It took me 2.5 years to actually have the procedure (literally, multiple appointments...I couldn't get over my fear so I waited...so dumb!!) but I could not be more happy now that it is done! Edit: Just had my eyes done with Dr. Marino. It hasn't been 24 hours and I have no discomfort and can see great! Wonderful staff and I love how they talked me through every step of what was going on so I knew how long it would take, and that everything was going as per plan. Highly recommend Dr. Marino. We just had my husband's surgery done yesterday and everything went according to what they described. With one exception. We were told to plan 90 minutes for everything and we were actually done 25 minutes post appointment time. Dr. Marino and his staff (especially Ash) were great. Went back for his checkup today. Everything is healing well. The only problem we have to deal with is my jealousy until I get my eyes done next year. read more

The reason for so many five star reviews is that the company enters you in a chance to win prizes right after your procedure if you write a five star review. I had my procedure performed almost 2 years ago, 7 months after the procedure my left eye started regressing. I went through the process of going to the eye doctor and sending in the paperwork for a needed enhancement. 7 months later I got a call to schedule an appt two weeks out (unable to make due to work schedule, which I don't know anyone that can get off of work that quickly), so I asked to schedule for the next month. They were unable to make an appointment for me for the next month (...because they don't make appointments a month out...) but asked me to call back. I have been trying to reach them for the past 3 months now to make that appointment to no avail. I have been suffering from awful headaches from the difference of vision in my eyes. If you're considering LasikPlus I would recommend looking for another company that tries to take care of their existing patients, as LasikPlus has shown it does not. read more

DO NOT GO HERE and expect professionalism. The staff is rude, unprofessional and inappropriate. The customer service is awful. Will not be going back. The ladies at the front desk were rude from the first second I walked in. They demanded my credit card to pay for my surgery "up front" before I knew if I was even qualified. They made a big deal about it when I refused to give it to them. They also schedule appointments every fifteen minutes and are very overbooked. They take you to a different area make you watch a ten minute video on repeat about how amazing their company is while you wait for your turn. Once it was finally my turn (my appointment was 2:15. I didn't get seen till 2:55) I met with someone named Charles. Very skeevy older man who gave too many overly friendly compliments. We did the simple eye tests and he laughed at me while doing so. My left eye has a really strong astigmatism and I don't qualify for the lasik surgery but instead of answering my questions or telling me things that can be done to help me see better or improve my eye sight he promptly rushed me out the door. I didn't even have a chance to see the doctor/surgeon. They didn't have time for me anymore as soon as they realized I wasn't a candidate. Just ushering me out the door. I was just a number to them and that number went from $$$$ to 0. The other thing is everywhere in the building are posters and signs to leave them 5 star reviews on google and you could win an Amazon gift card. - that's illegal. That's why there are so many fake 5 star reviews here. This place is truly awful and I don't recommend. The staff is rude, unprofessional and inappropriate. Will not be going back. read more

While my optometrist did recommend LasikPlus, he did advise that I look past all of it. With that out of the way, it's about the only negative thing I can say about LasikPlus in Kenwood. Dr. Marino's impressive track record of over 100,000 patients treated speaks for itself. I had my consultation on Monday and was in for treatment the following Wednesday. The next day I was back at work (not 100% but it worked out) and even went mountain biking on Saturday. Its an amazing procedure and all of the staff was great to work with. What probably surprised me the most was how patient and nice Dr. Marino was before and during treatment. Everyone there treats this procedure with the respect and reverence it deserves. I then scheduled my surgery and on the day of having it done, the surgeon backed out on me and would not go any alternate route claiming that I would have to wear glasses anyway. I had my lasik surgery back in March. I have had glasses since the 5th grade. My stigmatism in both eyes have always been an issue with buying contacts that I could see with. Highly recommend this office for anyone considering lasik. While they have a lot of patients coming and going they go out of their way to be personable and not treat you like one of a long line. The reason why I'm giving them such a good review is how accommodating they are. I received two calls the week of my procedure to see if I had any questions or concerns; one from the surgeon that would be performing my procedure and I was very shocked at how friendly he was! Afterwards I even got a thank you note from him and his office. Super friendly staff from the surgeon to the welcome desk attendant. As for the procedure: yes it is scary. No you don't need to be a CIA torture specialist to survive it. I was in and out of the operating room within 5 minutes and on my way home. A few moments of discomfort at worse for a lifetime of great vision. Totally worth it. Only complaints: wish I had bought/ they had provided a stress ball during the procedure since they did not give me any sedation (I was given a Tylenol PM and that's it medication-wise), wish they had longer lasting numbing drops or had given me a bottle to take home because the worst pain is for the first few hours after the procedure after the numbing drops give right before surgery wore off (I'm not a medical professional so I can't speak to if this practical or even a medically sound option) All in all, the procedure was pretty painless and done so quickly I didn't have time to freak out. Being nearsighted, I had misplaced my glasses (a common issue for me). Before going back to the optometrist for new glasses. I decided to check out LASIK. Based on reviews, I came to LasiikPlus. I'm so glad I did. The staff was phenomenal- too to bottom. After my eYe exam, rather than go after the $, they suggested, based on my vision, to try one eye correction and leave the other alone to preserve my reading. My new philosophy on life is - follow your fear! I really put that idea to practice when I decided to visit Lasik Plus! In all honesty, I had a great deal of fear regarding the idea that I would trust veritable strangers to reshape my eyeball with lasers. I knew that my best bet would be to visit the people who could afford to put an image of a giant eye on the side of their building. Of course, I also checked out Yelp reviews and heard anecdotes from friends who had tried them. I had a few fears going in to this procedure... 1. Would they use needles to numb my eye? No. That would be terrifying to see a needle aimed straight for my cornea. Instead, they use numbing eye drops. This may be obvious to people more familiar with eye surgery, but it was a welcome relief to me. 2. Would they use a scalpel to cut my cornea? No. This company uses an "All Laser" laser surgery, which means exactly what you think it means. 3. Would the doctor be creepy or make me uncomfortable? Dr. Marino heard that I was in a manic state about this surgery. He did everything short of giving me a neck massage to make me feel more relaxed. There's a reason that he is the doctor for the Lasik Plus corporate headquarters in Cincinnati -- because he's the best. 4. Would it be too scary? Sort of. It was scary. Dr. Marino prescribed me Valium to calm my nerves. However, the pharmacy wasn't open that morning. My dad kept trying to offer me his Xanax before the procedure, but I decided to brave the surgery without any meds. I told them I might faint because I once fainted on the floor of Claire's when I had my ear pierced in high school. They thought that was funny, but they were very careful with me after that. 5. Would it hurt during or after the procedure? No. It didn't hurt. It was just scary when they cut my cornea flap and my vision started to fade (normally what happens). Afterward, my eyes were dry and a little uncomfortable (normally what happens). 6. Would I go blind? The whole idea is that your vision gets better. And that's what happened -- believe it or not! 7. What if my eye moves around during the surgery? This might unsettle some techno-phobes, but the laser contraption has eye-tracking software that follows your eye around and an emergency shut-off when your eye goes out of range. I was a horrible patient. My eye wandered all over the place because they kept having me look at the light. I know you're supposed to look at the light, but the impulse to look away seems involuntary. Regardless, I did fine. 8. Would it be expensive. Yes. Insurance won't pay, but you get a "discount". There are cheaper options, but when it comes to my eyes, I will always insist on a premium doctor rather than someone who advertises on Groupon. I'm irrational that way, but you know what I'm talking about. If this review helped you decide on Lasik Plus, mention me when you check in because they will send me a reward for referring someone. I have worn glasses and contacts for 10+ years. Recently wearing my contacts was becoming more and more difficult due to over wear, cornea infections, etc. The problem is I work in sales (healthcare sales, actually) and am very active at the gym, so I HATED wearing my glasses. Wearing my glasses was only acceptable to me at night before bed. I had watched my boyfriends Lasik procedure about 1.5 years before at a competitor, and knew how happy he was to be done with his glasses. I decided to look into it, and to see if I would even qualify, so working in healthcare sales, I knew to shop around for the provider that made me feel comfortable, safe, and caring. LasikPlus was the second place I went to, and after my consultation I knew that was where I would have my procedure. The staff member who met with me initially was SO knowledgeable about the whole process, but also didn't make me feel like he was "talking down" to me. I decided to go ahead with the procedure even though I was very nervous. My Lasik procedure was done early in the morning, and everyone in the office was so supportive and reassuring. Dr. Marino was also very reassuring, and made it clear that he would not start the procedure until I was ready to go ahead. The procedure while a bit uncomfortable, couldn't have lasted more then 10 minutes, and everyone who assisted Dr. Marino was again so calming and reassuring. By the end of the day of my procedure, I could see perfectly. I drove myself to my followup the next day, and found out that I had better then perfect vision (20/15)! I have had a little dry eye in the morning, but by the afternoon I'm fine. In fact, my vision is now better then my boyfriend's who had it somewhere else, and is jealous that he didn't do it at LasikPlus! I would REALLY recommend looking into the procedure if you're considering it. Yes, it does cost a nice hunk of change, but its totally worth it. If you ask around, I'd bet you would be surprised at how many people have had it done! I was! read more

It has been over two years (I think) since I had Lasik performed on my eyes. I cannot imagine my life without this amazing procedure. Make whatever sacrifice you need to make to be able to afford it. They do offer financing since almost no insurance companies cover this "cosmetic" procedure. Check out your health insurance to see if they can do pre tax health savings, I saved several hundred dollars by doing this. The whole procedure is fast, professional, and amazing. My eyes were of course dry and sensitive for a few weeks after the procedure, but they provide ample eye drops and medicine. For the sake of the squeamish, I will leave out surgery details, but the whole procedure only takes about 5 minutes, if that. Soooo worth it. I was able to donate my glasses to a charity that gives them to 3rd world countries. Dr. Marino is probably one of the most experienced ophthalmologists in the USA; your eyes are in good hands with him. The equipment this location uses is state of the art and will do a perfect job correcting your sight. You will need someone to drive you home, so this is a great way for you and a friend/parent/spouse/mistress (ha!) to take care of you and get out of work for a day. *Side note: I did work for this company about 6 years ago in their call center. I had a great time watching the occasional employee have the surgery performed and hearing about their experience. (And yes, if you work there you get a steep discount on the procedure, but ya gotta keep working there for at least a year after to keep the deal) read more

I had this surgery 7 years ago with Dr. Marino and the whole experience and results have been such a great thing. These are THOROUGHLY professional, top notch people and I could not be happier to dump the glasses and contacts that I started wearing in 4th grade. (I'm 61 now.) However, I have a CAUTION, because I did one bad thing: There is some kind of lifetime benefit for any adjustive surgery later on, but ONLY IF YOU GET ANNUAL EXAMS. So now it's "later on," and probably because of my age, I'm starting to see some decline in my vision again, just like you do with glasses. I skimped and didn't get those annual exams, so I'm not eligible for a free adjustment. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB--DON'T DO THIS!! However, I liked Dr. Marino's work so well that I'm going to go in and have it done again fresh, in spite of the price. GET THE EXAMS, BE SMART. The feeling afterwards was just a little of dry eyes but you have drops for those. It's not an uncomfortable dry eye experience. Much like when you leave your contacts in overnight. I had an amazing experience from beginning to end. Not only were the results exactly as promised, but every single person there was kind, patient and helpful. Even being the scaredy-cat I am, I would do this process all over again. Not only because it's worth it, but because it was no where near as terrifying as I expected it to be. I scheduled my initial appointment only the day before. This appointment simply provided a free evaluation to confirm that I was a candidate (if you don't have a thick enough layer over your eye, you can't have Lasik. This is true for an extremely small percentage of people). This evaluation also confirms just how much correction needs to be done and therefore how much you would pay. My eyes were near-sighted and going on a -6. My original quote was a little over $3700. With a military discount it came down to $3500. However, they were also offering a promotion at the time that brought the price down to $3000. A couple things convinced me to finally go for Lasik. 1. With the crazy price of glasses and contacts (I used both), I knew that Lasik would quickly pay for itself. 2. This place only uses lasers! Some others still use a blade for the initial cut and I knew I couldn't handle that mentally and emotionally. Lol 3. This location was the very first of its chain. And the doctor here has been there from the beginning and done every surgery. That's amazing and gave me such confidence. 4. I was told there would be no actual pain and the procedure would only take 5 minutes. Both of these things were true. Yes, there's some slight discomfort/pressure from the things they use to keep your eye open, but that's nothing! Ok. Now, for everyone out there who is as terrified as I was and wants to know if they could handle it - you want an accurate idea of what you go through, but you don't want to further freak yourself out. Well, here's my story. After being in my own personal waiting room and receiving numbing drops in my eyes, I met the doctor. Seriously, super nice guy. And a calm presence. I immediately knew I was in good hands. I was ushered into the operation room where the doctor and his two assistants helped me to lay down in the first chair in the procedure. You lay flat on your back, they give you a second dose of numbing drops and they cover up one eye. You are asked to stare at a large red circle on the ceiling. But in no time they've started. They use a clear circle piece of plastic to keep your eye open. Frankly, it simply felt like a large contact with a little pressure. My vision went black for several seconds. It was easy to remain calm because the people in the room gave me a countdown for the short amount of time remaining until this eye was done. Nothing was said about what was happening so I didn't have to think about the stomach-turning details. I felt no pain at all. It was as if nothing at all was happening. My blurry vision returned - that eye was done. They did the other eye and it was just as uneventful. I was asked to sit up and I was escorted to another chair where I again laid flat on my back. And again, they covered one eye. This time, my eye was held open by a little metal bracket and there was a feeling of stretching. Ok, this next part was the only thing that freaked me out, but it only lasted about three seconds. I could see the doctor use a small metal instrument to peel back the flap he had just created. Ugh. I know. I took a deep breath and remained calm. I sang a song to myself and pictured the smile of my beautiful little boy. I stared at a flashing green light and smelled a yucky burning smell for about eighteen seconds and then THAT EYE WAS DONE! Eighteen seconds?!? I can do anything for eighteen seconds! So the other eye went the same. Not my favorite thing to see or smell, but eighteen seconds? And done! I looked pale and pathetic so they offered my a drink and snack. But I walked out of that office with better vision than I've had in over a decade. Yes, there was a strong glare at the time, but I could see! As far as recovery goes, I felt swollen and irritated for about 24 hours, probably less. I used sunglasses for light sensitivity. You are asked to go home and sleep for four hours. Then you begin a week of two prescription drops four times a day. They also give you drops that are simply for dry eyes that you should use until they're gone. While technically your eye takes 3-6 months to heal, I'm less than a week out and very happy with the results. I have 20/20 vision and only a slight glare. If you have Lasik done, come here!!!! read more

I purchased the "lifetime warrantee" when I got my eyes done years ago. I moved to the West Coast since (with no locations nearby). This is the second time I've gone through the process (mandatory -self paid- dilated vision check) to get them re-done. And the second time they are giving me the runaround. (Not calling me back, "recommending" against getting them redone. Not having anyone available during the weeks I am visiting Cincinnati (which I do only once a year -if that.) It's obvious they will do anything to just not have to re-do anyones eyes. read more

I could not have been more pleased with my LASIK experience. The doctors, nurses and staff were so nice and gave the impression that they truly loved their jobs! Disney World has a run for their money because the LasikPlus Vision Center in Cincinnati felt like the happiest place on earth!! Also, everyone was so reassuring throughout the entire process. The office staff was super friendly and FUN!! The initial evaluation went smoothly and the doctor who performed the examination was very pleasant and knowledgeable. During the surgery, the surgeon and nurses were very calming and kind. They were deliberate about creating an environment with the least amount of stress as possible. They told me exactly what was happening throughout the entire procedure and even counted down with how many seconds were left for each part of the process. The next day when I went for a follow up, the doctor who checked my progress was just as friendly, helpful and encouraging as the doctor and surgeon who saw me the day of the procedure. I had vision correction surgery yesterday and today my vision is 20/15! The whole team at LASIK Plus was very reassuring during the surgery. I felt like I was in well trained hands. I experienced some intense stinging in both eyes after the numbing wore off but only for about an hour. By three hours out of surgery I was pain free. I highly recommend Tylenol PM before surgery. I had lasik surgery done in June of 2016. My thoughts on the experience: - It was very easy to get a consult set-up with the team - The location sees such a high volume of patients, it felt a little bit impersonal. It was hard to pay attention to the video about surgery while everyone was passing through and people were talking all around you. - The team was very friendly and helpful. They answered any/all questions and concerns I had. - I ended up opting to have the surgery at the Dayton location. I MUCH prefer that location to this one. It was calmer, more inviting and relaxing. - The actual procedure took less than 10 minutes. I was incredibly anxious and the staff was wonderful and supportive. - I realize everyone is different, but for me, the first 48 hours after were awful. Every time I blinked, it felt like I was blinking over a scab (I mean, it was a major eye surgery). - Now 7 months after the surgery, my vision is still perfect. My right eye has zero issues. My left eye on the other hand, I constantly see floaters. I went back numerous times about this and was told this was not due to the surgery. However, I never had this issue before and have heard of others having the same issue. Just a watch out. My biggest advice is for people having this surgery, please remember it is a serious eye surgery. Everyone, including my friends, seemed to downplay the seriousness of it and how easy it was. The following is my opinion and perception of the events that occurred on March 26, 2014. My friend and I scheduled a free consultation back in February 2014. Within days of scheduling, I received paperwork in the mail confirming the appointment, but my friend oddly never received any mail. Regardless, we both went for a free consultation and I scheduled my LASIK procedure for March 26, 2014 with Dr. Marino at the LASIK Plus Vision Center (7840 Montgomery Road). I arrived at 3pm for a 3:20 appointment with the same friend from above. They called me to fill out paperwork, pay for the procedure and then asked me to sit back down in the lobby. My friend knew that I was nervous and asked if they could give me something to calm my nerves. They told him that it requires a prescription to be filled at a pharmacy. I was never notified at any point during consultation or scheduling that I needed to call ahead for a prescription. At 3:50 I went to the desk to ask them about the wait time as I was anxious and felt I had been waiting an extraordinary period of time without any updates. The person at the counter was very nice, listened, and started to take me back to the doctor to discuss sedatives to calm my nerves. I met Molly in passing and ended up following her to the prep room. I felt more at ease once I was in the room and the process was started and she explained that they were just behind schedule because another patient had some complications earlier in the day. Besides my nerves, everything was going fine until Dr. Marino walked in. At first he was pleasant until I started to ask questions that my primary eye doctor mentioned and that's when Dr. Marino became agitated. Specifically, I asked him if he was going to recheck my prescription as my normal eye doctor (who was also doing my post-op after-care) said that because I wore contacts 24/7 for months at a time that my eyes might be misshaped and my prescription might change after wearing glasses for 6 weeks. He immediately responded that they had just rechecked my eyes that day by the other doctor and pulled my records after I told him that did not happen. He reviewed my records and then changed the story saying that a recheck was unnecessary and that I was "uneducated" on how this works. He then said that I was "stopping the train". He told me that he needed to leave to take care of other patients that were ready to go, so my friend and I waited for his return. In the meantime they retested my eyes to verify the prescription per my request. They did admit that the prescription came out slightly different and now my entire prescription needed to change. He came back and did the following: 1. Cut off my friend mid-sentence and said "I cannot talk to my patient because you won't stop speaking" 2. He told me that the retest changed my prescription and now he was going to have to go with the most conservative adjustment, which would likely only give me 20/25 or 20/30 vision as he was too worried that a more aggressive prescription would just make me unhappy based on his perception of my personality. 3. Told me that I needed to reschedule a consultation because I needed special handling 4. Said that I am a perfectionist and no matter what he did, I'd probably never be happy. I have no idea where that comment came from and it's as though he was trying to make me out to be an overly difficult patient to justify his behavior toward my friend and I. I was honestly just nervous and had conflicting information from my eye doctor that I was trying to sort out. 5. Said that all my questions should have been answered by his staff before he walked in and that I was holding up the process. 6. I was told that his entire staff was on standby past their shift because of me. In frustration, I told him that I'm sure his expertise was excellent, but his bedside manner was not good. He decided to "pause" the procedure and my money was refunded. Overall, I'm a reasonable person who was just nervous and had questions. The situation could have easily been resolved if he had just talked to me in a manner that did not come across as condescending (my perception) to both my friend and I. When he said "you are stopping the train" my interpretation was that patients are like cattle and my questions were slowing the assembly line down too much. I would like to note that the staff are professional, friendly and attentive...unfortunately Dr. Marino mistook my questions as a personal attack and now I have to start the process all over again with a different company. The Customer Relations Rep did offer to send me to another city and pay for an overnight stay, but I decided to decline as I wanted to stay local in case any complications occurred. So Lasik-Plus did try to remediate the issue as best they could, but unfortunately Dr. Marino is the only doctor here at the LASIK Plus Cincinnati location. read more
