I waited to write a review for Lashology until I'd been a regular customer for a while. I was sort of waiting to have a bad experience there, but that never happened. I started getting lash extensions several years ago, when it first became *a thing* (I am an early-adopter of beauty trends, for better or worse), and back then, the lash glue burned the throat and a full set cost upwards of $200. Needless to say, I didn't keep up with it back then. My experience at Lashology has been totally different. First, what it's like: The building is shared with other businesses, Lashology is on the first floor, down the hallway a bit. From what I can tell, it's basically just one small room with multiple, comfortable, blanketed tables. My first visit, it was a little creepy, honestly - walking into a quiet room, a bunch of women lying uniformly on beds in a row, technicians quietly tending to their lashes. Anyway, you sign in at the reception desk and your technician will greet you and take you to her station, where you will lie down and either chat through your appointment, or silently relax (or fall asleep, which is also nice). You get a quick aromatherapy scalp and neck massage before the application. Glue is completely odorless. Another bonus: Their playlists or Pandora station or whatever is actually good, so you aren't stuck listening to Enya for 2 hours. Second, the results: I have now had three different technicians (Kristina, Tamara, and Simone) and they all did a great job. I have had so many people say "wow, your lashes look amazing," and when I disclose that they're lash extensions, they can't believe it, "because they look so natural." Lashes look great for about two weeks. Week three, they start to look a little janky but not terrible (this is usually when I go back). There is zero lash damage, I do NOT lose any more lashes than normal, they are not heavy, etc. Third, other stuff: You can book online. If you have a lashmergency (yep), they can typically get you in within the next day, but I recommend booking a little further in advance. Pricing is done according to "level" of the technician, volume or single lashes, and amount of time you'd like them to work on your lashes. So if you're on a budget, just choose a level 1 tech, single lashes, and maybe don't get a super full set. Bam, affordable lashes for all. Finally, if you want a specific shape, make sure you ask. I have weird shaped eyes, kind of bulgy like Anne Hathaway, and I know the cat eye thing looks hideous on me. These girls are pros, and they aim to please, so they'll work with you to get it right. Not a bad thing to say! Except maybe: Prepare to get addicted and adjust your monthly budget. read more

She even educated me before about why waterproof mascara and eyelash curlers are harmful for your lashes. She was honest about my lashes being short, so the lash lift may not work like I was hoping. She even suggested that I may want to wait for my lashes to get healthier and longer before the lift. I went ahead and did the lash lift, and she was able to get my little lashes to lift some! Lashology did not diasppoint! I booked a 135 min appointment for my first time ever with Karilyn before my wedding and was so happy with the results! She took the time to fully explain the process, told me they use vegan "mink" for the extensions, non-toxic adhesive and that they lash extensions would not damage my natural lashes. I received so many compliments and the lashes felt so comfortable. I did not find it difficult to clean or maintain the lashes and nearly a month later they are still going strong!!! I like that they fall out naturally so there is no pulling or fighting and they look sooo natural. My lashes looked beautiful for my wedding and lasted through our honeymoon (swimming, sweating, etc.). I would definitely recommend Lashology to anyone interested in natural, safe, lash extensions. Honestly super disappointed. This is a beautiful studio and the staff was great, but I think the adhesive they used had gone bad maybe. 90% of the lashes that have fallen out were not still attached to a real lash. I have had extensions before and been much rougher on them, I even stopped hot yoga while I've had these on. My previous sets lasted much longer then these. Walking into Lashology in the Lower Highlands is like walking into your best friend's living room. The ambiance is stylishly feminine, comfortable, and welcoming, yet impeccably clean and organized. Immediately upon entering, you're greeted by the staff and provided a comfortable lounge area in which to wait for your lash artist. My lash artist was Tatiana, a friendly artist-in-training from Ukraine. I must admit that I was a bit nervous in trusting something as fragile as my eyes to a newbie, but my fears were quickly put to ease as I learned Erika, Lashology's owner, would be assisting throughout the entire process. Because of this, I was lucky enough to bear witness to a small portion of the rigorous training and testing that all Lashology artists go through before officially joining the team. I had opted for a lash lift and tint as my naturally super-blonde eyelashes - though plenty long - were practically invisible without endless swipes of mascara. Much of the process as a client is spent waiting with eyes closed as the glue or dye dries. As such, Tatiana was given her verbal exam during these breaks. In listening to the exam questions, it immediately became clear that Erika invests a significant amount of time in the training and education of her staff. The exam questions covered everything from the products they used, to the history of the company, and most importantly the safety and well-being of the clients. I'm proud to say that Tatiana aced the exam (even in her second language of English!), and was only the second employee ever to pass on the first try. Congratulations, Tatiana! The process was a bit longer than I'd expected, but I was glad to have an artist dedicated to perfection rather than simply wanting to move onto her next client. When she wasn't taking exams while my lashes processed, Tatiana gave me lovely scalp and shoulder massages infused with lavender aromatherapy oils. While I was pleased with her delicate touch when working on my eyes, I could've gone for a bit more pressure/firmness during the massage. However, I wasn't there for a massage, I was there to have my invisible lashes transformed into beautiful facial focal points! My only other wish would've been an explanation of each step during the process, as you feel a little helpless lying there with eyes closed the whole time. Regardless, the end result was PHENOMENAL. My lashes are now full, dark, and super lifted - I honestly don't think I'll need one swipe of mascara for the next 6-8 weeks! I can finally wake up and head out the door without worrying about looking sickly because of my blonde lashes, or spending time (and money) trying to darken them with makeup.
