bar tender he showed up. He took our order, and I also ordered a diet coke. 15 mins passed no sign of the diet coke either! I went to ask him and found him walking around the other side of the restaurant and said, where is my diet coke, he answereed " oh sure I can bring it now'. What a clueless person, this is BY FAR the worst service I have ever encountered in a restaurant ,but it was too late to walk away we felt trapped. 30 mins delay our food finally arrived. They not even once came to check on us. We had ordered 7 shots of cazadores tequila, and they were the smoothest shots of Cazadores we've ever had..... why??? They definitely were watered down shots. This place wouldn't last a month in Sinaloa, Mexico. The food is edible, but just barely. I had the tamales which were dry and seemed like they were frozen and reheated in a microwave. Not to mention they were pretty bland despite the sauce they were drenched in. Also, while using the rest room, I noticed a man wearing a cook's jacket emerge from a stall and quickly rinse his hands in water without using soap. I asked him if he was a cook and replied that he was. I suggested to him that he should use soap and vigorously wash his hands after using the facility. He simply stood dumbfounded as I walked out. They both disappeared, both before and after ordering. In one case, she went over to the bar and chatted with 2 friends for a half hour. I flagged down a bartender to inquire if the waitress had quit! He was very helpful in getting us chips, salsa & our cold meals, which I sent back for reheating. Then the waitress finally had the nerve to show up. She brought the check, which had regular price for drinks during happy hour, thinking perhaps that we were too stupid to notice getting ripped off in the amount of $18!! Had to send that back twice to get corrected price on 3 drinks. What a disaster- the bartender got the tip & she got a few words of advice. Feel like I am back on my honeymoon... Ever since my wife and I got back from Cancun, we have yet to get that true taste of Mexico. UNTIL NOW! This place is perfect! They make spicy margaritas! this is not genuine Mexican food. Overpriced, driving through Morgan H and saw that "their" parking lot was full, figured locals know... Not, I think someone said it was public parking... As I said, overpriced and not genuine Mexican... was brought chips when we sat down, that's expected, ordered and waited and they offered more ships (we ate the first ones but thought they were stale, whatever), these chips were better, just plain chips and ok salsa, later I found out they charged us for the chips 5$... By the way, the "Supreme" burrito is just what you could get from any Mex shop worth it's salt but twice the price! It turns out I asked Carne Asada and they charged me 2$ more on top of an already overpriced 16$ burrito! (later I found out they normally put shredded beeth or ground beth in their "Supreme", wtf) overall, don't come here, I know that Morgan H is better than this and I will find the good places eventually that are worth every penny of my hard-earned money. read more

This is a review for the margaritas and chips and salsa. I ordered a blended strawberry margarita and it was dangerously delicious. Ive been craving it since I had it. Meanwhile, I filled up with home made tasting thin tortilla chips. And the salsa was pretty darn good too. I'll definitely be back! We ordered one order of ground beef enchiladas Rojas and one of ground beef enchiladas Verdes. Both with refried beans. What arrived? Enchiladas full of ground beef and chopped super spicy peppers! Nowhere on the menu does it say it's spicy. Completely inedible. Rwfried beans are like soup, and very bland. They appear to be homemade, but have very little flavor.
