We ordered two separate dishes: the chicken with broccoli combination and the boneless spare rib combination. The broccoli was plentiful, but there was barely any chicken, and the chicken itself was bland, with no real flavor. The boneless spare ribs were overly sweet, and the pork fried rice had a poor texture, almost like it wasn't fresh. Even the fortune cookies were stale. This place is hit or miss. Sometimes it's better to wait a bit and get something that's truly good. West Islip really needs a more consistent Chinese takeout spot. I came across a picture of these dumplings in spicy sesame sauce and just felt compelled to try them. So at the heart of it, it is a traditional dumpling, the shrimp inside is chopped up into tiny pieces, dough nice and chewy. The problems I found though were that the dumpling itself didn't taste all too special without the sauce, the inside was pretty dry and lacking flavor. Also the sauce was sweeter than it was spicy? And it's a peanut sauce more than anything? Don't get me wrong it's a good sauce but it's not how I'd imagine it would taste in this dish and it ended up carrying. Well, the spice never kicked in as I finished half my dumplings and left the rest for later. Though the chili pepper next to this menu item was just for show, all together it tasted good. Well, if you really want some nasty nasty tasteless food go to four seasons take out on Union Boulevard. It is horrible. We ordered noodle soups completely tasteless except for the liquid the liquid taste like dirty dish water so you have some flavor there. Everything was terrible. we took everything and threw it away. The worst soup noodle soup I've ever had in my life. I will never ever go back to this restaurant do yourself a big favor save your money. Go down the road. Find yourself another Chinese restaurant. Chicken and broccoli dishes were just okay but eatable. The sweet and sour (so-called) shrimp dish was beyond awful; watery red sauce and fried dough strips that were disguised as shrimp. When I called to tell them, the owner said she can't help me because "other people order it and they like it". That doesn't change the fact that my meal was awful and went in the garbage. To say she was rude would be an understatement. There are way too many other, more hospitable Chinese restaurants with delicious food, where I can take my business. Four Season food quality and customer relations have declined greatly. Stay away. read more

We love four season!!! Our favorite is the udon noodle soup with shrimp wantons! It's delicious!! Be prepared for swollen appendages though- tons of salt! This Chinese takeout was a pleasant surprise. The food was quick and delicious! I had a shrimp roll which was very small but it's crispy shell hid delicious vegetables and shrimp. I followed that with Roast Pork Chow Mein. That had big pieces of pork and was tasty. I order the cold sesame noodles as an appetizer. That was the best. Rich peanut flavor but not overpowering spicy as advertised but just right. Will definitely return. read more

Was very disappointed in the customer service. I ordered 3 orders of dumplings with hot chili oil and received dumplings in hot sesame sauce which is made with peanuts. Asked them to replace the incorrect order and was told by the owner no. She said there was nothing she can do. Asked several time for a refund at a replacement and she consistently said no. A few years ago, I gave Four Seasons only 2 stars because their food tasted re- heated and old. But after going back a few times over the last year, I feel their food is back to its old standard - very good. The egg rolls definitely taste fresher as does the spare ribs and chicken dishes. Ordered boneless pork spare ribs all one large wad of fat called manager on phone she would not credit my charge card for this portion of my order insisted I physically bring back partially eaten food in violation of health codes. A ROCK in my food! As I was nearing completing my Beef and Broccoli combo dinner I thought I lost a tooth. A hard object was in my mouth. It was a Rock!!! No not a bone, or something edible or biodegradable, I took some hardcore scissors to it and it won't break, a jagged rock was in my food. I'm now debating inducing vomiting, but one thing is for sure if I have any medical bills this place will be hearing from me. I can't believe what I'm typing right now. I've been looking for a better Chinese place because I heard some bad things about the nearby Zipper factory polluting West Islip. Very disappointed. Food was bland. They forgot to include rice with my order. We called immediately and her response was "you want to come and pick it up"? Would I have ordered delivery which included a generous tip (they were very quick to deliver) had I known they were going to ask me to come and pick up something they forgot to include? I realize it was only rice (which we really wanted)...even said we would wait for the next driver going out, but they said they couldn't and would make a note to include in my next order. That's not going to happen. I realize things are a little crazy now with COVID and this has happened with other places as well. Difference is all the other places apologized and immediately sent someone out. I would have been more understanding had they not been so rude. read more

There many Chinese restaurant and takeout places in the wider general area of my home. In my humble opinion, I became aware of this place through the weekly local ad paperwork this past week, saw the good reviews here on Yelp, and figured I'd check it out . . . As you may know from my other reviews, my favorite Chinese take out is the General Tso's combination platter, with a side order of fried wontons. I use these as the benchmark when rating any Chinese food restaurant. Tale of the culinary tape: General Tso's Chicken - Small to medium sized chunks of chicken. - Chicken coating was not crunchy except for part of one piece. This is probably unfair to judge, as sitting in a hot closed container for about fifteen minutes steams the crunchy right out of the dish. Definitely the case, in this case . . . . - The sauce had good flavor, though it didn't have that spicy zing to it, which is oddly and unfortunately absent in this dish at the majority of Chinese take outs. The flavor has a slight citrus aspect to it, which I did enjoy. - Not too much sauce - in fact, this one had the lease amount of sauce of any General Tso's I've ever had . . . and that's a good thing! I can't say that this is the best General Tso's chicken of all time, but it did have a unique flavor. Fried Rice - Yellow in appearance, with a sparse amount of roast pork chunks, but it did have the most broccoli pieces I've ever had in a General Tso's dinner. - Taste was mediocre at best, but it did taste better when the bit of General Tso's sauce was mixed in . . . Egg roll - Haven't had it yet - will update when I do . . . . Fried Wontons - Were only slightly crispy on the outside, with an inexplicably doughy layer on the inside, as if they needed to spend more time in the fryer (which, on second thought, may not have helped . . .). Oh, NO! - Put them in the toaster oven when I got home at 275 degrees for 20 minutes, but even that failed to crisp them up to my satisfaction. I may have to slow bake them for an hour at a slightly lower temperature to get them where I want them . . . . Very disappointed here! Thai Ice Cream In the pictures for this restaurant are two intriguing shots of what they call Thai ice cream, which look like thinly rolled goodness topped with cookies, candy or fruit. I asked for it, but was told they don't have it anymore. I asked when they stopped carrying it, and it seems like it vanished from their menu some months back . . . . Conclusion Was very unimpressed with this place,especially in light of the good reviews! read more

We got our usual shrimp and broccoli and pork fried rice with pork eggrolls. All of the above had no taste! Shrimp and broccoli had no brown sauce and was like slimy and tasteless.
