A restaurant consist of quality service, quality food and quality of the physical establishment. It was my birthday today, came to celebrate my 17th birthday with dinner. We waited in a lobby full of people for about 20 minutes. We were finally seated and were immediately served chips and beans. 15 minutes passed nobody had taken our order. I stood up and got the attention of one of the servers. They just nodded. Another 5 minutes nothing. I stood up again and got the attention of another waiter. 10 minutes passed and FINALLY someone came to take our order. A young woman who took little to no interest in taking our order. She took half of our order and just disappeared. We were left in shock the way she just left. We received our food fairly fast. Quality of food was HORRIBLE. I ordered green enchiladas with beans and rice. The essence, the status and caliber of a MEXICAN restaurant stands in its rice and beans. RICE SEEMED LIKE STYROFOAM AND SAND HAD A BABY. Beans were below what the standard should be. My father ordered Chile verde. It was about 13 pieces of small meet with water like chile verde. Very under seasoned. The waiters has a bad attitude then weigh down the atmosphere. While I was paying, I was at the front desk and a lady took my money and went to get my change, she took with her a couple of plates where she touched the surface of the plate where the food is supposed to be eaten off of, with the money fingers. we decided to order something we've never tried. what a mistake! we ordered the Chicharrones in red sauce and spicy short ribs in green sauce ... the red sauce had good flavor the chicharrones were chewy. they should try frying them and adding sauce on the side to make tacos. I don't recommend them as is. the short ribs sauce you could taste the corn starch they used to thicken it up. mostly bone no meat ... don't waste your money stock to the street tacos. stick to beans rice and tacos you can't go wrong! on a good note: serve was excellent! read more

We've been coming to this location for years. The service and food has been getting progressively worse. For literally a couple years now, they've been unable to melt cheese. Don't even try to order a cheese enchilada. I'd put money on it coming to you full of cold, shredded cheese in the middle. It's honestly quite amazing that they can serve you a hot plate full of hot beans and rice, with an enchilada covered in hot red enchilada sauce and it will still contain perfectly unmelted cheese. By now I've learned my lesson not to even eat the food. I just order my favorite las casuelas bowl cocktail. Even that is hit or miss on quality. Today my friend and I ordered it and it came to us lacking serious flavor. It was quite apparent that the squirt soda they use was out of syrup and it was just carbonated water. We alerted our server after one sip and she seemed instantly annoyed and said "let me go check on that". First of all, the proper protocol for a situation like that would be to say, "oh, I'm sorry, let me go get you some new drinks" and remove the bad drinks. But no. A good amount of time went by and eventually the bartender came over to our table asking what was wrong with them. It almost seems as if the server had told her we said she made it wrong, which wasn't the case at all. We said from the beginning that the syrup in the squirt was out. She seemed to understand and said she would make new drinks. We waited another long while before the drinks came out. They still weren't the same, but much better and the squirt issue had been resolved. My daughter ordered the rice and beans and said they weren't as good as they used to be. My friend ordered flour tortilla chips (which they charged us $7 for-ridiculous) and they were okay. We left and almost immediately my friend and I felt super nauseated. I've never felt this bad after this drink and that's literally all I had. I didn't eat a single chip or anything, so it had to be the drink. Besides feeling like trash after paying a fortune for sub-standard food and drinks, the service here has become abysmal. To have it be a 20 min ordeal and a full scale investigation into why the cocktails were wrong when we clearly said the syrup was out in the soda from the beginning, was ridiculous. We'd taken a single sip out of the drink before alerting our server to the issue and she acted as though we'd finished it before complaining. This place isn't worth it anymore. The Hot chips and salsa are placed on your table within minutes of being seated. They also give you a small bowl of warm retried beans to dip your chips in. Never had that before but it was great. I had the best quesadilla ever! I don't understand the bad reviews. Service was amazing. I got the taco truck quesadilla and it was amazing. I always come here when I visit my mom. I stopped eating at Las Casuelas years ago. I was frustrated with their poor service. I tried again them today during lunch. I ordered a dish that has shrimp and is supposed to come with tortillas and guacamole. I asked for a salad instead of rice and beans. My entree came but I had to ask for the tortillas and guacamole. The waiter said they put avocado on my salad so I wouldn't get guacamole. Seriously?! They put 3 thin slices of avocado on the salad and that makes it ok to not serve an item as described on the menu?! A good waiter would have asked me if I wanted the guacamole or sliced avocado instead instead of deciding for me. I definitely would have chosen the guacamole so I didn't have shrimp in a dry tortilla for lunch. Back to not eating at Las Casuelas it is. Their service is horrible! read more

People must be pretty miserable to complain so much about a restaurant, especially during the pandemic years and the years following with people not working and places being short staffed. The employees at the Ripon location are my favorite! I drive from Modesto to Ripon just to see my usual staff members. I appreciate the time and effort they give regardless of being understaffed and busy. I called to make comment & was offered new meals. They were apologetic & I told them I did not want anything else and had to drive it back to get a refund. If they were thinking they would just commented to throw it away and we will refund you. So an hour wasted in total to get my refund. I have not been to this restaurant since covid began. I got a chicken fajita salad today and it was the worse salad I have ever got there. I usually always order this salad. There was a lot of pieces of chicken, however they had no flavor and the chicken pieces were hard, difficult to chew. The tomatoes were over ripe/rotten. There were 3 pieces of avocado that were almost brown. The other than really edible was the iceberg lettuce. How sad! I threw the salad away. This was my favorite salad. I wish I read the reviews before coming here. I ordered a taco truck burrito, wet. I specifically asked for red sauce, and they brought me a burrito with spaghetti sauce on it. I wish I took a picture but it smelled so gross I asked them to take it back. They told me it was some "relleno" sauce, but as far as I'm concerned it tasted, looked, and smelled like ragu. I went across the street to the taqueria and got the burrito I wanted for $5 less. The service was nice, but don't waste your time or money here and just go to the taqueria. read more
