I was out shopping with a friend and BF is getting home from work and we all didn't have a dinner yet. We happen to see this Chinese restaurant as we were getting out of the outlets. It's small inside, with three tables or so it's not a dine in restaurant it's a takeout place. Not a very attractive place I would say, but the man was really nice and friendly. We ordered to take out shrimp broccoli, spicy and sweet shrimp and chicken broccoli. All three orders were good and shrimp was jumbo not mini. we all enjoyed our dinner. We had brown rice to go with our meals and it was not 100% cooked, I guess it was cooked but it was still a little hard still but I didn't mind too much. He gave us a liter size Pepsi tho I don't drink Pepsi, but it was a nice gesture! Next time I go to the outlets I will stop here to take out! read more

I had the sweet and sour shrimp with rice, and it was really amazing. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, the sauce had the right balance of sweet and spicy, and the heat really surprised me in the best way. This place is incredibly underrated -- the food hits every time, and the workers are some of the kindest people you'll meet. Definitely a spot worth supporting. This review is on behalf of my brother Eddie who does not Yelp. Fortunately for him, I'm here to pass his good word along. Eddie visits Cheung's about once per week. The food is always superb. His regular order is orange chicken. He says the sauce is very sweet and he loves it. It comes with pork fried rice and they always take the veggies out for him because that's not his jam. The hospitality is fantastic. They know their regular customers like the back of their hand. Whenever he calls they know he is "Eddie sweet not spicy" to customize his order. While Cheung's is def your average take out... they do have food that stands out to me more than other take outs in the area. I love their chicken with string beans Szechuan style... the sauce is def spicy and it comes with a decent amount of chicken. Their hot and sour soup is HOT, like spicy! I love that it comes with tofu and fresh mushrooms.. I have ordered their vegetable fried rice a bunch and it comes with nice large pieces of veggies including broccoli which I love ! And also this may be weird ... but they have amazing chicken wings and plantains. They really are so good and they also have these really bomb ass chicken fingers! I like to pair them with honey for dipping or grab their house duck sauce... This is a great fine local take out with superb food. Came here based on a Yelp review about a year ago and love this place. Ordered spare ribs the sauce is authentic and nice taste. I dont like hard chicken it's a no no for me and second the chicken and broccoli brown sauce was thick and slime like- that was a first it stretched out like gum so that weirded me out. Blech I was staying at the Hampton inn in commack - this place was listed in their welcome book with an attached menu. Ordered the shrimp with broccoli and sautéed string beans Surprising ( and not in a good way) scrimps were battered and fried. Broccoli was crunchy (yay) sauce was awful and greasy. We absolutely love this place for chinese takeout. They are so super friendly and kind as we have been ordering chinese delivery from them for 11 years. We have tried other chinese places in the area but this one by far is the best one in the dix hills, commack, deer park area. They make the bbq ribs really great and my husband likes the spicy vegetable with chicken entree and i will get the sesame chicken or vegetable and pork/beef and also we like the pan fried dumplings. Everything is always tasty and never once a bad experience with the food in all these yrs. Honestly I would give this establishment 0 stars. Going off of the good reviews I was tricked into ordering. I placed the order and couldn't decide between the butterfly shrimp and the fan tail shrimp. Not having the menu but still taking a chance I called to order telling the man who took the order I couldn't decide. He never once corrected me as I ordered the fried scallop , shrimp and broccoli then wanting to ordered fried shrimp. He said fantail is fried and butterfly shrimp is egg foo young . I had this order delivered and then called on the phone stating that I got egg foo young. The lady there was belligerent over the phone , loud , yelling , telling me stop talking and listen to her.This made me and my boyfriend go to return the delivered food. This place was like a chinese restaurant in the hood with no customers , husband and wife I am guessing as the both greeted us yelling , pointing at the pictures on the menu . I then explained that it looks like egg foo young and i didn't see any shrimp. Then told her when you google butterfly shrimp it shows fried large shrimp as i have ordered before from other chinese fast food restaurants. She got even more nasty and said don't look at google and here take back your money and don't order here anymore. I said gladly the food was horrible and had no taste. I can see why they were empty and they had to put their own reviews in to boost the scores. This is how you respond to first time customers. I noticed this has some of the best reviews for chinese takeouts in my work area so I was excited to try them out during my lunch break. I purchased the sesame chicken extra spicy lunch combo with an egg roll. The price is cheap like most chinese takeout lunch specials. The sauce was a bit thicker than i'd like but that isnt too much of an issue. The biggest issue is that there is too much flour in the chicken pieces and not enough chicken. The last piece I ate was a large piece, which consisted of ZERO chicken. It was literally all deep fried breading. The egg roll is average. read more

There are no less than a dozen Chinese takeout places within a half mile radius of Cheungs Garden. In my estimation, this place could be among the best of them. I stopped by just to pick up a menu, but the friendliness of the staff compelled me to try them immediately! My favorite Chinese take out dish is the General Tso's combination platter, with a side order of fried wontons. I use these as the benchmark when rating any Chinese food restaurant. Tale of the tape: General Tso's Chicken - bite-sized chunks of chicken that had a welcome little bit of crunch - while there was a slight bit too much sauce, it nonetheless had a nice tang to it typically absent at most Chinese take outs Fried Rice - not quite enough roast pork chunks - decent taste, better if mixed with the chicken sauce Fried Wontons - while not too bad, they nonetheless seemed to taste like flour This is the part of the review I pen with a heavy heart, and the reason I give the restarurant only two stars. After eating most of the meal when I got home, that night and into the next day I had a bout of domestic Montezuma's Revenge. I got this take out over a year and a half ago, and haven't been back since. I sometimes forget this place even exists, because it's located in a small deadzone of a shopping center but nevertheless when I am close and in the mood for Chinese, I always make sure to order their steamed pork dumplings. They are the best around, priced at least 50 cents cheaper, and that doesn't effect their quality. That goes for all their food. Also, their American food options aren't half bad either. read more

A very unassuming little take out joint, Cheung's Garden surprised me with the quality of their food. Their Hot & Sour soup is excellent, and their shredded pork with garlic sauce had a good, spicy BITE to it. Far too many Chinese restaurants on Long Island "dumb down" their Szechuan dishes for bland American palates. I'm glad to see Cheung's is not one of them. I would rate this place as one of the BEST chinese restaurants on LI! I live about a half hour away and I bring home food from here all the time. Much better than where I live! MUST haves: Hot and Sour soup. the Best, period. The ribs are fat and juicy but not fatty! Shrimp with garlic sauce, better than in Chinatown I swear!
