The food is just eh. Most of it had no flavor . Fried rice was decent. The shrimp with cashew was FILLED with vegetables and a few of the smallest shrimp I've ever seen. The pork lo Mein was tasteless. The woman at the register was extremely unfriendly- and they were NOT busy. I was the only person there and they had one order other than mine waiting for pick up. Never acknowledged the tip and goodbye at all. The kicker was when I found hair in my food (gag). It's in a strip mall so definitely more of a take out place. We have been ordering from Xiang previously and wanted to try a new place. We ordered the same 3 dishes and what stood out was the fact that the seasoning is definitely lighter here and the flavor is not as strong. For my elderly Chinese parents, it's a good thing and they do feel like it's more like home cooking and healthier. For me, I prefer the more seasoned taste of what I associate as American Chinese food. So this was a bit too healthy for me. I did like their Singapore mei fun though. It had a nice kick and curry flavor. The chicken and eggplant was mostly eggplant, but I like eggplant. The kung Pao chicken was packed full with celery and carrots and a really large portion. The way the chicken was prepared was more authentically. Slightly breaded and fried before mixing in with the veggies. Could have used more peanuts though. We will still be coming back to try other dishes but this place is great if you are watching your sodium intake. And the folks are super nice and accommodating. read more

Used to be good....now almost uneatable. The fried wontons have zero meat. Chicken so tough if you even have any chicken in your dish. Just not the same as couple years ago. It's a shame as it used to good. Must have got rid of the good cooks as it's same owner. I get cutting food costs but not at the expense of making the food so bad. You can do better. read more

Ordered take out on a weekend they were super busy. Told us thirty minutes food would be ready I showed up thirty five minutes to pick up abs our food has not even been made yet. This place has been consistent in its food quality for at least 15 years. Nothing stands out as extraordinary on their menu from the many things I've ordered however everything has always been good. Damn, it's been 10 years. The food is still excellent and the prices have not increased very much. In the past several months it appears to be under new ownership. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place. Ok.... I've been eating here 8 years and always takeout, it's not a sit down joint and I have never been disappointed with my order. They are so great with my fiancées gluten allergy and they basically created his own gluten free dish which is made of chicken and vegetables in a white sauce gluten free and spicy and he loves it. My son and I love their chicken in garlic sauce and my other son loves their chicken and broccoli. All of the above are great. My parents visited us and we ordered a bunch of food consisting of the above along with orange chicken and general tso chicken. They were pleasantly surprised at the quality. This place isn't greasy or overly bartered on the chicken and they really give you a good portion of food in general along with a good portion of whatever protein you request. A lot of places will fill the dish with vegetables and throw in a mediocre amount of protein but they do it right. I love that you can order on the "beyond menu" app which is super quick and easy and they fill the order within 15 minutes. Everyone I know says it's the best Chinese in the neighborhood and I have to agree. Yay read more

This is my go to place in the Monroe/Trumbull area for Chinese take-out food. I don't mind driving 20 mins to pick up food from here knowing what I'm getting is fresh, tastes good and doesn't have msg in it. I can watch them prepare the food right in front of me. The cooks have been the same for the last few years. I never get thirsty after eating their food. The prices are very reasonable. read more

quick, tasty and not greasy. The staff was pleasant, the food was very hot and the portions were reasonable. I was a little thirsty afterwards, but i hadn't hydrated well that day. At first, I didnt love the flavor of the General Tso's chicken sauce. But by the third bite I was really liking it and didn't miss the overly sweet and sticky sauce I've previously experienced at other chinese places. I received this flyer in the mail sometime ago and decided it was worth a try after seeing the favorable Yelp reviews. It surpassed my expectations. Fresh ingredients and very clean flavorful tastes. Not greasy or saucy. I ordered 3 large dishes: General Tso's Chicken, Shrimp with Cashew Nuts, and Singapore Chow Mei Fun and they were all excellent--including the leftovers. For the first Chinese restaurant I've tried near Monroe, it went pretty well. We ordered egg rolls, general tso's chicken and pork lo mein and all of them were pretty tasty and generous both in portions and prices. It's odd that they don't have shrimp lo mein as a lunch special, but that's a very minor thing. Will visit often. read more

We have been coming here since it opened. The last couple of times we felt that the quality of food has been slipping. We ordered yesterday and it will be our last time. Put in an order to try them out. The shrimp rolls had actual whole shrimp inside, not pieces. The barbequed ribs were good, not great but good. The hot and spicy shredded beef was excellent as were the shrimp with black bean sauce. Portions were large and there were certainly leftovers. Not the ribs though as they got devoured. I know, but everyone likes ribs. No MSG and apparently low sodium as I wasn't up all night drinking water. They have a very extensive menu and I anticipate return trips. read more

Thank Goodness I finally found this place! Have lived in Trumbull for 16 years and have been desperate to have a yummy Chinese food place... We went for lunch and ordered steamed veggie and pork dumplings, cold sesame noodles and the general tso chicken and garlic broccoli lunch specials. The lunch specials came with fried rice and your choice of soup for $5.95!!!!! Broccoli was snappy and fresh just like I love it! Great local Chinese food. Fried chicken wings are crisp and have a unique flavor that's very good. Great dumplings with a thick chewy wonton. Fried rice was good, pork egg roll was a little too greasy (almost dripping oil) for me, but was still tasty. They give plenty of fortune cookies and portions were large. read more

Went there for first time yesterday. They have like 3 tables inside, but mostly it's a take out place. I like the fact that they have combination dinners with pork fried rice and an egg roll, that they have both shrimp and pork egg rolls (the pork egg roll came with the combo dinner), and they were pleasant to order from and the food was ready for pickup in 15 minutes at dinner time. Like a previous reviewer noted the egg rolls end up being greasy because they do not drain them long enough before bagging, but they are hot. We had fried wontons (tasty but chewy), sweet and sour chicken (didn't taste very fresh), and Gen'l Tso's chicken (very good flavor but mostly dark meat). The fried rice I thought was good not special. Overall I liked it but definitely not as much as I had hoped to, but we did not sample much of the menu. read more

I've order take out from this place many times and it good but not great. There not a lot of choices for really good Chinese food in Monroe. I find the other reviewers are over rating this place. It's good but definitely not the best. I think Chinese Kitchen in Shelton (off of RT. 110) is much better than any of the Chinese take out places in Monroe. read more
