We've lived in MH for about 10 years and I finally stopped by this place for the first time today. I got there at about 12:30pm and they were pretty much out of bagels. All they had left were Jalapeno Cheddar, Poppy and Whole Wheat. Luckily, I just wanted to get a quick bite to eat to kill time while waiting for my car to get worked on at a nearby shop. I got the Turkey and Swiss melt on a Jalapeno Cheddar bagel. The sandwich comes with Tomato, Onion and cheese. I added lettuce because it just seemed like it needed it. The sandwich came out quickly and was quite good. However I could barely taste any Jalapeno in the bagel which was disappointing. Overall I enjoyed my food. This is my second or third time in here. Yesterday I had the poppy bagel with my fave lox and cream cheese with some produce. It was delicious however I'm a huge lover of jalapeño cheese bagels or any kind of cheese bagel. So today I got the jalapeño cheese with everything I said above. This is the first jalapeno cheese bagel I have ever had where the jalapeños are actually a little spicy and I LOVE IT! I grabbed a hot coffee to compliment it while I head to work for the day. The cashier was super friendly and welcoming. She thanked us for coming in and buying from them. She was so kind to all of us and you can tell they appreciate their customers. We tried the sausage breakfast sandwich on pesto, the bacon breakfast sandwich, a chorizo breakfast burrito, a strawberry smoothie, and a drip coffee. The breakfast sandwich was okay, nothing special. I didn't like Swiss cheese on my sausage. I would have preferred cheddar cheese. The burrito was better than the sandwiches. If you like chorizo, I'd recommend the burrito. My drip coffee was good. Strawberry smoothie was good, too. Coffee refills are .75 cents. Overall, the atmosphere is wonderful. I have always loved the breakfast bagel sandwiches here. Today I got the sausage and egg bagel sandwich on a Swiss bagel. And it was absolutely delicious. The bagels are soft and tasty and pair well with a breakfast sandwich. The ambiance is very cute and cozy and in a very cute strip mall that happens to be super close to the gym so I like to go there right after my classes when I have a morning class. Today was the first time that I tried the Vietnamese coffee. And although it's a little bit weaker than I'm used to, because I'm used to them being super strong. I was still very satisfied with the taste and the mixture of the French coffee with the condensed milk. The service at this spot is always super friendly and very helpful. Customer service was great. Staff were super hospitable. Lines can be intimidating, especially when lines were out the door (social distancing era). Everyone is trying to get their bagel fix early in the morning! They seem to work with a sense of urgency to get customers in and out in a timely manner. However, that also hinders it because not only did they get my order wrong, they made up for it by giving me a free cookie! Props to them on that. BUUUUT, when I left the store and was sitting in the car, I notice that they forgot my sliced avocado, which I paid extra for... I recommend checking your order to ensure it's correct. I love this place and hate to give a bad review! The bagels are my favorite! However today I ordered a bagel and right away the lady that just took the order of the person in front of me (used the touch screen and handled money) grabbed my bagel from the case and put it on the line to be cut and toasted. I've been going to this place since I was a kid. I'm still going as an adult, which says a lot. When I was a kid I didn't really have much of a say over which bagel place we went to nor did I really care. I just wanted a bagel, it didn't matter where I was getting that bagel, unless I had to go super far away for that bagel or if it was a place that didn't specialize in making bagels. Like if I got a bagel from a place that mainly sells burritos or pho and they sold bagels on the side...that probably wouldn't be a great bagel. Pretty much my criteria as a kid for bagels was a place that was close and specialized in making bagels. The Daily Bagel Cafe has both of those things. It's only a 10min drive away and you know they specialize in making bagels if "bagel" is literally part of their name. As I got older, I started making more decisions for myself, which meant trying other bagels from other bagel shops. Throughout my lifetime I've tried many bagels from many different bagel shops. Even after going through so many other bagels, I still think Daily Bagel Cafe has the best bagels. Having being exposed to a 900+ reviews 4-5 star rated bagel joint in Absolute Bagels in New York for several days I think I have a good sense of a good bagel. I've been in Morgan Hill for a while and never tried this place although it is RIGHT HERE IN FRONT OF ME. Finally I went. It's a nice roomy corner shop in the main strip mall on Tennant Station. It looks family run and the staff has always been sincerely nice. They have a display of all the current bagels they have available. I've tried the Cinnamon Crunch with cream cheese and a pastrami bagel sandwich on a Jalapeno bagel. The cinnamon crunch was delightful due to the sugar crystals on the outside of the bagel. Adds great texture and flavor, and it is a must to have this toasted of course with the cream cheese. As for the sandwich, one may think a sandwich from a bagel place would be average at best, but surprisingly Daily Bagel serves up a pretty darn good one. I got a pastrami sandwhich on a jalapeno bagel. It comes with SPROUTS! The pastrami tasted good, everything tasted fresh, and I was highly satisfied. With a small fountain drink, and chips or a cookie --it was $6. So how can I rate this place a perfect score like I rated one of the highest rated places in New York? Because I really did not find anything wrong with this place. The bagels tasted pretty darn good. This place isn't in NY so it's not like it's taking business away from that place. Looked for a quick breakfast during my visit to San Jose and this place honestly should be a pit stop when touring San Jose. The service was quick & friendly despite the amount of customers. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Bagel Sandwich with all the toppings on it, like lettuce, mayo, mustard, etc. The bagel was toasted well and there wasn't any scorch marks. I finished it within minutes of receiving it because it was sooo good. You can tell they used very good ingredients because the chicken was the dark meat (LOVE IT), so the grilled chicken was tender and soft. The lettuce wasn't too damp or dry and tasted really fresh.
