This place was honestly amazing and great if you don't eat meat! They have a great option for a tofu vegetarian Pho, other vegetarian options as well. They only serve Pho in beef broth or vegan broth, NO chicken broth. We ordered the tofu Pho (I took out scallions and broccoli of my Pho) and the fire rock fried tofu appetizer with the sauce on the side, and a combination beef Pho. It was delicious!!! I'm excited to go back and it will be my second visit. The waitress was straightforward with our order and quick to check us out when we were finished but not the most welcoming person, but i understand not everyday is a great day. It was clean, fresh, and had everything you needed for dips, utensils, etc for your meal. The interior bar area is really pretty too if you're interested in a refreshing one! Serious health hazard. Repeatedly. Bugs and hair on most food items. Absolutely disgusting. These incidents were all from take outs. About a month ago, there was a bug with wings found in the Bun noodle. Just today, also from a take out order, there was a long piece of dark hair deeply embedded in the shrimp summer roll. I've tried this place a few times over the years in hopes it'd get better and unfortunately it disappoints every time. The flavor isn't bad but I wouldn't call it authentic Vietnamese and the portion sizes are small for the price. I got the pork skewers for the first time and if I had been at the restaurant instead of home I would've sent it back, which I've maybe done twice in my life ever. It was maybe two ketchup packets worth of food for 4 skewers. This place was pretty good in terms of the taste of the food. The only complaint I had was the cost of what you get. I have been to many pho places that charge way less than what they charge for here. Almost $20 for a large bowl is kind of crazy to me since I could get a large bowl like this for way cheaper. I ordered the Rare Steak & Brisket Pho which was pretty good! I definitely recommend that. The other stuff I ordered was pretty good as well but I recommended the rare steak and brisket the most. Used to go here occasionally but recently this place has gone down the hill. Not sure if they changed owners / staff. Give this place 3 tries before I am writing this review. Food is no longer the same, service is terrible. No wonder this place is always empty now. Plastic bits (from packaging) in my noodles. Sandwiches no longer have the sauce stated in menu but never corrected or mention when you order. When we asked, they said yes we don't do it any more. Well, that sauce is what makes key ingredient of a Vietnamese sandwich. Noodles are getting less and less. I ended up paying another $6 for extra noodles. Waiter clearly saw us finish (empty restaurant we were the only ones there) but he ignored my wave and walks right passed me and went to the bathroom for a good 10 minutes. I ended up going up to the cashier to ask for check and pay. Got bag from her to pack my food. More importantly, I clearly started no jalapeño 3 times when I ordered, and they still managed to put that in.. and when I told them, no apology. My wife is very sensitive to spice. Lunch ruined. The replacement sandwich came after I finished my second order of "extra noodles (which was another small portion). No apology, their attitude is makes us feel like we are in the wrong. It was our first time there and this was one of the few places that was open on Christmas day. It is quite a big place inside and has that dim atmosphere. We were seated right away as there weren't much people that day. I got the combination pho large size which comes with a bit of everything. I was dreading it being salty at all but it wasn't. Enjoyed the dish a ton and the noodle to soup ration was spot on. My son got the chicken fried rice and the portion along with taste were there. The Bánh mì, was the most straight forward option and so we had 3 roast pork sandwiches with extra Jalapeños. Service was quick , efficient and the restaurant had a covid access protocol in place. Masks and temperature and the server was very friendly. In about 20 minutes our meals were served and i have ti tell you. I was very surprised that it look good and tasted good too.. lol plenty of grill pork with plenty of jalapeños and cilantro and great pickled veggies. I've been here before, and I'm not sure if covid is the issue, but the prices are absurdly high for tiny portions. The sandwiches are much smaller than they were in the past (check my picture compared to pictures from a few years back). $9 for this size sandwich is just crazy. I stopped here recently for first time on a work trip to Long Island. I love Thai/ viet and cambodian food - so, i like to try a new place when out of town. This place had decent reviews so I gave it a shot - but overall, not terribly impressed. On a weeknight at 7:46 pm not a another person eating here except one who looked like an employee on dinner break who kept coughing to himself the whole time I was there. This place has a bar- no music playing- just silence and this guy coughing - i felt like I was in a sick ward. The server flitted in and out of sight - and other than bringing the tableware, water and taking my order and eventually bringing the food was nowhere to be seen- I had to go looking for him for the bill long after i took my last bite. I got a pork vermicelli bowl - food tasted ok - but for $16 the portion was pretty skimpy with one small fried spring roll cut in half, two measley chunks of cucumber and small amount of other vegetables all in a bowl - I've had same dish at other asian places with twice the size portion! Lastly, I was a bit grossed out by how filthy the glass front entry door was - you could see greasey finger and hand prints all over it - looked like it hadn't been wiped clean in ages! When you first walk in it's a nice sized modern restaurant with dim lighting to set the ambience. You're greeted by a host/server and sat very quickly. I've been a handful of times now and I've never been disappointed. I always get the chicken pho, it doesn't taste super authentic but it's still pretty good. The squid appetizer was nice, I just wish It was a larger portion. My husband gets the bun bo hue every time and never complains . I've never seen this restaurant busy so the food does come out rather quickly which is nice when you have a toddler. Their bubble tea was pretty average, very artificial tasting. {TAKE OUT REVIEW} So, not a day goes by that I don't crave Banh Mi's from Saigon Casa! Located on the incredibly busy 347, this place is located in the strip mall (going East) before Taco Bell. There's a large parking lot with plenty of spaces. I've never dined here before, only ordered takeout. Each and every time I've picked up food, it was always incredibly fresh. While picking up my takeout, the restaurant inside looks extremely clean and well taken care of. In the future, I'd love to eat in house. Over the phone, the service has always been friendly. The food usually takes no more than 20 minutes to be prepared and ready for pickup. The food is absolutely amazing! WARNING, once you eat a Banh mi here, you'll be addicted for life! I've had the beef and pork Banh mis. I like both proteins but my preference are the beef sandwiches. Seasoned so well, plus the veggies and bread are so fresh. I've also had the spring rolls which I enjoy. They have boba tea in a variety of flavors. My favorite is the almond boba tea. Overall, I absolutely love this place. I can't wait to dine in. Went for dinner, the restaurant was empty, the staff was attentive and sat us at a table. We placed our order, including an appetizer, "floating cake" which was tasty. Everything seemed to go well, until saw a bug (brown with thin legs and antennas -? Roach or similar).... Crawling next to me, on the seat!! We mentioned this to our server who moved the table over and stepped on the bug. We mentioned to the server that we didn't want to continue, my experience was pretty much done!!!! He seemed upset and said the bugs are outside and they crawled in to the restaurant! After some back and forth he agreed not to charge us for the food we didn't eat. This has become my new go-to restaurant, and everyone that I've taken here absolutely loved their experience. There's lots of parking, the place is clean, not a lot of staff but they are very efficient and attentive. The food is great. A wide variety of pho is available, and I usually get something with beef tendon. The large serving is not large. It's HUGE. The spring rolls are nice, crispy, and very flavorful. The summer rolls are some of the freshest and best I've had, and we make our own at home. Overall, the place deserves every one of the 5 stars I gave it. I'll keep coming back. read more

Mi casa su casa! Sorry, I couldn't resist. Saigon Casa has been open for over one year now, I had to stop in to make sure the Pho was up to par. I also brought my wife, she's not into a hot bowl a Pho but she will eat, how I spun it was grilled chicken topped with clear noodles. Sold! If you don't know the difference between Chinese and Vietnamese food, Vietnamese food relies on spices and vegetables compared to battered chicken and frying. Vietnamese recipes use lemongrass, ginger, mint, coriander, Saigon cinnamon, lime, and Thai basil leaves. Sounds good right? Those items brighten up the dish, there is no reason to use dairy or frying oils. We ordered spring rolls. Typically, they come out burning hot and you have lettuce to pick up and dip into a fish sauce. No lettuce and they didn't come out burning hot. The beer selection isn't great, its all American labels and only one Asian import? I ordered a Tiger beer, it was pretty good and helped me wash down my spring rolls and pho. My Pho Dac Biet comes to me, The broth was pretty good! The noodles were a little overcooked for me but overall the dish had nice flavor. And my wife loved her dish! Grilled chicken, spring rolls and vegetables made this dish funky and fun. Overall, Saigon Casa fills a nice spot in Port Jefferson. The restaurant is modern and new. This puts traditional salads to shame-- the different flavors, the crunchy texture, and their house special sauce is delicious. Their chef special omelette was something that didn't look appealing, but once you mix the omelette and fillings with basil+lettuce, it is going to blow your mind. I've been here a handful of times, and every time I leave feeling satisfied, full and happy :) Upon walking in, you are greeted and treated with such EXCEPTIONAL hospitality. If you prefer your food a certain way, just ask! There's a huge population to serve and it's very hard to assume how soft you like your noodles, what kind of sauce you prefer to dip with, or certain veggies you don't like, etc. Just be vocal - the restaurant serves people all day long and not everyone is the same so be understanding! I'm not sure if you're confused about the demographic you're serving, but in the Port Jeff/East Setauket/ Stony Brook community, authenticity and FLAVOR are welcomed, encouraged, desired. Please feel free to use spices, sauces, marinades, SOMETHING (though I am glad you do not throw MSG on everything.) Yesterday we revisited and everything was just BLAH. 0 Flavor. A saltine cracker might have had more excitement. There wasn't much going on in my veggie Bún- not much mint, a few sticky unflavored vermicelli noodles, and some chopped iceberg lettuce. Tofu was cooked well. I just wanted something with more flavor and excitement?? The only hope was to attempt CPR on each dish with Siracha and Hosin sauce. What a bummer! read more

There must be either new owners or new chefs because I have no idea what happened to Saigon Casa. What used to be our absolute favorite how now become a huge disappointment. Their multi page menu has now turned into a two sided page, so they cut the menu tremendously and then raised the prices. On top of that, the portions sizes have shrunk in half. To make it even worse, the flavor just is not what it once was. It's so sad to see such an amazing place just completely take a turn. We used to come here all the time and now we probably will never be back. As if that wasn't enough, the service was horrendous. It took 3 different waiters to ask us how many people were in our party before they actual sat us. Luckily we were able to place our order quick, but we asked for the bill 3 times and got so fed up and we walked up to the register to pay. I feel bad because of the layout of the shopping center that this restaurant doesn't get the acclaim it rightfully deserves. Pho is new to this area, I've been a pho-natic for many years. I'm also a fan of Bahn Mi's which is a Vietnamese blend of the French baguette sandwiches and Viet cuisine. On a cold, rainy day nothing beats a beef pho with a Bahn mi for dunking. Portions are big, here as is traditional for Vietnamese restaurants, similar to Italian family style portions. Cost ranges from $15-25 per person. The staff are not pushy so it's a great spot if you want to focus on the conversation with little interruptions. The layout is really large, so you're not listening to other conversations either. I've been coming here since they've opened, about 4 years? And have always had a pleasant experience. My one warning is that pho does not transport well. No fault of the restaurant, they do their best of separating the ingredients. It's just a better eat-in experience, especially if it's your first time trying Pho. read more

Each time has been better than the last. They've got it all covered. The summer rolls. The BUN, the pho and even the pork chops. The service is getting better and they seem a little understaffed at times. I worry when the traffic picks up but I'm sure they'll manage. No liquor license yet. Let us drink our own beers but asked we keep it discrete. On with the menu ! Appetizers. No viet meal is complete with summer and spring rolls. Summer rolls = rice paper wrapping cilantro and meat of your choice. I like pork. Spring rolls are fried and crispy. Both are up to par Mains Pho is solid. Broth is an A. Meat quality is excellent. They also sell bubble tea and basic traditional Vietnamese dishes.
