Oh but wait they don't sell by the glass because it's expensive and need to open a bottle. Ok so let's get a bottle! It comes and Linda has an automatic bottle opener, which is so cool. $40 on Amazon!! it's soooo smooth. So now for food we crave a spring roll, egg roll and wonton soup. They come and they're just amazing!! Fresh delicious food. For main my guest gets chicken, in light sauce with snap peas I opt for the sesame chicken. Both dinners are just fresh and perfectly prepared. The chicken for both dishes is white meat and soft. The food, wine and drinks all rate 5Stars. I tried their lunch special - chicken and beef in Hunan sauce $10, and right now, it's only good for take out. I ordered online and asked for extra spicy and paid in person. The pick up window is a literally a window. The lady in the restaurant came over, asked for name and came back with my order. I handed her my credit card and after processing it at the cash register, had me sign the merchant copy. I was in and out in 2 minutes (if that). Although more expensive than other Chinese take out restaurants, the food was of much higher quality than the cheapo places. The vegetable mix they had provided included sugar snap peas, large mushroom chunks, shallots, squash, carrots, bamboo, napa cabbage, and asparagus. The sauce while not super authentic did utilize dried chilis which is typical in Szechuan dishes. And I was pleasantly surprised that they actually did make it 'extra spicy' as I had requested! It was so spicy I actually had to stop mid meal and get some water. But it was exactly what I wanted. There was also a good number of chicken and beef slices. As part of the lunch special, you get a choice between white rice or pork fried rice and a soup. I got pork fried rice and the hot and sour soup. The meal was a good portion and I was stuffed after eating the rice so saving the soup as an appetizer for another meal. I never wrote reviews, but the disappointment and frustration I have with them, this review is needed. We usually go here often and food is always amazing. This past Friday 2/24 the food was terrible to the point one of our family member was sick the whole day following his sushi. We bought food for 8 people with out of town guests, one of who was the one that got sick. The pad Thai was orange and lime with no peanut sauce or real noodle (image attached) The amazing chicken didn't look like it normally does and was beyond spicy and inedible. We paid $125 for the food and the owners gave us $20 gift card instead of crediting us. Never going to use that and risk getting sick again! They were defensive and rude when we brought the food back. That's right for that amount of money we wanted them to see what we were talking about. We had to turnaround and then buy pizza that night. So disappointing as it's so hard to find good Chinese around here. I think they were too busy, the parking lot was packed and they had about 15 take out orders waiting, I think they were rushing and are too prideful to take ownership. read more

The ambiance isn't the worst including everything else that's going on. However for the price the quality of food is below mid. $2.50 for 1 spring roll is a little ridiculous. I ordered a basic order for a Chinese restaurant and it wasn't even mid in quality. Actually some of the worst chicken I've ordered. The sauce and chicken was not served any where near warm. Half hour drive or not, it's genuinely top notch with the fish truck pulling up every two days boldly showing off those new york plates and graffiti. Order real sushi, or get a good sampler like the sushi and sashimi lunch special. No fusion nonsense, no mayo, just top quality fish cuts in generous portions. There's a full kitchen and most of their business is Chinese food, but their sushi selection is the real secret to their operation. You'll often see people in suits having business lunch here and they almost always get sushi, there's a very good reason for that. read more

I so want to like this place. The young woman at the front was so rude though, i doubt i will come back. no matter how polite I was, I couldn't get the feeling that I was valued. I asked about specials or what comes with the dinners, and she made a point that there were no combo platters here. I felt stupid for asking. Nice sushi bar, seems nice inside the restaurant, but I literally spent double of what I normally pay for takeout, for less food. This is the first time I didn't tip on a takeout order. She was more interested in smiling at her phone than the customers. So disappointed, but, I felt like Chinese cuisine tonight and this is one of the only places open on a Monday. This is a very attractive Chinese-Japanese restaurant in the shops at the corner of Main and Broadway. The place is pretty, the presentation was lovely, the food is okay. Went with mom on Christmas and they were pretty full. There were a few service glitches but I'll write those off to the holiday. We had an egg roll, wonton soup, sesame chicken and roast pork low mein. The apps were disappointing: the egg roll was large but bland, the wontons a little doughy. The chicken was white meat in a not too sweet red sauce (I prefer the hard to find dark meat and brown sauce variety). It was more breading than a dusting of lotus flour but tasty and perfectly cooked. The noodles were just a little too oily to be amazing - they did have lots of 'stuff' and well balanced flavor. Midi has brown rice as well as white, just ask. We did not try any of the Japanese offerings. The Chinese food is somewhere better than takeout but not high end, and there's a bar if you drink. The convenient location, ample parking and attractive decor make it a place I'd go with friends. read more

I've been going here for about a year, always get the sushi as it's always very good, however once they forgot the Wasabi, had to go back, kinda strange that you'd forget Wasabi with sushi... then a few weeks back after ordering 2 rolls and getting literally 2 shards of ginger in the order with two whole tuna avocado rolls, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and just picked up my order, but after I got in the car I checked, and I couldn't believe the paltry amount of ginger they gave me, I parked, went back in, held up my order of 2 rolls and asked if they thought 2 little shavings of ginger (I'm not exaggerating) was appropriate, the owner literally yelled at me right there, then she turned and barked an order in Japanese telling the sushi chef to get more for me, but clearly extremely annoyed at me for asking, then walked away in a huff... rather than what you might expect, telling your customer your sorry for the inconvenience... instead she was outrageous and rude, very loud and insulting. I will NEVER go back to this place. The staff at Ichiro in trumbull center is the exact opposite, and what you might expect of a traditional Japanese sushi restaurant. I've also been practicing / teaching traditional karate for over 30 yrs. and I understand the culture somewhat. The way she treated me was unbelievably rude and would never fly in that culture.
