a half eaten sandwich in a box

Ordered Steam vegetable dumplings with the rest of my order. Arrived home noticed it was meat[pork] dumpling. I called the restaurant to notify them of the error. The woman at the restaurant insisted i did not request vegetable and they don't sell it, only meat. What prompted me to write this review is the rudeness and unprofessionalism. No issues with the food, only with customer service. Beware of your ordering from this restaurant.

    Complete and absolute shit.

This food was actually the worst food I have ever had in my life. My dog eats better than this. The dumplings looked like they were dead skin with soggy dog food inside and the dumpling sauce was thick and viscous. At least they have us white rice with the earful chicken. Not! The rice was basically brown and was clumped into a massive chunk. I'm not done. The wonton soup tasted like fish water with chlorine and glue in it. Honestly the worst restaurant I've ever ordered from. Wouldn't recommend... unless you want food poisoning.

Small store front little hole on the wall smelled good.

I liked the Chinese food here It was good just enough to satisfy my craving for it. The take out is good for a cheap fix! I will go back when the mood strikes for is it not the way we choose out meals.

When I found out that China Wok was now called New China Wok, I decided to get a meal here for old time's sake. There isn't much to look at inside; there's a few tables, but it's still mainly a hole in the wall takeout spot. The front desk person was kind and diligent and I got my meal quickly. The food was mostly good, but I was a little disappointed. I decided to get the first meal I ever ordered from this place: the General Tso's Chicken combo, which comes with roast pork fried rice and a roast pork egg roll. A couple of broccoli crowns separate the chicken from the rice. The General Tso's sauce was just as delicious as I remember; very savory and a little spicy. Texture of the chicken and breading were very nice as well. Their roast pork fried rice is a customer favorite and it was still delicious. The flavor from the roast pork permeates all of the rice and pairs perfectly with the chicken. The egg roll was crispy and savory and there wasn't any excess grease. It tastes great by itself, with duck sauce or with the General Tso's sauce. Unfortunately, then I tried the vegetable lo mein. They used to make great lo mein, but the sauce wasn't the same this time. The noodles and vegetables were fine, but the more I ate, the less I liked it. This tasted barely average. Since I wasn't enjoying it much, I decided not to finish it, since it wasn't worth the sodium. After I finished eating, I decided to compare the new menu with a copy of the old menu I still had. Some of their best dishes are no longer available. Where's the Chow Sam Din? Where's the Twice Cooked Pork? Others were missing as well. The two dishes I mentioned were among my favorites. I think they should bring them back if they still have the recipes. I would stay away from the lo mein, but I enjoyed everything else. Still very good food overall, especially for the price, however LC Chen's isn't far away and they are more expensive, but superior.

The egg rolls were good. The boneless spareribs were chewy and probably reheated.. The shrimp and lobster sauce was my highlight. Flavorful, large well cooked shrimp, and generous amount of shrimp. However, the lobster sauce was more of a thin lobster soup. This could be a great dish. Lastly the house special lo mein was a little disappointing. The flavor was good, but the noodles were overcooked and cut into pieces. It was odd to me, but it was as though each Long noodle was cut into thirds. I do think this restaurant has great potential, but overall, I can only rate it a three.

They do a little bit of everything but manage to do it all excellently. Friendly staff and a nice amount of seating for small and big gatherings. Their General Tso's tofu was very well done. Great sauce and quality tofu. There aren't many vegetables, but the generous portion of tofu more than makes up for it. The curry veggie wontons are a must try for Indian food lovers; crispy with expertly spiced curry veggies inside, along with dipping sauce that is a perfect complement. The steamed veggie dumplings are not the generic ones most places give you, they are made in house and very tasty, especially with the fantastic dipping sauce that comes with it. The place never seems that crowded, but they've been there forever because their food is always satisfying. If you're into Asian cuisine, you need to give this place a try.

I dine out often and had not previously felt such a sharp sting in pricing. I had a quart of wonton soup ($5.95) packed in a typical plastic container. I also had a quart of pork fried rice which came in a smaller sized 'to go' container, typical of 'to go' boxes at this restaurant. The rice was $11.95 and when I questioned it, I was told costs have gone up which is not the answer I was expecting! This is just to advise patrons in advance in the event their budget is as tight as that of many in Fairfield County.
