This is our go to place for authentic Chinese food. The service is excellent, it's very pretty inside but above all, the food is excellent. The Szechuan Dumplings are so yummy. The broccoli is cooked perfectly. I haven't had a bad meal here. We had a large party there recently and they were awesome. I can't say enough about Mango Tango. Oh and their cocktails are great too. So fortunate to have this great place in the neighborhood. read more

This used to be my go to take out spot. I moved & hadn't been back in a few years so I was in the area & decided to order it again. Unfortunately, the food was lacking flavor. The sesame chicken sauce was the consistency of water. It used to be a thicker sauce. The rice was also really disappointing, it tasted like plain white rice & there was no soy sauce. I used to order consistently good food from here years ago so I'm not sure if it has changed or it was a bad day. read more

Have come here a few times and overall, pretty tasty. I appreciate the parking in the back, there is always lots of seating, and service is kind and efficient. There is a variety of panasian dishes. Most recently, I got the string bean garlic sauce with pork, and I was very surprised by how authentic and tasty it is. The string beans were stirfried perfectly with a great wok hei flavor, the sauce was savory but slightly sweet, and the pork was so tender! read more

Always fresh and delicious, this small town gem dishes out menu items from different parts of Asia. Slightly more expensive than a Chinese takeout place, but worth every penny!!!! I highly recommend the Four Seasons dish and, if you have a more curious palate, try the Basil Beef! read more

Drinks, bad. Service, worse. Ambience, none. Waited almost 30 minutes for a drink. Had to go to bar to get it. Messed up my order. Correct order of sashimi did taste good. But this is not a pleasant place to dine. read more

We were looking for lunch and came across this Asian fusion restaurant. There is street parking available as well as a small parking lot behind it. There is a 2 page lunch menu and plenty to choose from. All the dishes we ordered were very good. We shared a sushi lunch order as an appetizer. Portions were generous and the hot dishes were tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. The decor was very nice. Will dine there again next time we're in town. read more

Tried Mango Tango recently, a so-called Latin fusion Chinese joint that sounded like a party and tasted like a breakup. First, the portions were so small I thought I'd accidentally ordered from the kids' menu. For basically $20, I got half a scoop of rice, three slivers of chicken, and a garnish that had more effort than the entire dish. I've had free samples at Costco that left me more satisfied. And the flavor? Nonexistent. I kept chewing, waiting for something (lime, chili, garlic, anything), but all I got was warm disappointment. It was like someone whispered "fusion" over plain steamed food and called it a day. The Latin side ghosted me harder than a bad Tinder date. The Chinese side showed up tired, uninterested, and possibly reheated. Together, they formed the culinary equivalent of an awkward first date. Honestly, calling it "Mango Tango" is false advertising. It was overpriced silence in a takeout box. The final verdict? If you're hungry and hate yourself a little, go ahead. Otherwise, save your money and lick an envelope. I'm sure it'll taste better. read more

While looking for Chinese food in the area, Mango Tango came up on yelp as recommended for people who like Mr. Wangs in Oakdale. It is located in the heart of Islip Main Street. There is a very small parking lot in the back and street parking. Everyone was friendly, the place was clean and cute inside. Service was fast, the food was hot and came out quickly. This place is an Asian fusion place with many sushi options and a portion of the menu allowed you to choose meals from different Asian regions which is not something I've seen elsewhere where. The fried rice was very good. Less greasy and more fresh tasting than a traditional Chinese restaurant. Each of the plates came with serving spoons or tongs which is something else I haven't seen many places offer. It was good and worth a stop if you're looking for someplace different to eat. read more

The good.. the food was very tasty and some of the best sushi and appetizers I've had in a long time. The bad...we ordered 3 apps and 3 dinners. One of the apps was a chicken lettuce wrap. They gave us a few pieces of lettuce and we had so much extra chicken that we asked for a few more pieces of lettuce and were charged extra for 3 small pieces of lettuce after spending over a hundred dollars read more

The finest Asian Fusion in the area. The staff is excellent and friendly. The drinks are terrific and much to choose from.

Was in the area while working in the field for lunch. I've had this place bookmarked so I decided to stop in and pick up lunch. I ordered online so that I wouldn't have to wait, and ordering online gives you 10% off. I went with chicken pad thai extra spicy lunch special. Lunch special comes with soup or salad. I opted for soup. The wonton soup was tasty. Yummy broth and delicious wontons. I was looking forward to my pad thai as I was slurpping my soup. The excitement went down as soon as I mixed the peanuts in and took my first bite. It was super sweet and not spicy at all. Although I was able to see the red pepper flakes, there wasn't one ounce of spice at all. I also noticed mushrooms and onions in it. I've been eating pad thai for over 15 years. I have never, ever had onions and mushrooms in my pad thai. Eh. What a disappointing lunch read more

I have been looking for a restaurant that can satisfy the classic American Chinese food cravings since our local place shut down during Covid and I wish this place did it for me but it didn't. The food wasn't bad by any means, tasted very fresh and clean but lacked flavor. I am still in search of a place that I can get a good chicken and broccoli and lo mein. I can't speak on their Japanese cuisine as I did not try it. I don't think I will order from here again. read more

Decided on dining here based on the overall Yelp rating and I have to say, I don't get it! The hostess was very welcoming and we were seated quickly. However, it went downhill from there. Our waitress was in a hurry and seemed short with her responses. I'm not sure why because they weren't overly busy when we got there. Then, each appetizer and entree came out of the kitchen one at a time. Luckily, I was with my daughter and we shared everything but that wasn't our intention. It was almost as if they were waiting for us to finish each dish before they brought out the next. The food itself was ok. The miso soup and edamame were fine. We ordered a California roll and the avocado they used was overly ripe, mushy and starting to brown. Not a good experience for my daughter's first ever attempt at sushi. The fried pork dumplings looked nice on the plate but the filling was pretty soft/mushy to the point where I worried for a second they might not be fully cooked. We ate them anyway. The Pad Thai had a good flavor overall and came out piping hot but the pork that I got with it was also super soft and almost slimy. One positive was that we felt like we got a good amount of food for a little over $40. read more

The food was quite good! They are kind of expensive but nothing abnormal for sushi. The service was a bit slow, we waited about an hour for our food but it was a busy night! The salad was very good and I did enjoy my dinner here. The interior is always very nice and great for a night out read more

Went for lunch the service was excellent very nice people who work there ambience was nice. Very nice restaurant my friend and I both had pad Thai. It was mediocre. I don't understand why these Asian fusion places put red onion in pad Thai it's supposed to be scallions changes the whole flavor it wasn't very tasty And after I went home I was sick all afternoon. Something just didn't agree with me. I don't know what was wrong with it, but I won't be going back. read more

I've always heard good things about this spot but it was our first time actually being able to go. Much nicer inside than expected. They have a great mix of options and drinks. The man who came over to give us water was extremely nice and told us to let him know if we wanted anymore at anytime. Our waitress seemed a little bothered when we weren't ready to order and we wanted another drink. Drinks were pretty good. Food was very good. General tsos had so much flavor. I chose the rock and roll and Valentine roll. Both had fresh sushi and shrimp. They had great sauces paired with each. The Rock and roll was definitely my favorite and I would highly recommend. We ended up not getting a second drink because we waited a little longer than expected. They were unable to do fried rice which was a . I would still come back again and give it another try though! read more

Mango Tango my way to a very peaceful and plentiful lunch, popping into this location after a local Doctor appointment. Was able to find parking in back lot at 2pm which was convenient. Walked in through their back door to a restaurant empty of patrons, but filled with smiling staff ready to seat me wherever. Opted for barside since I was flying solo and was hoping to grab some quick sushi to fill the tummy. Sushi galore that's for sure. Every and any option that you could image existed within their menu. With so many of my favorites it was hard to pick from quickly. Thoughts of wonderment on what was part of their lunch specials will find you towards the back of menu. Had a feeling its would be there, but getting to read through all their selections was overly appetizing and excited me to go back and try more. This day I opted for the Spicy Girl roll, which wasn't too spicy unless you really added some wasabi. It was super fresh, mouthwatering overfilling the palette at times. Maybe that was me though with all my extra ginger though. This is not a roll on the Lunch special menu, so I opted to order a Miso soup and Ginger salad along with it to make it have the feel of one. Although will say in the end it was more of a late lunch...so a 'Linner' for me. Soup was warm and just right...down to the perfectly knife cut tiny cubes of tofu. Salad was fresh and crispy with a good amount ginger dressing it. Beverage glass was never left empty and they even supplied me with the extra fresh lemon that I requested. Server was on point and even offered dessert, but this time I had to take a pass mid-day. I look forward to trying more of their menu at my next opportunity when in the area. read more

The portions were pretty small for sushi, fried wontons and dinners in general. Overall, the food was bland and nothing to get excited about. I have ordered from here many times and enjoyed my dishes. The site never has worked to honor the discount, maybe my fault.I wanted to try something new and we were too tired to head out West.I googled about drunken noodles and who served it up locally. The noodles had the spice kick that I desired and enough shrimp.But..omg the oil could fry ten whole chickens. In now way should anything so greasy leave the kitchen. The spring rolls were nice and crispy Mildly generic though. Mango Tango is one of those cute and cozy restaurants, along Main Street in Islip. As I mentioned, I do encourage every Yelper to reach and help out the mama and papa businesses in the area. Last night, we were a party of 5. My sister made a reservation for 8:30 pm. The restaurant has small parking lot in the back for customers. The decor and space of the establishment is nicely done. Despite the size, I didn't feel cramped. The tables are spread out apart, according to covid19 health protocols. As an appetizer, me and my sister nibbled on edamame. They were boiled to perfection and topped with sea salt. Delicious! We shared the pork ginger dim sum and chicken satay too. My sister had the tofu with sauteed vegetables, her husband had the pineapple shrimp fried rice, and my cousins ate chicken fried rice. I ended up ordering the Maki roll special, miso soup, ginger salad and pork ginger dim sum. Both the miso soup and ginger salad were brought in first. My favorite were the pork ginger dim sum; the flavor was amazing with the right amount of warmth from the ginger. The waitress met out every demand and was not only polite but very funny too! Despite the fact that she was wearing a mask, she made us feel very welcomed. Slowly but surely things will be back to normalcy soon. We will definitely be back again. Good food and good prices. read more

Food and service was good but the music is way too loud making it difficult to have a conversation.

Wow, Mango Tango is a hidden gem in Islip. We arrived here thanks to a groupon and were excited to try the fresh dishes as so many reviews spoke about. Since the wife and I love to sit at the sushi bar when a restaurant has one, we were able to watch the sushi chefs engage in finessing their meticulous movements to create works of art. They even presented us with an appetizer to try out on the house. It was a flash fired salmon wrapped veggie dish. It was out of this world. As our main we had the sushi & sashimi combo with a Philadelphia roll instead of California ($2 upcharge), the mango tango roll, the pineapple rice and chicken lo mein. Every dish was on point and not overly salted which is so rare to find. We accompanied all this with fresh green tea. Can't wait to go back, it's definitely entering our rotation. read more

Pretty basic. An inexpensive lunch but nothing to write home about. Sushi was decent.

Arrived here for lunch on the first warm day of Spring. The A/c was a welcome respite. My friend and I each ordered Beef Pad Thai. It was just ok. Not the best I've had. I'll be honest--I usually avoid Asian fusion places like this because in my experience, they're all the same. But not mango tango! I ordered the Szechuan tofu lunch special, 2 other people in my group ordered sushi, and the other one Chinese. My food was excellent and theirs looked excellent too. So easy to come here on lunch and I looked forward to coming back. Ordering tofu in that style is risky--but this was perfect! Nicely spicy and not syrupy at all. Plus the tofu texture was awesome. My only complaint was that the wonton soup broth was a little lacking, but the wontons themselves definitely made up for it! read more
