I am Vietnamese and I had a very disappointing experience with this place. First of all, the host/ cashier was rude to me when I tried to talk to him when I first came in. He also pushed me to pay with credit card even though I wanted to pay cash. Getting to the food - I got bun bo hue, pho, and egg rolls - I am Vietnamese and I've gotten takeout from places countless times. You are ALWAYS supposed to separate the bean sprouts and mint and lime from the dish. Those are supposed to be optional for the customer. THIS PLACE COMBINED THE NOODLES WITH THE BEAN SPROUTS AND LIME!!! You are not supposed to do that! You are always supposed to package them separately. On top of that, the pho broth lacked a lot of depth of flavor. Also, pho is supposed to come with tripe, eye of round, beef ball, which this pho had none of. Bun bo hue is supposed to be spicy and have pig blood, which this one didn't. It was also not flavorful and was just lacking. The egg rolls also did not taste right and the fish sauce was off. I'm very disappointed with my experience here. This is not an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Long Island. read more

My wife told me about this place she liked by her nail salon. She'd stop in for a Vietnamese coffee and a Spring Roll before her appointment. My niece is home for Summer recess and she said for her birthday she'd like to go to her favorite spot, The Rolling Spring Roll. I've been to this location before and ordered the Banh Mi sandwich, it's always my go to at any Vietnamese restaurant. I had plans to order the same sandwich but my other niece said I should try her favorite, the Angus Beef Short Ribs platter. I'm into a new dish, sold! I ordered the Angus Beef Short Ribs platter with vermicelli noodles. For the table we ordered the famous Shrimp Spring Rolls as well as chicken wings. Both dishes came out fast, very fresh and enough to share. I guess there was a mix up in the kitchen, My rib platter came with rice and my sister in laws dish had the vermicelli noodles. Not a big deal, I didn't feel like swapping items. The Short Ribs had a terrific marinade and they were grilled to perfection. This was a nice treat to eat. I was noticing the other customers, they are all just in the zone getting their Rolling Spring Roll fix. This is more of a casual eatery, like a pizza place. Zip in and zap out, no tablecloths at this spot. Overall, everyone enjoyed their food. My niece was happy so that makes me happy. I would love to try their Vietnamese coffee! read more

If you read the reviews, it's either really good or bleh. You have to go and try it for yourself. If you want authentic pho soup, you will be disappointed since it doesn't have the spices (cinnamon, cardamom, coriander, and star anise) that you would expect. If you want a decent rice noodle soup without having to drive too far, this is a decent option. There are 2 sizes: regular and XL. The regular size is a regular bowl size. The XL is about 2" taller and several inches wider. I forgot to take a picture of the 2 bowls for comparison. For the appetizers, we tried the following which were pretty good: - spring rolls (8 for $12) - chicken wings (5 for $11) For entrees: We ordered beef with rice or vermicelli noodles and grilled chicken with rice. There no complaints. The pho experience is written at the top. Plenty of seats and the server brought us water when we needed. We were able to catchup and didn't rush which is always a plus. read more

Overpriced AND small portions?? Sorry, that doesn't make sense to me. I have not eaten inside, so I can only comment on take out. The banh mi ($12) was $1 more than the ones I get in Brooklyn, yet it was half the size. The filling and the bread were good, but the portion size should be around $6. The pho was ridiculously small. They give very little beef in the Pho. They couldn't even fill the quart container with soup when they are charging $17. I will not be returning. read more

I've been coming to this place for years. I go to the Commack location at least a couple times a month. It's just that good. I usually dine in, but I've also ordered through Uber Eats, and the food always arrives well-packaged. My go-to order is the pho and spring rolls, and I'll sometimes get the chicken wings, which are absolutely awesome. The service is consistently friendly. I've brought many friends here over time, and without fail, they all end up loving it and becoming regulars themselves. I've never come here and been disappointed. Always excellent food and service! read more

We came here to meet some friends since this was a midway point between our homes. Located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. The interior is simple. We ordered a few dishes, and they were all good especially the spring rolls. Decent portion size. Service was friendly and efficient. It you're looking for some Vietnamese cuisine, this is worth a try. read more

Price does not live up to food portions and taste. Disappointed from my experience. Was told the Pho Beef XL would have noodles filled to the top, instead I received half of the bowl full. Their spring roll tasted better than their pho. Gave us 1 lettuce leaf split in 2, and the smallest fish sauce container. Wow, was in disbelief when we opened our containers to see our food portions compared to prices we paid. read more

not your typical pho spot.. maybe caters to white people but definitely not asians. The spring roll is a "favorite" However was full of grease. If I bought this to a viet restaurent in Queens they would give me the dirty look like what is this.... However I guess its whats around here. The noodles was so expensive too $17 a regular and $22 XL bowl... Almost unheard of. Bill for one person a noodle soup with spring roll cost $38 after tip. read more

The Spring Rolls must be prepared in heaven and dropped back down. That's the only explanation I can conjure. We were alone for the majority of time we ate, but at least 5 take out orders came in while We ate, supporting the fact that the food is phenomenal, despite the fact that the restaurant was empty. Now, for the hospitality provided by the owner himself--I mean, the owner's husband. He made sure to point out his wife as the owner and genius behind the curtain. (If I recall correctly) He was very charismatic and friendly, he made sure we received our food promptly, made sure we were good from a distance, ensuring we didn't feel crowded. I am very willing to drive 2 hrs to come back again. read more

The bahn mis are really good. Bread seems homemade and fresh, great prices and service. I need to try the pho next.

My absolute favorite pho spot. Lots of vegan options for you to try. I always get the veggie which also comes with tofu. The tofu bahnmi is great with Sriracha that they offer on the table. They also have a lemongrass tofu dish with rice that is so tasty. The spring rolls are good as always. You should definitely try out this spot if you have some veggie loving friends. They also have meat options for others who like that as well. read more

I was really looking forward to this place and was going to stop by but I ordered for delivery instead. Big mistake! Big big mistake. I spent $60. I ordered spring roll, summer roll with tofu and bahn mi. The summer roll was very good but they gave me a teaspoon of the sauce. It was a little dry without the sauce. For $60 they could have at least put more in the little container. The rest of the order was not very good. You will see my pictures. The spring rolls were overcooked so very dry. The sandwich was a joke and the only good thing I have to say about it was that the pickled veg were good and crunchy and the cilantro was fresh. The rest of it was bad. I pulled out some disgusting hard rubber that might have been fried plastic(see pic) and that was that. Not going back there or ordering from there and I don't suggest that you do either. read more

For a Long Island restaurant, this is pretty great. The service is very quick service restaurant like with understaffing and efficient operations but the food makes up for the lack of atmosphere. They have consistently good food. Their pho is pretty good, they actually have bun Bo hue even though it's missing the blood cakes and their pork chops are pretty good. The only downside is the namesake dish. The springs rolls are just okay and they are way over priced. read more

I drove out east today to go meet with a friend for lunch. We were looking for something affordable but also nourishing. We were going to go to a taco place at first, but then I saw this Vietnamese restaurant pop up on Yelp! I didn't even know there were Vietnamese restaurants this far out east! Besides the Stony Brook area, the only Vietnamese places I'm aware of are in Naussau County, or in Queens. Which isn't great for me since they're so far! But this location in Commack is situated no too far away from where I travel! Honestly when I saw the name I didn't have high expectations. I thought this place wasn't going to be authentic since they're a chain, and the quality tends to go down with chains. But they definitely exceeded my expectations! We arrived around 3:30pm for a late lunch. There was no one at the counter when I walked in, because the staff were busy working in the kitchen during they're downtime. So I just called the restaurant to let them know that we were here. It worked, and he came rushing out after picking up the phone. I ordered spring rolls, and a chicken pho to go along with some banana tapioca-coconut milk pudding! Everything was so good! I ordered everything to go because I wasn't sure if we would have time to sit down and eat it. But the server didn't seem upset when we started eating from the takeout containers. He was cool, and even brought us waters! 2 others customers came in for a sit down lunch as well. It was cold and rainy that day so it was the perfect day for pho. It was my friend's first time having Vietnamese food, and she was blown away! I taught her how to eat the spring roll with the parsley and lettuce, and to dip it in the fish sauce. Then we tried the soup which was very flavorful, rich and very hot! The owner looked very happy that we were there and was even more excited to hear that it was my friend's first time having Vietnamese food. He was very nice and funny. The restaurant was very clean, organized, bright and comfy. There was no visible trash or anything that distracted from the restaurant, it didn't smell and the tables and chairs were very clean. They have several tables and can serve up to 4 people at a table. This restaurant is very nice and I would totally visit again! Next time I want to try their bahn mi. If you're in the area make sure you stop by! read more

I was disappointed. I was looking forward to trying this place because I love Vietnamese food. The Tofu Bahn Mi missed the mark. It was a bland combination absent of flavor. There was a minuscule amount of very thin, unseasoned tofu with steamed broccoli and carrots admixed with pickled cucumber and carrot. There was no sauce. I added the Sriracha and Hoisin that is on the table. I requested that a fried egg be added to the sandwich but was told that was not possible. I'm not sure why because they have omelettes on the menu. Overall, so- so-. I'm not sure I'll return. read more

I shouldn't have much expectations from this place. The way they market themselves got me curious. Especially when they mentioned their "specialty" spring rolls and their signature dishes. Ordered their Regular Beef Pho, Banh Mi, and Spring Rolls. Pretty much the essentials of any viet spot. Their Pho no lie was good. Broth was not too sweet or savory. Got the umami scent and taste. Wasn't over powering nor did it leave a after taste. The Spring Rolls was a disappointment. Barely any meat, microscopic size for $7. The lettuce they gave us were the bud of the lettuce... The Banh Mi was a joke. 80% bread 20% of whatever that was. Bread was stale, filling was scarce. Overall, this is not the place for me. read more

Small family restaurant in strip mall. Comfortable and simple seating, quite casual. But food is fresh, fast, and exceptional! Very authentic flavors. Saw pho which looked delicious! Had a noodle bowl with pork egg rolls. Enjoyed! Owner was welcoming and personable. I recommend! read more

My absolute favorite restaurant, no joke. We have waited long enough Commack. I usually travel into Queens for Pho but when I found this place, absolutely no longer. The summer rolls are a highlight because I think they roll them fresh when you order them and that makes all the difference the peanut sauce that comes with is absolutely perfect. I always order an extra. Shhh don't tell Joe I have also tried the sandwiches, which are just epic. Have ordered lemongrass chicken bowl before and same result everything as fresh the fish sauce is the best now to dig into the reason you are here Pho and it is world-class. You cannot go wrong with a bowl of soup from this place. Spring Rolls are the best so do not hesitate. Try something new and you will thank me later. Call your girlfriends and let them know. It's all about the rolling Spring roll. read more

Excellent food. Super fresh. Always delicious. Have dined in and ordered delivery. Both delicious. Love the beef satay.

one of those spots you try once and instantly know you'll be back. The food is incredibly fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Their spring rolls are perfection--crispy, light, and packed with ingredients that taste super fresh every time. The pho and noodle dishes are also amazing. The broth is rich and comforting, and the portions are generous without being overwhelming. It's the kind of place where every dish feels thoughtfully made. The service is another highlight. The staff is warm, welcoming, and always happy to answer questions or help with recommendations. The restaurant itself is clean and cozy, making it great for a sit-down meal, but the takeout is just as good--fast, well-packed, and always hot when I get it home. If you're looking for fresh Vietnamese food in the area, The Rolling Spring Roll is easily one of the best. Definitely a must-try in Commack! read more

Excellent! Food is delicious, from the pho, to the pork chop and all the rolls. The service is great and food travels well for to-go orders.

I really wanted to like to place, it's the few Asian spots they have in town and they were authentic Vietnamese people running the place. $170 later l, we got our 4 noodle soups, 2 shakes, and a sandwich...kinda pricey but whatever, it's supposed to be the one and only in town.. unfortunately it was such a disappointment. There was barely meat and whatever was in it was dry and chewy, broth tasted like diluted hot water with a splash of bouillon. Sandwhich was dry and flavorless, also with barely and fillings, shakes seemed fresh but it was flavorless (it was also not in season so I don't fault them for this one). I really wished it was at least decent so we can stop traveling so far for viet food but this one was a big miss, one of the worst we had. I'm not sure if we picked an off day because of the other good reviews but we can't drop another $170 on food that was just not good. read more

Stopped in with my son today for some spring rolls and pho, boy am I glad they finally made it to Commack! We each wolfed down an extra large pho, the broth was absolutely delicious and we were each drinking it from the bowl by the end. The spring rolls were on point as usual and the owner was there and stopped by for a chat. I highly recommend checking out this new location. It's not as nice as the other two but it's got the same delicious food. I do feel it's gotten a little pricey for a bowl of pho, but what hasn't these days really. It was so ridiculous!! They charged for the CHOPSTICKS!! Can you believe it? Their metal chopsticks were horrible, so slippery and way too thick to pick up the noodles. Even though I am Asian myself, it was so difficult to use. I asked for wooden chopsticks from the lady (looks like the owner). But the lady said it is 50 cents per chopstick. Isn't it so ridiculous??? What kind of restaurant charges for the utensils??? Do I have to bring my own chopsticks to the restaurant?? I don't understand read more

Husband and I ordered the pho Bo (beef) in small and medium. Broth is bland. You have to douse it in sriracha to give it flavor. 3 thin pieces of beef in small size with about 1 1/2cups of broth and very little noodles. 5 thin pieces of beef in medium size with about 2 cups of broth and small handful of noodles. Very small amount of toppings come for BOTH orders. (5 jalapeños slices, 1/4 cup of sprouts, 2 lime wedges, one sprig of Thai basil) I asked for some cilantro as there was none provided and was charged $1 extra for 6 stems with very little leaves attached. worst $35 ever spent.
