Everything just has a burn oil taste! I paid for brown rice and got sticky white rice. Moo shu veg: burnt oil taste. Scallion pancakes: burnt oil taste. To stiff to chew. Sesame noodles: starchy half cooked noodles with no sesame sauce just some seeds on top. Steamed veg dumplings: the only item we can eat and they are not delicious but at least you could chew them! Best Chinese food in town! Their food tastes more homemade than most Chinese takeout places. Their shrimp rolls seem house made, as do their dumplings. I eat a lot of vegetarian food often, and their tofu with broccoli tastes better than most tofu dishes at other Chinese restaurants. read more

Ordered dinner from here while working late. I went with a small chicken shrimp and broccoli and asked for it to be made spicy. It was good, but could have used a bit more spice. A small is a perfect size for one person. Very filling. Egg drop soup was delicious as well. Both the soup and the shrimp and broccoli wasn't salty or greasy at all. To my surprise they gave me Chinese donuts! They were good! Light and airy..,and not too sweet. I would definitely order from here again during work. Prices were reasonable as well. Delicious food. I got their General Tso's Chicken special combo, which is with pork fried rice (Chef's special is with white rice) and cold sesame noodles. My preference for General Tso's Chicken consists of a crunchier texture with thick sauce. Kai's delivered just that and their pork fried rice was also yummy. The cold sesame noodles were topped with carrots, bean sprouts, and I believe snow peas. There was sesame sauce and another sauce towards the bottom. I mixed it before eating and it was the perfect amount. It has a peanut-like taste, which I expected before ordering, as I have had cold sesame noodles elsewhere. I would definitely come here again. The reviews for this restaurant regarding the taste of their food is spot-on, despite not being so recent. **Note**: This is a takeout restaurant so do not expect to sit down. They have two chairs for you to sit and wait once you arrive but that is all. The only part of Kai's menu I haven't had is from the half dozen list of Thai items. I decided to give it a shot this time, and this is the tale of the latest tape: Yellow Curry (Massamun) with Chicken The rich, peanut (butter?) infused mild spicy curry known as panang. When I looked up what panang curry was, I figured I would like it, and I was right. Mushroom quarters, eggplant, green beans, light tofu cubes with chicken. The vegetables are tender, as is the chicken. As far as the curry is concerned, it has just enough of a spicy aspect to make you know its there, but it's not overpowering. Comes with a side of white rice, which is great to help sop up the plentiful curry sauce. This was really good, and I would get it again. I also got a half-order of their Dim Sum, which is all they had left at the end of the day. I'm fortunate to have had that much, as I've had it before and it's still great! read more

We had just done some Tanger outlet shopping earlier and wanted to get some Chinese takeout to bring back home. We saw this place on Yelp with fabulous reviews and decided to give it a try. We ordered chicken with broccoli combo with white rice and soup. You can sub the soup for egg roll if you wish. The dish looked really good and had good amount of sauce which my son just adore. My wife and I got the house special mei fun rice noodle dish which was plentiful and tasted really good. We also ordered a green curry with chicken Thai entree. For a Chinese takeout joint, we were impressed at their Thai dishes. The curry had mushrooms, eggplants, tofu etc so you know they don't skimp out on ingredients. The fact that our dishes were over $35, we qualified for free small roast pork fried rice or choice of 2 sodas. So definitely watch out for deals. All in all, we were very very impressed and the only negative thing is we wished their white rice wasn't that soggy. Nonetheless, we will definitely order from here again when we are around the neighborhood. read more

Kai is in the same spot Rhine Chinese Kitchen used to be. Lately we have been having Chinese Take-Out at least once a week because of Kai. We returned to this location to give them a shot. Four of us give them a huge thumbs up. All meals are delicious and unique. Their recipes are different from other local take-outs, so yummy. They are always prompt and on larger orders surprise us with extra little treats (like cinnamon puff zeppoli type thingies). Food portions are plentiful. This kitchen doesn't fluff the order with tons of rice but does give plenty of meat, chicken and fresh vegetables. Prices very reasonable. I decided to order based on the reviews I read here, and I was more than pleased I did! First let's talk about lovely the girl who took my order was; she was very sweet, very helpful, and went over my order with me...totally efficient and a pleasure to speak to! I ordered delivery, used my card and was asked if I'd be tipping cash or what amount to add to the card. She told me about 40 mins, but it was a Saturday night, so I didn't mind it took a little longer (maybe closer to 50-60)...I did call only because I asked her to have it delivered to the apartment through the gate and being there are 2 side doors. I wanted to make sure the driver went to the right one. As I was calling the food arrived so I thanked them both. Now for the food: I was pleasantly surprised that they added in an order of delicious sugared donuts...they were fresh, light, airy, and tasty!!! The dim sum was delicious! The outside (dumpling wrapper) was made properly (super thin, not thick and chewy, cooked perfectly) and the filling was flavorful and there was a nice amount of it. (I've had dim sum from plenty of places and I have found the outside can be thick, really chewy, and the inside very heavy and underwhelming...) Kai's dim sum is a winner! The egg roll was excellent too! It was a little bigger then most I've come across and was not oily at all! I always ask for them to make sure the egg rolls are not saturated in oil, but usually they're still pretty oily, so I stopped asking but that's exactly what I received without having to ask! (I find for most take out places they all use the same little egg rolls and absorb so much oil because they don't pat them down or give them some time to rest and allow the excess to drip off, so this was a really nice change...) I always order General Tso's chicken extra crispy and extra spicy. The sauce was thick and that very classic tasting sauce which is difficult to find these days. It was perfect! Super crispy, great level of heat, tender chicken on the inside and a little extra sauce. The pork fried rice was on point. Again, a more traditional fried rice...there were peas, carrots, onions, and chunks of yummy pork...rice was perfectly cooked, as were the veggies, and again the freshness was there! Overall, I had a great experience from start to finish. Awesome customer service. Everything is fresh and tasty. Reminds me of old school Chinese take out...Will definitely order from them in the future! read more

I don't know how this Takeout place got 4.5 stars. First of all there is no eating in The crab Rangoon was excellent crispy shell with creamy center perfect balance. The pepper steak was good. The meat was tender. General Taos Chicken was very good. The big disappointment was the roast pork chow mien It did not have the usual vegetables. Bamboo shoots water cress snow peas and a light sauce. The dish was dark and greasy. I will not return. read more

I liked how diverse the menu was in terms of cuisine and looked forward to ordering here. It was my second time ordering and decided to get shrimp pad Thai and a wonton soup delivered to my house. The delivery was super quick and the restaurant got my order right, I typically omit onions. I did find that they use a smaller size of shrimp than what I've gotten at other restaurants. Seemed like it may have been medium (but that may be generous bc they were really small. My daughter said it tastes different than the spot we usually order from which I agree with but I can't say for sure what was different about it. It just wasn't what I was expecting, maybe because I'm used to my other spot. It also came with a lemon wedge instead of lime which isn't a big deal but I do find that lime compliments the sweetness and other flavors much better. The wontons were also on the smaller side but still tastes like how you would expect. The order came with free fried doughnuts which were a highlight because I wasn't expecting it and they were really good! I wouldn't mind if they came with a little dipping sauce too If I order again though, I would not go with the pad Thai but would try some of my go to Chinese American dishes I like to get. read more
