This is the selection of the lunch specials in a few pieces of Toro sashimi

i'm just giving a shout out to this place being half Japanese and a fisherman the quality of fish and my Sushi is utmost important. Obviously you have to take him into context. This is suburban, Connecticut and Not New York City at an Omakasa sushi bar. However, that said this is definitely the best quality fish served a sushi in Trumbull by a significant margin. I've been there many times and the quality of fish is always the best in the area. Staffis friendly and helpful.

The food is great here. Waitress are friendly and attentive. I came around 4 so I can't be sure about the busy hours but so far it has been great.

I order from Mici as least once a month and it's always fresh, tasty, and exactly what I ordered. They are friendly on the phone and in person when you eat there. Cozy setting and good pricing for what you get. I love to order in after a long day and it always hits the spot.

So we're tired of Italian...and it's pouring out! Ok time for a change, how about Chinese!!?? But where??? So our trusty Yelp indicates there's a place in Trumbull, 18 minutes away! Quick run to the car. We arrive and are asked if we made a reservation? Yes So we're escorted to a great table in the corner Linda, a vivacious chinese woman, recommends the cosmopolitan for my guest. Gee we want a nice glass of wine, Joseph Carr. Oh but wait they don't sell by the glass because it's expensive and need to open a bottle. Ok so let's get a bottle! It comes and Linda has an automatic bottle opener, which is so cool. $40 on Amazon!! it's soooo smooth. So now for food we crave a spring roll, egg roll and wonton soup. They come and they're just amazing!! Fresh delicious food. For main my guest gets chicken, in light sauce with snap peas I opt for the sesame chicken. Both dinners are just fresh and perfectly prepared. The chicken for both dishes is white meat and soft. The food, wine and drinks all rate 5Stars. We'll definitely put this place on our go too list!!

Got the lunch special, to be honest I was quite disappointed. The amount of sauce made it all soggy and it wasn't pleasant to eat. Will not be returning. The rice was drenched in the sauce and also the wonton soup tasted like burnt plastic.

Recently went back. SERVICE - was exceptional RICE QUALITY - this was my reason for dropping 1 star. It was clear to me that they used day old rice that was refrigerated. A big NO for me

Very clean sushi restaurant in a small shopping plaza with ample parking. Staff is super nice and very engaging. We took a group here for a small bday party and the staff was great. They served us quickly and had very nice quality sushi was very fresh and the hot green tea was superb. We had kiddos and adults and the atmosphere worked for both. Pricing was good and portions were quality. We will be back.

Chicken and beef, Hunan style. Lunch special with pork fried rice $10
    Camy C.

I tried their lunch special - chicken and beef in Hunan sauce $10, and right now, it's only good for take out. I ordered online and asked for extra spicy and paid in person. The pick up window is a literally a window. The lady in the restaurant came over, asked for name and came back with my order. I handed her my credit card and after processing it at the cash register, had me sign the merchant copy. I was in and out in 2 minutes (if that). Although more expensive than other Chinese take out restaurants, the food was of much higher quality than the cheapo places. The vegetable mix they had provided included sugar snap peas, large mushroom chunks, shallots, squash, carrots, bamboo, napa cabbage, and asparagus. The sauce while not super authentic did utilize dried chilis which is typical in Szechuan dishes. And I was pleasantly surprised that they actually did make it 'extra spicy' as I had requested! It was so spicy I actually had to stop mid meal and get some water. But it was exactly what I wanted. There was also a good number of chicken and beef slices. As part of the lunch special, you get a choice between white rice or pork fried rice and a soup. I got pork fried rice and the hot and sour soup. The meal was a good portion and I was stuffed after eating the rice so saving the soup as an appetizer for another meal. Next time, I crave some take out chinese food, I'll come back again.

Orange and lime pad Thai with maybe glass noodle???

I never wrote reviews, but the disappointment and frustration I have with them, this review is needed. We usually go here often and food is always amazing. This past Friday 2/24 the food was terrible to the point one of our family member was sick the whole day following his sushi. We bought food for 8 people with out of town guests, one of who was the one that got sick. The pad Thai was orange and lime with no peanut sauce or real noodle (image attached) The amazing chicken didn't look like it normally does and was beyond spicy and inedible. We paid $125 for the food and the owners gave us $20 gift card instead of crediting us. Never going to use that and risk getting sick again! They were defensive and rude when we brought the food back. That's right for that amount of money we wanted them to see what we were talking about. We had to turnaround and then buy pizza that night. So disappointing as it's so hard to find good Chinese around here. I think they were too busy, the parking lot was packed and they had about 15 take out orders waiting, I think they were rushing and are too prideful to take ownership.

When I found out that China Wok was now called New China Wok, I decided to get a meal here for old time's sake. There isn't much to look at inside; there's a few tables, but it's still mainly a hole in the wall takeout spot. The front desk person was kind and diligent and I got my meal quickly. The food was mostly good, but I was a little disappointed. I decided to get the first meal I ever ordered from this place: the General Tso's Chicken combo, which comes with roast pork fried rice and a roast pork egg roll. A couple of broccoli crowns separate the chicken from the rice. The General Tso's sauce was just as delicious as I remember; very savory and a little spicy. Texture of the chicken and breading were very nice as well. Their roast pork fried rice is a customer favorite and it was still delicious. The flavor from the roast pork permeates all of the rice and pairs perfectly with the chicken. The egg roll was crispy and savory and there wasn't any excess grease. It tastes great by itself, with duck sauce or with the General Tso's sauce. Unfortunately, then I tried the vegetable lo mein. They used to make great lo mein, but the sauce wasn't the same this time. The noodles and vegetables were fine, but the more I ate, the less I liked it. This tasted barely average. Since I wasn't enjoying it much, I decided not to finish it, since it wasn't worth the sodium. After I finished eating, I decided to compare the new menu with a copy of the old menu I still had. Some of their best dishes are no longer available. Where's the Chow Sam Din? Where's the Twice Cooked Pork? Others were missing as well. The two dishes I mentioned were among my favorites. I think they should bring them back if they still have the recipes. I would stay away from the lo mein, but I enjoyed everything else. Still very good food overall, especially for the price, however LC Chen's isn't far away and they are more expensive, but superior.

The egg rolls were good. The boneless spareribs were chewy and probably reheated.. The shrimp and lobster sauce was my highlight. Flavorful, large well cooked shrimp, and generous amount of shrimp. However, the lobster sauce was more of a thin lobster soup. This could be a great dish. Lastly the house special lo mein was a little disappointing. The flavor was good, but the noodles were overcooked and cut into pieces. It was odd to me, but it was as though each Long noodle was cut into thirds. I do think this restaurant has great potential, but overall, I can only rate it a three.

Waiter was friendly and gave us some time to make our selections. I chose the egg roll, tangerine beef. Hubby chose the orange chicken. I asked the waiter if the soda came in a can. He said yes. We then waited for our meal. He returned quickly with my soda, in a glass with lots of ice. Not what I expected. But I guess I wasn't specific about my drink order. My egg roll was good. Cut decoratively in half at an angle, piping hot. Our food arrived shortly. Both plates were generous and came with white rice. Cut a portion in small pieces to taste with rice. Tasted so good, burned my tongue a little it was so hot. Ate a bit more, and that's when my mouth started burning up! The dish was a little more spicy than I expected. Tried to eat more, but it was too much for me. My hubby on the other hand was in his glory. He Loves heat. The spiciest the better. He tried mine and said it was just as spicy as his, which he loved. So, I just thought we would take mine home for him to enjoy later. I have to say it was good, before I had to cry uncle. So would definitely have to return for another try and let them know I can't take the spiciness. I did notice that the restaurant was busy with takeout orders. So I guess that's their main business. So I wouldn't say this was a cozy place. But the food is good. Lots of parking outside since they're next to a supermarket and liquor store. There weren't any 'lunch' specials, so this was over $50 with tip. By the way, lots to choose from the menu. I only took pictures of some pages.
