WARNING- I GOT SEVERE BURNS FROM IPL WITH DASIE. Please learn from my mistake and spare yourselves. I have scar tissue on my chest that will never fully recover. I will forever be forced to deal with the negligence of Dasie for the rest of my life. After having a consultation for IPL on my face and chest with Dasie, I arrived to my appointment with numbing solution on my face and none on my chest, as directed. This was my first ever laser treatment for my skin, so I didn't quite know what to expect, but as she was going over my face, it was quite painful. Then she moved on to my chest, and as she was passing the laser over, I was screaming out in pain. I figured it would hurt, but it shouldn't hurt THIS bad. I kept telling her how painful it was, but she never turned down the laser settings. I didn't know that was possible, so I didn't specifically ask her to. I assumed a properly trained technician would know what they needed to do, as not everyone has the same skin type.l, but clearly I was wrong. Both in assuming she was properly trained and that she would adjust the settings as needed. Immediately after the treatment she put an ice pack on my chest, but the second I took it off, I was SCREAMING in pain. I had severe second degree burns (which I didn't realize in the moment). The second my chest wasn't numb from the ice pack, the pain felt unbearable. I sat in the chair for an extra 1.5hrs after my treatment bc she didn't want me leaving the office in that painful of a condition, but I had to get home at some point. It took 7 hours of an ice pack on my chest non-stop before the pain subsided to a degree where I could remove the ice pack. I contacted her afterwards to show her photos and let her know my condition. She was not sympathetic and told me I wasn't burned. I told her I needed to speak with the doctor ASAP. The managing doctor of Dasie's business was conveniently on vacation, so she passed me along to another male doctor who was on call for the one on vacation. The managing doctor of Dasie's business is called Dr. Melissa Milan. I looked her up online and saw she has 1 board action in 2020 for Substandard Care, Incompetence or Negligence (8/19/2020). The on call doctor whom I texted with and spoke with on the phone (but wasn't able to see in-person ) was called Dr. Michael R. Iannotti. On the phone he blamed me for the burns on my chest. He said my skin type was too dark and because my skin tans easily, it was my fault for having too dark skin for IPL. I was shocked and horrified that instead of taking accountability for treating my skin type incorrectly (based on the Fitzpatrick scale, which Dasie incorrectly treated me as a 1 or a 2, when I am a Fitzpatrick 3) and offering a wound care routine, he told me it was my fault and that it would naturally heal and offered no solution. He didn't want to take accountability because he didn't want me to sue him. Dasie never apologized, and still charged me for the burning me. Absolutely despicable. STAY FAR AWAY FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. read more

This is long overdue! In June of 2021, I began removing my bikini and armpits with laser hair removal. As I went to see Daisie more and more I realized that my "freckles" were sunspots from years of swimming, being in the sun, and not taking care of my skin in the best way possible.
