Some things to know: As mentioned above, this place is SMALL. Whitney is the only one who runs, owns, and works there. There are magazines for you to look at while you wait for her and the decor is happy and bright. When she was done with her client before me, she greeted me with a very friendly smile. I liked the fact that my appointment was at 11 am and she saw me promptly at 11 am. I had my eyebrows and lips waxed as well as a brazilian. She made me feel very comfortable and is more than happy to explain what she's doing and why she's doing it or answer any questions or concerns you may have. I was in an out in about half an hour. I would really give this place a 4.5 out of 5. The only reason I docked half a star is because my brazilian was not completely clean. Though not bad by any means, it bothers me that she missed a few hairs, (honestly, what she missed isn't even noticeable unless you go looking for it. I'm just really picky). The total price before tip: $65. NOT BAD AT ALL. I came from LA where I would get my brazilians done for $80. So for the quality of the work, the atmosphere in the salon and Whitney's friendly and warm presence, this place gets a 4.5. I would definitely go back again, and would recommend her to everyone. On a side note: If you call to make an appointment and she doesn't pick up, it's probably because she's with another client. Leave a message! She'll get back to you as soon as she can. NO LIE!

Upon arriving at my appointment, I was feeling raw and vulnerable and tired and teary, which means I also felt especially ugly. I told Karen that I was wallowing in self-loathing and that today was probably going to be a challenge. Because why hold back when you're probably going to be bawling by the end of the appointment anyway, right? Especially when 'Jar of Hearts' and similar melodramatic, heart-wrenching songs* come on while you're being stabbed in the face. Well, she was so lovely to me and I left feeling so much better about myself afterwards that I did end up bawling in the car on the way home because I was so damn relieved. I'm used to women being completely awful to me, so I have come to expect it. But she is kind, funny, compassionate, knowledgeable, skilled, gentle, understanding, and efficient.
