For a Long Island restaurant, this is pretty great. The service is very quick service restaurant like with understaffing and efficient operations but the food makes up for the lack of atmosphere. I am Vietnamese and I had a very disappointing experience with this place. First of all, the host/ cashier was rude to me when I tried to talk to him when I first came in. He also pushed me to pay with credit card even though I wanted to pay cash. Getting to the food - I got bun bo hue, pho, and egg rolls - I am Vietnamese and I've gotten takeout from places countless times. You are ALWAYS supposed to separate the bean sprouts and mint and lime from the dish. Those are supposed to be optional for the customer. THIS PLACE COMBINED THE NOODLES WITH THE BEAN SPROUTS AND LIME!!! You are not supposed to do that! You are always supposed to package them separately. On top of that, the pho broth lacked a lot of depth of flavor. Also, pho is supposed to come with tripe, eye of round, beef ball, which this pho had none of. Bun bo hue is supposed to be spicy and have pig blood, which this one didn't. It was also not flavorful and was just lacking. The egg rolls also did not taste right and the fish sauce was off. My wife told me about this place she liked by her nail salon. She'd stop in for a Vietnamese coffee and a Spring Roll before her appointment. My niece is home for Summer recess and she said for her birthday she'd like to go to her favorite spot, The Rolling Spring Roll. I ordered the Angus Beef Short Ribs platter with vermicelli noodles. For the table we ordered the famous Shrimp Spring Rolls as well as chicken wings. Both dishes came out fast, very fresh and enough to share. I guess there was a mix up in the kitchen, My rib platter came with rice and my sister in laws dish had the vermicelli noodles. Not a big deal, I didn't feel like swapping items. The Short Ribs had a terrific marinade and they were grilled to perfection. This was a nice treat to eat. I was noticing the other customers, they are all just in the zone getting their Rolling Spring Roll fix. This is more of a casual eatery, like a pizza place. If you read the reviews, it's either really good or bleh. You have to go and try it for yourself. If you want authentic pho soup, you will be disappointed since it doesn't have the spices (cinnamon, cardamom, coriander, and star anise) that you would expect. If you want a decent rice noodle soup without having to drive too far, this is a decent option. There are 2 sizes: regular and XL. The regular size is a regular bowl size. The XL is about 2" taller and several inches wider. I forgot to take a picture of the 2 bowls for comparison. For the appetizers, we tried the following which were pretty good: - spring rolls (8 for $12) - chicken wings (5 for $11) For entrees: We ordered beef with rice or vermicelli noodles and grilled chicken with rice. There no complaints. The pho experience is written at the top. Plenty of seats and the server brought us water when we needed. We were alone for the majority of time we ate, but at least 5 take out orders came in while We ate, supporting the fact that the food is phenomenal, despite the fact that the restaurant was empty. I usually dine in, but I've also ordered through Uber Eats, and the food always arrives well-packaged. My go-to order is the pho and spring rolls, and I'll sometimes get the chicken wings, which are absolutely awesome. The service is consistently friendly. I ordered spring roll, summer roll with tofu and bahn mi. The summer roll was very good but they gave me a teaspoon of the sauce. It was a little dry without the sauce. For $60 they could have at least put more in the little container. The rest of the order was not very good. You will see my pictures. The spring rolls were overcooked so very dry. The sandwich was a joke and the only good thing I have to say about it was that the pickled veg were good and crunchy and the cilantro was fresh. The rest of it was bad. I drove out east today to go meet with a friend for lunch. We were looking for something affordable but also nourishing. We were going to go to a taco place at first, but then I saw this Vietnamese restaurant pop up on Yelp! I didn't even know there were Vietnamese restaurants this far out east! We arrived around 3:30pm for a late lunch. There was no one at the counter when I walked in, because the staff were busy working in the kitchen during they're downtime. So I just called the restaurant to let them know that we were here. It worked, and he came rushing out after picking up the phone. I ordered spring rolls, and a chicken pho to go along with some banana tapioca-coconut milk pudding! Everything was so good! I ordered everything to go because I wasn't sure if we would have time to sit down and eat it. But the server didn't seem upset when we started eating from the takeout containers. He was cool, and even brought us waters! 2 others customers came in for a sit down lunch as well. It was cold and rainy that day so it was the perfect day for pho. It was my friend's first time having Vietnamese food, and she was blown away! I taught her how to eat the spring roll with the parsley and lettuce, and to dip it in the fish sauce. Then we tried the soup which was very flavorful, rich and very hot! The owner looked very happy that we were there and was even more excited to hear that it was my friend's first time having Vietnamese food. He was very nice and funny. The restaurant was very clean, organized, bright and comfy. There was no visible trash or anything that distracted from the restaurant, it didn't smell and the tables and chairs were very clean. There was barely meat and whatever was in it was dry and chewy, broth tasted like diluted hot water with a splash of bouillon. We each wolfed down an extra large pho, the broth was absolutely delicious and we were each drinking it from the bowl by the end. The spring rolls were on point as usual and the owner was there and stopped by for a chat. I highly recommend checking out this new location. It's not as nice as the other two but it's got the same delicious food. I do feel it's gotten a little pricey for a bowl of pho, but what hasn't these days really. You have to douse it in sriracha to give it flavor. 3 thin pieces of beef in small size with about 1 1/2cups of broth and very little noodles. 5 thin pieces of beef in medium size with about 2 cups of broth and small handful of noodles. Very small amount of toppings come for BOTH orders.
