Dear GVA Cafe, why did I only come to find out how good your coffee was after so many years?! From the building outside, GVA is completely unsuspecting but they do say not to judge a book by its cover. On one fine fall day heading to the Morgan Hill Farmer's Market on a Saturday morning, I decided to try GVA's Ube Matcha Latte (iced and extra sweet) via their mobile app. Inside, there's seating available, complimentary water, and cozy vibes all around. They were cranking out drinks left and right, and doing it all with a smile. My drink was definitely a 100/10 because it was that good! They nailed the matcha latte ratio to ube. Even some gals at the Farmer's Market were intrigued by my drink because of its beautiful colors and of course it looked good too! Came here after getting hungry cycling, parking is terrible so I recommend just biking here because there are cycling stands outside this cafe, unfortunately the tables outside are dusty and not as cute as the ones inside. Mainly was attracted by the amazing matcha drink pictures and found out it cost extra for the pretty ceremonial grade matcha sprinkle on top so I opted for the normal version- which was actually really, really well mixed and tasty - so highly recommend as a cold drink for a nice sunny day! Honestly the pastries were okay and kinda $$$...I would stick to the drinks. They warmed up my almond croissant to the point of it becoming dry/tough and also got a thin roll danish that looked kinda meh, that I thought maybe tasted better than it looks but was very small and a bit stale. I can see this spot is popular with visitors and the servers were all very nice about it despite the sudden influx of people flooding in and standing around with long bouts of menu analysis paralysis. read more

I have always loved GVA Cafe. They consistently had excellent drinks and great customer service, so I was disappointed to experience my first visit since the change in ownership. When I got to the cafe I got there around 10:50 and there was only one person ordering ahead of me. I ordered two pumpkin lattes and a sandwich. Our food came out fairly quickly, but our drinks took considerably longer. I noticed several people who ordered before me receiving their drinks, so I assumed mine would be next. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. 2 people who had ordered after me received their drink so I approached the employee making the drinks and let him know I was still waiting. He responded, "Yeah, they're coming," so I continued to wait. At that point, I had already been waiting approximately 30 minutes for my drinks. Another customer approached and mentioned that she was in a hurry and needed to leave, and her drink was made and given to her before mine. This was especially frustrating because I had ordered well before several of the customers who received their drinks ahead of me. After waiting 30 minutes, I finally received two pumpkin spice lattes that unfortunately tasted watered down and lacked flavor. I'm genuinely disappointed because I really enjoyed GVA Cafe and their coffee. I had hoped that the quality and service would remain the same after the ownership change, but unfortunately, that has not been my experience. Based on this visit, I don't plan on returning to Mojo Hill. I would give this a negative star but because the sandwich was good and made within a decent amount of time I gave them 2 stars read more

This review is for BOTH the Unique coffee as well as the manager Jordan. I'm pretty picky and when I became a coffee drinker aprox 18 years ago - coffee was never great to me unless it had vanilla flavoring, sugar of different kinds, a huge variety of creamer options, or a combination of all three. NEVER did I EVER enjoy (only tolerated) a cup of black coffee, until the other day here. A friend who I was meeting to discuss Real Estate here decided that she had to buy me a cup. I told her to get a small cup of black only. She returned to the table with a large cup of black that I not only nursed like a Martini while we were talking, but the cup was so large and so delicious that I saved some for the following day and drank the leftover amount cold directly from the same paper cup - another first ever for me. When I returned back an hour later to ask Jordan what brand/flavor that I as in that cup her reply was that it was very unique. It was partially filled with the self pouring Treasury Airpot and then topped off with Portfolio Pour Over! Thank you Jordan!! read more

Probably the most silky tasty perfect perfectly cooked scrambled eggs with cheese (also topped with sausage pieces and a sliced avocado) that I've ever had in my entire life. I have had two amazing recent experiences with MoJo Hill. First, I had several hours to wait between local appointments and made this lovely and delicious cafe my temporary home. I had a great table in the front window, could plug in, and work away while enjoying a tasty Matcha latte and scone in the warm ambiance. I was able to move to an outside table when they closed at 3pm, and the staff was so incredibly warm and welcoming the whole time I was there. Then, last weekend, I ordered catered breakfast for 18 for a family event - huge, warm, and perfectly presented croissant breakfast sandwiches, a beautiful fruit platter, scrumptious pastries, and mini-desserts to die for! Oh and the carafe of their wonderful, fresh roasted coffee - with all the fixings, paper goods, etc.. The food was all laid out in perfectly packaged foil and presentation trays a few minutes before my pick up time. They helped me load up my car and off I went, ready for our family brunch. Everyone raved and there was so much food! I highly recommend both the cafe and the catering options here. Mary and Chuck run a high quality operation! And the staff makes you feel right at home. My original game plan for cookies fell through. I didn't realize the establishment was closed on Sundays. I wasn't sure what else was around in the bakery department, so my husband drove me down town to see what we could find. I spotted GVA and ran in right before closing as a last-resort, hoping they had something I could bring as a dessert to a friend's house. I caught the cashier while trying to get a quick bite, but she hurried to help (even with her mouth full, which I appreciated, being in a rush myself). She was very friendly and I got the chocolate chip cookies and biscottis I was hoping to find. The cookies were impressively big (my daughter told me they were as big as her head). We cut each cookie into 6 pieces so everyone could try the different types: chocolate chip, chocolate chocolate, and oatmeal, and then almond and chocolate biscottis. Love this little cafe/coffee shop stop. Covid has killed some good life vibes in downtown Morgan Hill during pandemic, so weekends these days are a blessing if you come this way. GVA Cafe is in an old corner building/landmark of downtown. You can't miss it. Plenty of available patio tables and chairs outside as well as inside. This place used to be bustling with excitement and many more customers. It was quiet after lunch today. Self order at kiosks. Pastries are at the front counter. Customers are mainly locals and tourists. I had the best cup of hot apple cider here. It's great for sweet autumn and November vibes. Cashier forgot my cider, so I reminded her about it. Iced matcha latte was ok. I enjoy the interior environment. Not huge, but happy and cozy inside. Prices are up these days, but it's still a relaxing stop to chill. Having GVA cafe here in a walkable and noticeable part of downtown Morgan Hill is amazing. Imagine hikers and bikers stopping by to grab and go. No lines or crowds today. Perfect time. read more

I'm not sure what happened. We usually came here for coffee/affogato on a lazy weekend. We hadn't been in since the new owners. We got 2 affogato today, $8.50 each. It's literally half the gelato and half the coffee that it used to be. NO whip cream. NO caramel or chocolate syrup. The comically large cup just makes it look even more pathetic. I'm not sure that we will be back. It tasted as good as it used to but I think we'll find somewhere else or I'll just make one at home. read more

Not sure if GVA recently changed ownership/management in the last year or so but the service and quality has gone drastically downhill. Our order, which is always the same (pastrami sandwich), has been wrong every single time we have visited since the summer of 2025. Bread left untoasted or just straight up soggy, dripping with mayo when we request none, we've been left waiting nearly an hour for a single sandwich while being the only customers. Coffee orders left out entirely. I don't know what has happened to this place but since the entire staff changed, everything has gone downhill. read more

I really appreciated being able to get something lighter for breakfast. I love a vegetable and egg combo but dont really want an omelette like most places offer- they are usually just too big & heavy. The veggie crepe with avocado was great! I think next time I'll get it without the cheddar. The salsa was great - not too spicy and not too mild. My only suggestion would be to use a non-dessert crepe batter but even with it lightly sweet it was good Quick service and everyone working was nice read more

TLDR: Mango Smoothie A great way to end our small trip in Morgan Hill on a hot sunny day! We stopped by this place because it's the only one nearby with some nice COLD smoothies. The service was friendly, welcoming me with a smile. Just got 2 smoothies. My wife got the Strawberry Smoothie, while I got a Mango one. Both were delicious and cooled us down on the spot. I like mine a little bit more, as my wife's was a wee bit sour. Most surprising is she loved her drink... She's not normally one for cold sweet drinks, especially with fruit in there. They also offer a very good breakfast bagel, I personally get the everything bagel with sausage (very good). The employees are always a delight and very friendly. Decided to stop over here for a quick coffee break on a Sunday afternoon. Luckily we caught them right before they closed at 2 pm. We went with the Honey Lavender Latte with oat milk (extra charge). The drink was alright, quite sweet and I could definitely taste the honey but that sweetness very much overpowered the lavender. Next time would ask for less sweet since I'm a huge lavender fan. There is lots of seating inside and outside (with umbrellas). The overall ambiance was really cute and loved that they offer a variety of drinks, food and gelato options. This place is really popular come here instead of Starbucks there at the perfect corner spot with nice summer feeling outdoor chairs and tables.
