During a brief hiatus when they stepped away from the business, I explored every nail salon within a two-mile radius, but nothing compared. Then, one day, while leaving Panera Bread, I heard someone call my name. It was Steve, one of the owners! He excitedly informed me that they would open Lavish Nails in two weeks, just a stone's throw away from Panera. Since their grand opening, I've been back for my mani-pedis and couldn't be happier. My favorite technicians are the best in the area, and I'm keeping their names a secret, but if you know, you know! Their skill and work ethic are unparalleled. It's hard to believe that their son was just a little kid when I first started visiting them at TN, and now he's graduated from college! BEWARE OF THIS PLACE: I called Lavish nails before my mom and I went there to get a price and I was very specific with what I wanted. Kathy said she would do what we wanted for $60.00 each. While Kathy was doing my nails she was talking on her phone the whole time. I asked her if she would like to stop working on my nails until she was done in the phone and she said no and continued with my nails. I asked her to square my nails and just round the corners a tiny bit. She did not listen to me and rounded all my nails. I left there with big chunks of acrylic under my nails and acrylic all around each finger that I had to pick off. I believe it was due to her being distracted while she was so rudely on her phone the whole time and wasn't paying attention to what she was doing. While I was there I noticed that they put another client that was getting a pedicure in a dirty chair and foot bath that had not been cleaned after their last client. She also used a dirty towel for my nails. She just flipped the towel over and used it for me. She was very unprofessional to say the least. Back to the over charge. I called her about it and she told me to get a paper from my bank. When I told her that she had proof of the charge by me giving her the last 4 digits of the card my mom used she proceeded to tell me that her computers were down and could not do anything that day. However she told me she could issue a store credit. That was not acceptable because my mom was leaving the state the following day. I told her that I would like for her to issue me cash for the $33.75 that she over charged my mom's card. She said she could not give me cash and I asked her why she said she just couldn't give me cash. I told her she has a drawer full of cash and I needed her to give me the cash since she had already gotten the money. She then proceeded to tell me she could Zelle me the $33.75 when the computers started working again I insisted on her giving me back the cash and after I hit a little bit loud she finally gave in and gave me the cash back. After seeing how unprofessional, and the uncleanliness of the establishment and the use of things that were not properly cleaned after each client, I will NEVER return to her place of business. She is a greedy business owner a very unprofessional business owner and a very rude business owner. With this being said, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANYONE. The pedicure included a herbal bootie - they did not have nor did they even care or were going to tell me they were out. I have been going to Lavish Nails for almost a year now but won't be returning back.I was very excited to get my nails done right before my trip and asked for dipping nails with extensions and coffin shape. They nail technician kept trying to convince me to get square shape nails. When I insisted she made a nasty comment in her native language and called another person who completely ruined the shape. When I asked them to fix the shape they asked me to leave with half my nails done. Until my nails were done they kept talking in their native language pointing towards me which made me very uncomfortable. I was excited for a second visit and asked for the same pedicure with warm rock massage. Another technician did the pedicure, though. Since it was a holiday weekend, I spent a lot of time waiting with my feet in cold water as the technician ran back and forth between customers. The technician also had long, pointed nails perfect for stabbing in between my toes. This makes me nervous, along with rough handling, since I am prone to skin tears and a bit of a hypochondriac. The technician was quick to half paint my toenails and say she was done. I had to tell her to finish painting the whole toenails, and they did not look like a French manicure! I was glad to leave. Nice little salon that has obviously made pedicures their main focus. There is a fair number of chairs lining both walls and only 4 spots I think, for manicures. I'm not a fan of places that do fills right next to people who are getting regular manicures, due to the chemical smell and use of that electric filer. They did not give me a wait time, just sat me at an empty seat. After about 8 min someone brought over a soaking bowl for my nails and 5 minutes later someone came to start my nails. I'd been worried it was going to be a long process but I made it out in about 45 minutes and my nails turned out pretty good, especially considering I decided not to hem and haw over my color choice and just called out a random number from the number shellac bottles on the wall in front of me. The place is nice when you walk in, so you would think you're going to get quality service as well. I tried this place twice within two weeks. I got an acrylic fill with gel polish and a pedicure both times. My fill was done sloppily, and I was left with built up acrylic that was not properly cleaned off or filed away (I instructed her many times but got frustrated with her not honoring my requests), or not enough acrylic in some spots. Within 24 hours, my polish became discolored and nails began to crack. Within a few days, my toe nail polish began to chip and flake away. Holding out as long as I could, I had to have another fill and pedicure less than two weeks later. I wanted to give them another chance as online and personal reviews were the complete opposite of my experience. My pedicure did go well, but my fill did not. My nails were done so thick, and the gel polish made it look worse. Again within 24 hours I had another issue, my nail polish was peeling away. This was due to him filing so much after my polished has me set. They fixed it free of charge the next day with no problem. Now, even a week later, my nails look horrible have started bubbling and chipping again. They are not cheap, so if you're willing to take a chance, don't say I didn't warn you. Just be ready to have your nails done sooner than expected. *Please note I have been getting my nails done regularly for over seven years, so this was no amateur experience on my part* read more

Made a mistake coming back to this nail salon. I was desperate and had little time to spare, so I came here. I had declared a few months ago I would not return after a worker tied to sit me in a dirty pedicure chair (because, it was super busy and she was too lazy to clean it between customers) and the person who did my dip powder manicure used the wrong top coat and my nails were left looking dull (matte) not shiny. Today's visit...very disappointing again. The pedicure was basic, but $5 more and they'll use a sugar scrub...ok It didn't seem any different...but great paint job. They charge $3 extra dollars to match your dip nail powder to your pedicure nail color...hmmm? no thank you. I thought that was a basic service. On to the nails. The nail tech (Tom) was very rude and rough and unprofessional. He threw my shoes to the side because they were in his way (which were placed there by another employee). Who does that to a paying customer? He kept hitting my cuticles and the edges of my nails with the drill, and didn't even apologize. My cuticles are actually sore now. He kept answering text and a call while doing my nails. I notice that I have three different nail shapes-some are round, a few are square and then there's the square round. Then when they have other people waiting, you get pushed aside and left in front of a cold fan until they get to a point where they can stop to check. I noticed "Tom" didn't change the towel after I was sent to sit at the fan to dry my nails (So, I guess I used a dirty towel as well, with someone else's finger skin and dirty nail dust). I had other engagements, so I decided to check my own nails, take the pedicure shoes and protectors off and went to cash out. I had nothing else to say to him and did not tip him. Setting up an appointment over the phone was super easy, and I loved how nice all the staff were! The tech I was working with, Ha, removed my acrylics with an e-file and acetone bath, taking her time to make sure that each step was done properly. At other salons, they usually try and tear the acrylic off of my natural nail, so I was very pleased that she used this method! During the process, she even educated me on why she was doing the things she did and how it's better for nail health to remove acrylics this way. Yesterday, Friday, after a long work week of staring at my "desperately-needing-work-gel manicure" I read the reviews for lavish nails, made a quick call, and secured myself an appointment for a gel manicure and regular pedicure just five minutes later, despite this busy time slot. The salon it's self was attractive, modern and clean. After just a couple of minutes, I was ushered to one of the best auto-massage chairs I have experienced in a nail salon, and received excellent service by a pedicurist, and then the manicurist, Rannie. Both worked together for a while, until it got just a bit too busy to have two of them working with me simultaneously. Despite the busy time, I never felt rushed, as Rannie helped me match my finger and toe nail colors, and put many coats of gel on my well manicured nails. I had the basic pedicure treatment and gel manicure, but felt that both were very thorough. Always great to find a new option in the Kirkland/Bothell area. I'll be back for sure! I chose luxury pedicure which costed 55$ and she barely did it for 25min. She didn't understand English and when I asked her the same she spoke something into herself which I didn't understand. Later someone noticed I had a problem and came by. When I asked her what is the time for luxury pedicure she said it's 45-50min. I told her this happened to me and when she spoke to the lady doing massage she replied that as I was in hurry she did it sooner . I never said I was in hurry or to rush it. This spa is just looting money and doesn't do the bare minimum for the price they charge. I will never go back. read more

I came here via a recommendation from a friend- and I needed ombré nails for a wedding. I'm posting this because reviews I've seen lean to both sides of the spectrum- my experience was somewhere in the middle, so hopefully it's helpful! Let be begin by saying for acrylics alone, I would give 10 stars. They were done very well, are incredibly thin, and shaped well for my hands. Unfortunately, I asked for dipped ombré, and spent nearly two hours and $70 at this salon to get acrylics I didn't want or need, and a subpar shellac paint-job that definitely looks ombré-esque, but really rendered the acrylic job unnecessary. So- if you're coming here I strongly recommend knowing what you want, and having backbone! Let's start with the infamous acrylics. As I mentioned, I had no desire to get a layer of acrylics on my nails- I simply wanted dip because 1, this was the only way I have personally had/ heard of ombré nails being created and 2, dip is a healthier alternative and lasts longer than paint! I am still unclear as to whether or not this salon actually *does* dip (there were posters advertising it, so maybe they do)- unfortunately for me, my manicurist insisted that dip was not the way to go. I asked three times for dip / as well as for an explanation, but didn't really get one. Clearly, today was not my day for backbone because he got to work with the acrylics. After some back and forth, I finally agreed- I thought, "why not- maybe this is the way to a gorgeous ombré look!!" Thinking that the acrylic colours would be placed- not dissimilar to how dip is set up. Unfortunately, I was surprised to find out the manicurist straight up just put an additional layer of "protection" on my nails, no extensions, all the while boasting about how much better their salon is, how poor of a job was done on my nails previously (I mean, okay, sure- he did a nice job with the actual acrylics, but was it enough to render so much bragging and talking smack about neighboring salons? Probably not. And I thought my nails looked nice, but he didn't think so). After I got my acrylics I got to sit for another thirty minutes waiting for my turn to get my subpar shellac. At this point I had been at the salon for an hour and a half- about 45 minutes of that being time that the manicurist actually worked on my hands. Now, I don't mind terribly that they used shellac- the gal was nice and it was a unique approach (she used a sponge). I'm just not sure why I needed the acrylic layer and unfortunately, the technique used for the ombré left bubbles of paint on my nails. I guess the plus side is that it lasted, and looked nice. I just wish it was what I asked for, or even done without the acrylics- at least that would have saved me time and $. Moral of the story: do your research before you try something new, and have a lot of backbone if you're coming here. Both are valid, just didn't expect I would ever need to have prepared for a salon visit with cited sources to get what I actually wanted. I went back and forth on whether or not to give 3 or 4 stars due to the experience, price and the above- so there's that. If I ever get extensions and absolutely need a full set- I'll be back, but other that that- I'll stick to my usual spot. read more

I hate to do this, because I've been coming here for the past 3 years... but recently, I've been having some really bad experiences here. These are the issues I've had recently: 1) I ALWAYS call and make an appointment specifically so I don't have to wait (I'm impatient... self awareness is key). The past 4 appointments, I've waited 30 minutes or more past my appointment window (plus I always get there 5-10 minutes early, so the total wait time is upwards of 40 minutes). As I am typing this review, it is 4:47. My appointment was at 4 and I'm considering if I should just get up and leave. They seated me at a chair when I got here 50 minutes ago, but I'm suspicious they only did that to prevent me from leaving. If 4:00pm didn't work, they should have just told me when I called in so I didn't waste an entire hour out of my day sitting here waiting with cold water on my feet (it got cold like 15 minutes ago). I can think of approximately 1 mil+ better things I could be doing with this time. TLDR: having an appointment makes no difference. Be prepared to wait 30 mins - 1 hr regardless. 2) I think because this place is so popular, they brought in some new people. Last time I had one of the new people... I got shellac, and two of my nails chipped that very same week. Can you even believe that? I was shook! I've never had that problem with shellac... I came back that week to have them fixed*... they did the repair for free, so that was good... and also, the woman who did the repair inspected my nails and ended up adding 2 more coats to all the nails... once she added the extra coats, I had no more issues (and the nails stayed on FOREVER!). So depending on who you get, you might have the most high quality and durable shellac ever! Either that, or you'll have the worst that only lasts 3 days. It's like Russian roulette... depends on your willingness to gamble! *i called in to ask how long the repair would take. I was told 5 mins. And I said "okay is it really 5 minutes though because I'm in a hurry and I hardly even have 5 minutes of time" and she said "yeah very quick 5 mins only". Okay, so I stopped in.... they sat me at a table right away and of course I was waiting for 10 minutes and finally asked the employee helping the girl next to me if someone was going to help me soon, because I really have to go.
