Vietnamese Omelet

This is by far the best Pho on Long Island I have had. They also have lunch or dinner specials combos. We also got for their dinner specials 1 appetizer, 1 entrée, 1 dessert for $39. Usually, for pre-set dinners, the dishes are smaller but not here. Their fruit smoothie is pretty unique, especially for their pineapple smoothie that comes in a pineapple. The couple of times we came here, we ended up ordering their dinner specials. - Sweet chili ribs 3pcs - Sugar cane Pork - Sizzling Basil Beef with rice - Grilled pork chops 2 pcs - Chicken Pineapple fried rice - Pho - Sweet chili seabass - Vietnamese Omelet - Tiramisu - Mango Sobet - Chocolate lava - Coconut Pudding They also have a gluten-free

After seeing rave reviews and getting coupons in the mail I was really excited to try this place, but after coming for dinner last week I left with mixed feelings, more bad than good. First, as advertised their prices are very good. They have a set of daily specials, and a very generous student discount (with ID) for the stony Brook students in the area. Additionally the menu is very large, and they seem to have all of the classic Vietnamese dishes plus some different/fusion items. However, there seems to be a cleanliness issue that was apparent right as we sat down. The place settings have plastic placemats with glasses sitting upside down on top. When the server flipped our glasses and filled them with water, I raised one to my mouth and immediately noticed a really disgusting smell... (like feet or a ball pit??) that pretty much turned my stomach. We discovered it was coming from the placemats, that clearly aren't washed or replaced after people spill fish sauce and pho broth on them. We ordered some drinks to start: a Vietnamese iced coffee and a Thai iced tea. The latter was nice, very aromatic and flavorful, and not too sweet. The coffee didn't come close to how good a Viet iced coffee should be. It had a strange aftertaste, and weird flakes of solidified/curdled milk floating on top. The food was decent, but nothing really stood out for us. I got the pork and pork spring roll Bun dish, and was disappointed to find that the bean sprouts were not fresh; the tips were brown and they tasted old. There was also only one spring roll which was cold in the middle, but the sliced grilled pork tasted good, so at least there was that. Also the fish sauce with spicy peppers, garlic, and onions was off to the side in a bottle, not served on top. Overall due to the really gross smell, problems with drinks, and food that didn't stand out I don't think we'll be returning.

We've only ordered take out from here. Satisfies our banh mi cravings. We've had the tofu, pork and steak banh mi. All three are great and you can get it with (for some kick) or without jalapeño. The pork or veggie spring rolls are pretty tasty too.

So so good! Such a great little spot, staff is super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! I loved the vegetable pho. And I really enjoyed their little sauce caddy and how you can add your own fish sauce. Rice noodles were on point! Some other places around use the round ones and imho they gotta be flat ones haha. Will absolutely be back!

We were looking for soup, and decided on Pho. We usually go to Saigon Casa in Port Jeff, but we were coming from some massage therapy in Melville and we wanted it sooner than later. A quick google search led to Lâu, whose location seemed familiar. I had been to Soul Brew next door, but never to the Hibachi place that used to occupy this space. Nevertheless, it was pho that we were after, and this was the closest and highest-rated. There's lots of parking, and it was quite spacious and clean inside. There's a full bar and table seating, as well as booths along the wall. We saw a sign upon entering that mentioned membership, and I wanted to know what that was about. We were greeted right away, and were given our choice of seating. We chose a comfy booth. I noticed right away that there were 2 prices on the menu, a regular price and a VIP price. It was explained to me later that the VIP price reflected a discount if you paid with their reloadable gift card which gave you a bonus right off the bat. After the summer roll appetizers, I knew we would be coming back so I sprang for membership and the discount would be available to use right away. The summer rolls were pretty big, and they were served with a very nice peanut sauce. Pineapple shrimp fried rice needs no explanation except that this shrimp needs an honorable mention. This wasn't just shrimp that was thrown in the rice, this was cooked and seasoned separately and served on top. It was fantastic. A little side note, the summer rolls and fried rice had slivers of mango. Yum. Now the pho. I love the pho at Saigon Casa. I think it's perfect as-is. Lâu's beef bone broth isn't as flavor-packed from the get-go, but is easily elevated with the hoisin, chili sauce, sriracha, and fish sauce provided. The noodles are as great, the provided sprouts, jalapeños, and basil were fresh and fragrant, as you would expect. I had the pho with beef eye round and beef tendon, and it was loaded with big pieces of it. More than at any other pho restaurant I've been to, and I enjoyed every bit of it. My girlfriend had the pho with marinated ribeye steak that came on the side. I would come back just to have that steak as a meal (good thing I got the membership card). We took home a pandan and coconut drink for the road, I think some coconut rum would make it amazing

Came here for lunch. The restaurant was clean and had nice decor. The staff was friendly. The food was good. Decent portion size for the price. The pho broth was okay. A little on the lighter side. The spring rolls were good. I got the pork banh mi. The mince pork was very salty. The bread was nicely toasted but i wish the mince pork pieces were less salty. The pork chop was perfectly grilled. Overall we had a good meal and would go back

Came here today because we were looking for a new viet/ pho restaurant. The place is really pretty and service was super friendly. Everything was delicious and presentation was beautiful! I Recomend coming here

5/5 for the experience, flavors, price and service. I came in for lunch and ordered the lunch special. It came with a drink, appetizer, and entree all for $15! The pho tasted exactly how my close friend's Vietnamese grandmother always made it for me. The flavors, quality of the ingredients and broth were all perfect. I ordered the pho with brisket, and WOW was the brisket cooked perfectly with an outstanding taste. I will be back with friends and family for sure!

Overpriced food. The beef pho came with literally 4 slices of beef for $17/bowl. I ordered the xe lua which is a large pho bowl with everything but hardly anything in it as well for $19/bowl My kid ordered a vegetable noodle dish that came out looking like a pad Thai and nothing of Vietnamese flavors. The chicken wings were not marinated in the inside. It was coated with heavy sauce. Overall terrible place for the price Inexperienced wait staff also. Random folks came to us

Papaya salad

I have tried this restaurant for lunch abs it was great! Love their lunch specials. For $15 you can get 1 appetizer and one main course. All food was amazing. I came back again for dinner and order a beef pho noodle. It was big bowl dish and my sister and I were totally satisfied. The pho was very flavorful and the papaya salad was just delicious. Amount was superb and taste was delicious. Waiter was very courteous and he tried helping us charge my sister phone which went dead. Will definite recommend friends and family to try this place.

Really enjoyed this place. Super cute decor, ample parking, food was delicious! We came for restaurant week and it was 3 courses for $39. To start I had ribs, they were sooooo soooo good. My friend had some sugar cane pork which was like a chopped meat around a sugar cane- also delicious. For an entree I had the pork chop which was really fantastic and my friend had the steak stir fry. She liked it, I don't like well done steak so that's a pass for me. Service was super nice but sooooo slow. Took 20-30 mins just to order our food which was a bit annoying on a week night. I had a coco melon drink that was fantastic. My friend had a couple of drinks she also enjoyed. For dessert I had the pistachio cake, I'd skip that. Tasted like it was frozen and then defrosted, wasn't for me. My friend had the same cause it was the only dessert available that night. Overall I def want to come back and next time will try the pho!!!

Pineapple Chicken rice

Delicious pho with eye round and chicken fried rice served in half a pineapple. The spring rolls and chicken dumplings were tasty too. Very nice presentation. Service with a smile was great. The place is clean and nicely decorated.

My last visit (Friday afternoon) I ordered a Medium Wintermelon Milk Tea (you can get it without the milk), Grilled Chicken Garlic Noodles and a Grilled Shrimp Rice Bowl. Everything was delicious and very flavorful though I felt the Garlic Noodles were a bit on the saltier side and the Wintermelon Milk Tea was a bit too sweet (and I have a sweet tooth). There were a lot of flavorful chicken pieces and the shrimp came with about 7-8 pieces, also very flavorful. They have 3 different sauces that I was given since I was eating there and just returned it to the counter once done. My favorite of the 3 was the more liquidy one though they all tasted great. The place is located in a strip mall with a lot of free parking. There's some seating inside and one small table outside. It's spacious and clean. They have great background music playing and their unisex bathroom is spacious and clean as well. The food came out in a reasonable time and the staff (I'm assuming maybe the owners) were also very pleasant.

It's a quiet restaurant (but I was there right after they opened) and I appreciated that. The restroom is quiet and there's a shared parking lot in the front with other establishments. So I ordered the shrimp summer roll and a D1 combo (pho with beef combination) and I was surprised by the portion size of the pho. I didn't expect it to be served in such a large bowl and I went back to my shift feeling stuffed! The broth was so flavorful that I didn't need to add any hoisin or sriracha (which is a first for me!). The spring rolls were fresh and quite refreshing. To be honest with you, I could see the kitchen staff preparing my meal from where I was sitting and I was satisfied with how they prepared my meal! I have a few more weeks left in Smithtown rotation so I will definitely be coming back on my lunch break. However, if you're going in when they open for business, be prepared to wait a bit for your meal. I waited about 20 minutes and honestly, I didn't mind at all. It meant that my bowl of pho will be served with love and care!

The staff is warm, welcoming, and always happy to answer questions or help with recommendations. The restaurant itself is clean and cozy, making it great for a sit-down meal, but the takeout is just as good--fast, well-packed, and always hot when I get it home. He also pushed me to pay with credit card even though I wanted to pay cash. Getting to the food - I got bun bo hue, pho, and egg rolls - I am Vietnamese and I've gotten takeout from places countless times. You are ALWAYS supposed to separate the bean sprouts and mint and lime from the dish. Those are supposed to be optional for the customer. THIS PLACE COMBINED THE NOODLES WITH THE BEAN SPROUTS AND LIME!!! You are not supposed to do that! You are always supposed to package them separately. On top of that, the pho broth lacked a lot of depth of flavor. Also, pho is supposed to come with tripe, eye of round, beef ball, which this pho had none of. Bun bo hue is supposed to be spicy and have pig blood, which this one didn't. It was also not flavorful and was just lacking. The egg rolls also did not taste right and the fish sauce was off. I'm very disappointed with my experience here. This is not an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Long Island.
