I've always wanted to visit this place for karaoke, finally made it out on a Saturday night. Terrible experience with the KJ for the night. What's the point of karaoke if you turn down the mic and can't hear the singer? Even asking the KJ to turn up the mic mid song and I feel like he turned down the mic even more. The worst part as a singer is you have to put more energy into singing and it's the most annoying thing to do. This KJ had a lot of ego while at it sensitive too for a simple request. He seems to favor the women, quite obvious and sexist. These are the worst kinds of KJ you deal, unfortunately. Yikes! He barely has any singers, and disses new singers -- what a joke. I stayed longer to observe a bit more and I can guarantee you that he definitely has favorite singers/regulars. Side note on the bartenders, they really know how to ignore you lol, I mean this place is really nice, but the people running this place!!! Really don't like the way they treat people. Yuck, never coming back. Hope yall do something about this, puts a bad name on your business. read more

Came in with some friends on a Friday night and it was fun! My first time and I was pretty impressed. The bar is connected to the bowling alley and an arcade which is cool. Not to mention the pool and other games within the bar. People playing dice which I love. To top it off, it appeared to be karaoke night and they had a nice set up. As the karaoke set up was happening, alot more people were flocking in. Only knocking stars because my friends stated that they felt the bartenders were ignoring them. It appears that many regulars come in and they were the ones getting most of the attention. We were ready to turn up, drop a lot more money on drinks, but got frustrated and just left somewhere else. It did appear busy especially because they have to attend to the bowling alleys drink requests. Hopefully next time will be different. read more

I went for Saturday night karaoke. The DJ was an hour late. The place had very few people and only I seriously sang. A goofing off singer person was there. The DJ didn't even know the song requested or the group, the 80's. We're not That long ago folks. The experience was very disappointing. I won't be going back. On the good side... Worst,....bartenders,.....ever!! They are soooo slow. They act like you aren't there and they will even walk over to you and then just ignore you. If they do eventually decide to do their job they are so excruciatingly slow it's a wonder they ever manage to sell anything. I have been here at least 4 plus times in the last 6 months. I don't know what it is but these bartenders are grumpy af. If you don't like where you work, leave. I work at 2 different bars. I have my regular assholes, not gunna lie I will be a dick at times. But to new people I see walk in, I at least acknowledge them when I see them walk in. I have only been here once, being from Hollister. However, I group I joined on meetup.com had a meeting here one night. Since I was on vacation from work, I decided to go to this one. We met for Happy Hour (4 to 6) and got some free appetizers. Some of us played some pool afterwards, which was fun. I hadn't done that in years! I saw that they have karaoke, but it doesn't start till 9:30 (we went on Friday the 13th!) and we only stayed for the Happy Hour. Having only been here once, I cannot completely yet say if I like it or not, but it was fun the one time, so if the group ever meets here again, I'd like to go again, if I can. read more

Well, I had a lot of fun here! I came for my birthday and I didn't feel like going to San jose so I thought I'd try this place even though I was skeptical from the reviews.. I liked the variety of things to do. My best friend and I played air hockey first, then we went to the bar. There may be two bars, we went in the room with leather couches. The two bar tender girls were very pretty, positive, and attentive to our needs. Good dancing music, okay/mixed crowd except for one creepy guy but he never bothered us I was just aware of him. It's a very laid back place where you can have a lot of fun. I'd definitely go again! Oh and my drink was tasty! I got goose and cranberry juice with a little orange juice! Fun time, very busy when we came in. Not a problem. Only bowling alley that when you asked for the assist rail to guide the balls for the kids they tell you NO. that is reserved for the handicap. Really, you would think it does less damage to your lanes than having a little kids drop the ball in you lanes. Whatever I will have my kids just drop the bowling balls in the lanes. This bar is alright... everything else closes at 10 or 11 so if you're stuck going to strixe you could be worse off... They have 2 pool tables and people are good about respecting the sign-up chalk board if it's busy... If you're into karaoke they do that a couple times a week i think... I go here because it takes too long to get a lane at AMF Bowling near Oakridge plus it's cheap and 20 minutes from my house. It's a decent place, a lot of teeny bobers bobbing around as if they own the place. The bar is a meat market for singles since there's not much else to do in Morgan Hill. The wait staff sucks, it takes forever to get beer at the side window, I suggest you go in to the bar and order it there since they give priority to people there. If you go on Sunday which is unlimited games and free rental shoes from 8-10, the wait staff will still treat you like shit. If you use the feature on the bowling screen to request wait staff.... forget it, the waitress never comes so I don't see the point in having it there. I give this place 2 stars because it's cheap. read more

Choices are limited in my neighborhood so you make the best of what you have. Buddy and I came here to watch the Giants game and found the place to be A-OK! Decent size bar & lounge with plenty of tables and get this... recliners! This place has a sports bar theme to it. Noticed they have a lot of locals who the bartender knew on a first name basis. Overall i'm glad i found a place in my neighborhood where i can catch a football game. I'll just have to make sure i get here early enough to garb a "Raiders" recliner... On second thought, who knows what's gone down on those recliners, maybe i'll just stick with the barstools. read more

Prices are decent here, but in my opinion, the DJ plays music way too loud. Good place to lounge around and get a drink, but I'm sure the same crowd is here every weekend. Great atmosphere! Love the people that frequent the place too, seem like good people. Love the bowling alley section and it's service. As well as the area with arcade machines and pool tables. YET the bar gives me mixed feelings. Karaoke, drinks, and the pool tables are great! The pool tables are the ones that accept quarters but we'll kept enough. For the bad it's mainly the employees. The bartenders are rude and dismissive. One security guard is constantly hovering over the females as well(some overweight dark fellow)and actually cock blocked me. He literally separated us and she ended up leaving. I didn't care much at the time but speaking with regulars that frequent there I guess he does it constantly. They think out of spite too. Like c'mon dude your hella fat and just melting on your stool all night. Why you gotta be so petty. There's plenty of tail around that you can be overly watchful over. In the end though great place. I have probably been here 10+ times and still have never once recieved good service at the bar. They are so slow and make horrible drinks the majority of the time. We went bowling with the entire family, and then we found a GEM! Strixe! It had all the drinks we needed, sports on all the TVs and an amazing bartender...Lindsey! We also ordered food from Betsy's next door. Probably one of the best restaurants in Morgan Hill for breakfast. Jackie and Jenn are also so welcoming. StirXe is a laid back place you can go to have fun. It is not a place you can go to and expect the employees to be doormats. They have fun on the job and enjoy making your experience at StriXe the best it can be. With that said, not everyone's idea of fun is the same. The bartenders dance on the bar, not because they're "whores" but because they're the opposite. They don't like guys grabbing them or trying to freak with them. It's meant to be fun. If you can't understand or think there is something wrong with that, then that's fine. But Commenting on someone's personal appearance is just mean. Seriously, maybe you should reevaluate your ideas of what it means to be attractive because comments like that reflect only ignorance and ugliness. StriXe employees do their best to enhance every guest's experience. Sometimes that means giving a customer extra attention because it's their birthday or whatever. That doesn't mean that they are trying to steal your significant other. It just means they're trying to make a person's night memorable. Is this the cleanest establishment? No. Are the bartenders friendly and personable 100%of the time. No. They are human. Just like you. They don't always act super professional. That is why they are bartenders because it's a relaxed job where you help people party. So if the bartender is taking a shot it's almost always because a customer wants to buy it for them. It's pretty much a sacred bond of camaraderie between bartender and guest, or in most cases, a regular. Basically, you get what you pay for. So if you want snobby, prissy bartenders that are stiff and boring then you should go to a place where they will charge you an arm and a leg for a drink. But if you want a fun, more personable experience, great drinks for even better prices, a DJ who actually listens to your requests, and bartenders who are REAL, then StriXe is the place to be.
