    Pho tai
    Bob P.

Stopped by this place that was close to my dad's house when visiting CT this winter. I like the fact they open at 10am so I can have my breakfast pho! I was the only one in there and ordered a bowl of pho tai. The portion was generous for the price, but the broth was a little bland, but aromatic. The meat was tender and the noodles cooked well. I would give this a 3.5 for the pho tai.

I didn't realize that this place had opened up in the old "Hunan Pavillon" spot. But after eating there last night, I wish I did ! The place is very low key, and a bit bare bones, but don't let that be the deciding factor. The server was very nice, and did not disappear once she dropped the menus, and got our drinks. The Vietnamese Coffee was excellent; strong but not bitter, and not too sweet. The Cha Gio (Pork & Veggie Fried Spring Roll) was tasty. Perfectly fried and not at all greasy. For my main I had Com Bo Luc Lac. (Spicy Beef Cube w/Rice). The beef was tender and not over spiced, while the rice was cooked perfectly. The portions are perfect. So there was room for dessert. Next time....

It's one of my favorite go to places for pho. The broth is fragrant and flavorful, a nice balance of meat and noodles. Great for a rainy day or just when you're craving some pho. I also got the shrimp and pork summer rolls. Yum!! They have other rice and noodle dishes too.

Overall pretty good pho but my family said it was a bit salty. So they would recommend to cut back on the salt but I thought it was fine. The large bowl was really big, a great big size. Was not expecting that. It was awesome. Pho was pretty flavorful, lots of beef slices, appreciate all of the bean sprouts, basil and other leaves and sauces. The service was excellent, the staff is so friendly and attentive. It's nice to see there are people in Connecticut who like Vietnamese food. I was really surprised. It made me so happy to see people experiencing Vietnamese cuisine. Pretty good Vietnamese food for Connecticut tbh. Our family friends have also been here and said good things about the place which is why we came here to eat.

Amazing and genuine pho! This is a great spot. Prices are reasonable and always delicious!

Got the pho dac biet and the summer rolls. Wanted more shrimp in the summer roll. The pho was good, up to standard, nothing crazy. Had to request and pay extra for tendon. This is a classic no frills pho spot. Wanted more out of the broth and the amount of meats in the dac biet.

4 stars for the pho and ingredients, the broth could be better... Don't recommend the fried egg rolls... literally i cannot taste any poke or shrimp excellent glass noodles. Tried it twice. Not good. Vietnamese coffee was ok, not strong taste good, kinda taste like the instant vietnamese coffee

Pho Nha Trang I tried in a whim while running errands in the area. Was craving pho and this was a random stop. Suddenly I'm so hooked that this is the spot I chose to go eat the day before my wedding day. First, let's talk about the iced Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. It transported me back to perfectly roasted coffee in Vietnam (and it was very very strong too). So delicious. Next, the Gỏi Cuốn Tôm Thịt (Shrimp and Pork Summer Roll) was perfectly rolled. Another customer got talking to me as they saw me take pictures and said "you know it's the real summer roll when it's pork AND shrimp!" She was very right and when I took some home for my husband, he agreed immediately. Entree wise, of course you can never go wrong with pho. I really liked their Bún Thịt Nướng (Grilled Pork on Vermicelli Noodle). The first time I tried it with the shrimp extra but felt it was too garlicky. But it was perfect for me to add Chả Giò (pork and veggie fried spring roll) to the mix. My sister also really liked ordering the Cơm Sườn Trứng (Grilled Pork Chop and Fried Egg) because of the runny egg yolk and plenty of protein in the meal. The entrees are plenty and very large portion. While it's a trek, I think it's worth driving to from Hartford. Staff being friendly is also a bonus! While it looks like a normal Vietnamese food spot, I've come back enough to know it's more than normal, it's absolutely great!

One of the little neighbourhood faves that never fails to satisfy. Good food and great prices, can't go wrong with that in Fairfield! We keep on coming back for more!

People go here for the excellent food, not the ambience. The pho is served quickly and it's top notch.

We moved on to tonkatsu ramen which was hearty and flavorful with delicious pork slices. Chicken wonton noodle soup was a big hit with the kids, as was the chicken pho. The pho broth was mildly flavored, so if you prefer a heartier spiced version, this wasn't it. Lastly, the lemongrass steak cubes, nicely marinated with sautéed sweet rainbow peppers and onions. Oh, and $4 bottles of Sapporo. Can't beat that.

The atmosphere was pleasant, the interior is clean, nicely decorated with lanterns and cozy touches, and it feels much more spacious than a lot of Vietnamese spots. He ordered the ramen, octopus balls, and a Thai bubble tea, while I got the chicken pho, pork gyoza, and a lychee bubble tea. The gyoza had a nice crisp to it, but the chicken pho broth felt lacking in flavor, and the lychee boba tea was disappointing, it tasted way too milky, almost like just milk. When we finished eating, service was also a bit slow when it came to clearing plates and taking payment. Overall, the food just wasn't as flavorful as other pho places we like, so I personally wouldn't come back.

The server recommended Curry Crispy Chicken Noodles, but she warned I might think they're spicy. I loved these noodles. The curry broth was flavorful, but not too spicy. The noodles had great texture. The crispy chicken was very satisfying. The potatoes and carrots were well executed. The punches of cilantro were very fresh. It was a great bowl of noodles. From the start, our first round of drinks was delivered to the table next to us, and those guests actually drank from them before the waitress realized the mistake. Despite being told the drinks had already been sipped, she still tried to give them to us, and we had to firmly refuse before new drinks were made. Things didn't improve after that. My second drink, a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, arrived in a wine glass that clearly had someone else's lipstick on it, so I had to send that back as well. We also ordered edamame for the table, which was completely forgotten--we had to re-order it 45 minutes later before it finally arrived. My tofu and sushi were also underwhelming to say the least. What made the experience worse was the lack of apology or urgency from the staff, especially since the restaurant wasn't even busy. Overall, the poor customer service and repeated hygiene and attentiveness issues made this a very frustrating happy hour experience.

Their menu choices probably need to be expanded to attract high school students (and others) who might otherwise go out of their way for bánh mì sandwiches or creative Thai cooking rather than their meager main course choice of soup, a pork chop or a chicken leg. I had the beef pho and ordered the chicken wings and egg rolls to go - which were a replacement for the spring rolls which I'd gone there to try, but were not available. The blonde wood tables and freshly painted walls created a clean environment, supplemented with a shining new stainless steel kitchen. There's a traffic light to help your exit onto busy Boston Ave., and it has its own parking lot. Service was prompt and polite. The waiter and chef weren't wearing masks. I should have left at that point. The pho was sub par; the beef was very chewy, the broth lacking that sweet/hot ginger beef bone punch. The mandatory accompaniment of cilantro, bean sprouts and mint or Thai basil was MIA. Hubs declared the chicken wings to be very tough, and the egg rolls looked and tasted like the generic-probably-purchased-frozen-in-bulk type.
