Evidently he noticed some irregularity in my eyes. Instead of telling me that he called two other people into the room and they proceeded to whisper & discuss me while looking at the computer screen. So rude and unprofessional! When they called this week to schedule my annual exam I relayed the story to them and told them I won't be coming back because of it. Instead of apologizing and saying they would let him know about the problem, the woman simply said OK we'll throw away your file! More rudeness! Plus my new doctor may need to refer to my old files to assess the progression of an eye problem. I just wanted to warn others that might be considering going to him for eye care. Definitely don't recommend them

My husband and I actually booked back to back appointments. I haven't been to the eye doctor since I was in 5th grade, mainly because I claim to have perfect vision, but after not being able to see (especially while driving) my family banded against me and made me go (insert mad face). And I'll admit, i was mainly not going because I thought it was because I was getting older and/or possibly because I am scared to death of that eye puff machine. Basically I'm Rachel off friends in the episode "The One With Joey's Big Break" and also where Rachel goes to the eye doctor, gets some drops and everyone has to hold her down to put them in, yeah that's actually based on my life story. ANYWAY -- the doc tells me the eye puff machine is old skool and that technology is no longer in use. Now they use these super high tech camera things and it's not *as* scary. After the camera screenings etc. the eye exam was where I seriously almost lost my shit. Dr. Guappone 1) looks like Bill Nye. 2) IS THE SMARTEST MOST ARTICULATE MAN ON EARTH (well at least in the eye doc world). He didn't give me some BS medical terms. He actually broke down what was wrong in terms I could understand and even demonstrated on a model, and as a visual learner I was super appreciative of this! Also as others have said, he is very thorough. When I started off my saying I was a perfectionist, he went on to say he was too - and hence the through exam to make sure that the exam matched up to the camera readings. I just could not believe the amount of time he took to explain both to me and my husband about our situations, preventative health, and plan moving forward. It was a breath of fresh air and seriously eliminated (well almost) my fear of going to the doctor. I cannot reccomend him enough! The only negative and -1 star. I felt like the glasses selection was a bit outdated. They had some trendy designers, but not nearly enough or in the styles I wanted. Although the young man helping me was funny and enthusiastic I was put off by how insistent he was when trying to get me to purchase glasses through them. I literally just learned I needed glasses, if I have to wear them on my face every day - I want and need to find the ones I actually like! And again, as a perfectionist do some reserach first. Albeit super friendly, would lay off the sales pitch. Overall cannot reccomend this place enough and I will certainly be back for my ongoing check-ups!

Here is my story and I tried to make it short: I did the eye exam and got my persecution in late 2016; Dr John D. LEVY did that for me and he was professional and kind. I went back to their shop recently (mid 2017) to ask if I'm able to meet the doctor and let him add the other brand of contact lenses on my prescription because I kinda like the Aucuve Oasis. Their stuff told me the doctor was no in the store currently, so form then on I went there every two weeks to buy a pair of contact lenses which MUCH EXPENSIVE THAN THE MARKET PRICE (Avira,$20/pair,you can buy 6 of them for about $20) and ask when the doctor will be back. Last week was the second month that I ask them, and Bill finally promised me to contact the Doctor, with reluctant attitude, and he said he would call me at Wednesday. I wait until then but NO ONE EVER CALLED. On Thursday I went that again to ask, Bill did't say sorry, he just gave me a piece of paper with the contact lenses brands that I want. But that was not on persecution, so I insist to make an appointment with the doctor. He said I would need to pay what ever the doctor asked to get what I need to add on my persecution, and the doctor will be back next Wednesday. I though that if I can pay a little bit more to solve my problem, why not? And finally, this Wednesday is my last time step into this stupid place. I went to their shop this noon and ask the young fellow:"Is the doctor here today?" He check the schedule and told me:" Well today is Wednesday, I'm sorry the Doctor is not here today." "But your stuff told me he'll be back today." The young fellow was a nice person so I asked nicely; "Who told you that? I need to ask him." "An older man works here." "Bill, wait a second." And he went inside to ask BILL, and I was waiting there. Just for a second I heard Bill yelling at the poor young fellow:" I won't deal with him anymore, the doctor is not here and he'll not get his persecution...xxxxx" I defiantly a little bit angry, but I also didn't put my trust in Bill. I leave my words " So you lied to me TWICE, Good job!" and left the place. It was a true story, I know I shouldn't made this personal. But the fact is, the other staff, include the young fellow, the doctor and an old lady were very nice to the customers. At least, they never make promises they can't keep. That's the bottom line of being a person, right? In fact no one wanna deal with Bill either, I went to see the doctor, who the hack care about if Bill was there or not? And what I want to say is: Even a non-christian knows: LYING IS A SIN, BILL!

I was sad when many vision insurance changed and I could no longer go there. After Walmart I tried Lens Crafters which I hated! Comparing this place with both of those places, the doctor is way friendlier. They have convenient times for appointments. They're cheaper than Lens Crafters, but not as cheap as Walmart... or maybe it's just that they don't have as large of a selection as Walmart. One thing they do differently is that you don't look at the wall to find your own glasses. You give them some information on what you'd like, then they bring you a bunch of glasses to try. I can't decide if I like this better or not but I did get glasses that I like and I didn't take nearly as long picking them out since I didn't have to find them on my own. Overall I'd say I like this place over most Eye Doctors and would recommend them to anyone.

I visited Edgewood Eye Center for the second time today and had such a positive experience that I…read morewanted to write a review. The first time was in December and I got my normal eye exam. I was able to get an appointment quickly and thought the office staff and doctor were nice and on time. It was a great visit. Today I visited again with my son who is about three years old. I was a little nervous for my toddler to go through the exam and get his eyes dilated, but had some concerns about his eyesight and so thought it was for the best. Everyone in the office greeted him and helped him feel comfortable before and during his exam. The administrative staff gave him special attention and told him he was brave during the dilation process and offered stickers to distract him. The staff person that started the exam and the doctor both were excellent with him and made him feel comfortable the whole time. It was such a relief to me that they made the process so easy!

The door was left open, I could see staff members including Dr. Crawford walk past the exam room many times. At about 30 minutes of waiting, I decided to leave. As I approached the exam room door to leave, the Doctor who had walked past the door several times, suddenly appeared and entered the exam room. Never, while I waited did anyone check in to tell me the Dr. is running behind, etc. The quality of the exam was high. At the end, the Doctor pressed me hard to purchase frames from him right then and there. I had someplace to be. I left and came back to look at frames. I entered the frames area where there was one male working. Well, not really doing anything, just sitting. He glanced at me but said nothing. Apparently, he didn't see me remove my own classes and hold them in my hand as I browsed available frames. I walked past the employee a few times as I browsed. Not once did he offer assistance. Okay. After browsing for about 10 minutes, I walked away from the frames area and headed to the door to leave. Then suddenly, an elevated voice asked, "Are you going to pay for those?". It was the male employee. Pay for what I asked. He replied, "The frames in your hand". I asked, "what, these glasses, that I came in with?". His reply. "Oh, never mind". And that was that. Not another word from the employee. This is an odd place. The disdain that radiates from some of the employees for some of their customers is apparent. The staff clearly favors some of their customers, but not all of them. Would I go back or recommend this Doctor? Nope.
